    Time 8:06, the bus labeled AE is Airport Express, direct line between Airport and main station.

    One important note for RegioJet - you do mention needing to have an account on their app, but if it doesn't connect with the screen for some tech reason, there is absolutely no way to order food or drinks. The attendant simply said he wouldn't be able to accommodate any order. Very unprofessional overall and I'm sad to say I regretted choosing this over the RJ Vindobona.

    Thank you for the thorough breakdown (esp. of the stations) :)
    Since you've taken the Eurocity option, for a first time travel couple to Eastern Europe wanting to go from Prague to Budapest, which line do you prefer?
    I've checked out videos online, and leaning Regiojet as they seem to better cater for english speaking travelers, booking seems a little easier.
    Is there also anything route-related to lookout for? (e.g. strikes, landslides, reroutes in certain areas due to track maintenance?)

    • @Trainviking

      I'm happy to hear that it helped you.
      I don't speak Slovak or Czech but u do speak German so maybe it's a bit hard to compare for me as well however regiojet is good for English speaking people for sure.
      If you're going to Budapest with this train, the other train of CD, has a bit nicer route (especially along the river between the Slovak border and Budapest) and I really like the dining car, something you won't find in the RegioJet.
      So for me, even though I like the RegioJet, I'll choose for other trains.
      On the route to Vienna you'll find Railjet trains operated by the Czech state owned railways, I haven't made a video about thos trains (yet, it's on my list but the list is long haha).
      About a great tool to book treintickets, particularly you can use www.trainline.eu (only for the routes between or via Austria) for the other tickets, so from Prague to Budapest with the EC train you can book tickets via www.cd.cz
      And no special things at this moment for this route as far as I know.

      @Rukawasendoh117 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Trainviking Appreciate the reply! Ah, so the route going through slovakia is more picturesque.
      Besides the dining car, are there any other CD-exclusive features you enjoy?
      Also out of the two
      - Which one would probably cost less, from a Regiojet - standard relaxed tier
      - Which one has the more affordable menu?
      - Which railway runs more (i.e. more departure times )
      And is there a difference between the railjets run by CD vs OBB?
      Lastly out of Nyugati pu, Kelenti, Kelenföld which budapest station is the best to arrive at in your opinion?

    Good night,
    I want to buy a Prague-Budapest ticket with Regiojet, but when I select Prague I get several departure stations and when I put Budapest I also get several stations. Could you tell me which stations I should select? My hotels in both cities are in the center.
    Thank you

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  ปีที่แล้ว

      For Regiojet you can best select Budapest Deli railway station.

    Should we reserve seat on the train. Are there lots of passengers?

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's obligated to reserve on RegioJet long distance trains, in general these trains are fully booked.

    Hi Georges, is there passport control on the train?

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  ปีที่แล้ว

      Czechia, Austria and Hungary are all countries that signed the Schengen treaty. This means free movement of people and goods however there might be every now and then a check for travel documents.
      No matter if you're crossing a border or not, you always need to have the right travel documents.

      @@Trainviking I have the opportunity to go to the Netherlands with asylum. I thought of using the railway, but I guess there will be trouble. If there is a passport control, Hungary is on the Austrian line.

    how much luggage can I take with me in a regiojet from Prague to Vienna traveling low cost 2nd class?

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't give you the exact answer. In general there is a kind of unwritten rule for trains, you can take as much as you can carry in a normal way. For exact details look up the information on the RegioJet website.

    We took a train from Vienna to Budapest.
    Train was clean, with AC. But we had a over one hour delay. As mentioned on their website, "on time arrival guarantee" message is very untrue. We applied for a refund and got only excuses and lies. First they told us the train delied only 51 minutes, which was untrue because we were in the train and we did reach after one hour, not 51 min. Lie. After mailing them again they sayed "not only was not delayed enough but also was a delaied by a person on the tracks, that does not count" .... another excuse, our train was driving slower than normal in many parts of the ride, but was not stopped for one hour for such a reason. So bad service, no refund and unpolite.

      I will never travel on Regiojet ever again. I bought business tickets off the online seat map but they put the carriage on backwards. My wife can’t travel backwards. The train was full so she sat on her luggage all the way in the corridor. Unless you are happy with a late running overcrowded backwards train, I strongly suggest you use the OBB instead.
