Even though my #1 is crazy strong, I prefer using the #5 weapon. That's the beauty of Borderlands 3. Just because it isn't the best of the best, doesn't mean it's not fun to use.

A gun that I hate with a burning passion is the try bolt. I guess the try means It try’s and fails to kill anything. Sure I’m a moze main, and I haven’t used it in a while, but if I want a good burst fire gun I can farm a kaos or breath.
My least favorite enemy in the entire game is anointed militants.
Bruh… the Crit doesn’t even get honorable mention? That has to be a mistake
ive had the game since launch and still have not got the plasma coil. arms race is just not fun to me
Borderlands 3 has slowly become my comfort game. Whenever shit happens I just boot it up and tear through a takedown or two

Needle Gun has become my favorite weapon after the buff. I really hope they undo the Tediore nerf. Would LOVE to run around with a Tediore Moze build with that thing
I don't understand why they couldn't just nerf it in the Arms Race, since I'm pretty sure that's why it was nerfed originally.
@@SteamedPickles what's crazy is that it STILL wrecks in arms race.. So virtually it was nerved for no reason
Just recently went from MH6 to 11 and a cryo one helped me transition easily
Needle Gun and Soulrender, my favorite no-aimers. There was a time I'd farm the claptraps by just keeping the trigger on a Needle Gun and running around in circles (until one time when my Zane really did run out of ammo; I have it set to sntl cryo).
Maybe if they removed tediores minus the dark army from arms race maybe then they could un nerf them
Needle Gun on Amara essentially makes her immortal as long as shes using infusion and the status effect damage heals you and you dont miss too often with it. She can even solo hermovorus the invincible with it.
The DNA was my first M10 weapon. Was playing at m2 and maurice had it in his machine on promethea. 81000 damage and I was set. It allowed me to start farming at M11. Now 4 of my VHs are playing at M11 the others are taking it easy. To be honest a couple are still in the story and the others are waiting for gear.
VERY similar experience here cept i got it from diamond vault but it allowed me to get my foot in the door so to speak for mayhem 10/11 cause i had ZERO idea how i was gonna make the jump. i was casually trying to farm m4 and 6 drops fdjskhfkds. nowadays tho, the hail is totally my go to mayhem weapon should i lack one (not so much an issue now honestly lmao.)
Been rocking the dark army on Amara and so far, it shreds every shot!
The Exceptional Dark Army ++ is my favorite weapon in the game. Maybe not the most outright powerful, but I love having that army of drones and the elemental puddles do good damage.
Nice list I loved how they buffed needle gun and made cartels permanent
All these smg’s are amazing. My personal favorite is the long musket, because i like flamethrowers. Great against enemies without their shields/armor and the little drone you send out for reloading can actually draw enemy aggro, giving you some space and time to take out the enemies

My favorite SMG is easily the Kaoson. I do have a softspot for the Boomer aswell though.

I cant believe how much I missed the bandits counting down the top 10. It made me remember that's how i found your channel way back in Borderlands 2 days and I've been a fan ever since!
I saw the list and thought "Hm, number 1 is Plasma Coil, number 2 is Flipper". That much I was certain. :-D From my own experience, I really like Kyb's Worth, especially in radiation and on Moze,, the splash potential is insane! Good video!
The Needle Gun is one of my favourite gun to use in BL3 love it with Amara but hands down my go to SMG is the flipper. Love the list keep up the good work K6
I love the Flipper and Plasma Coil. Glad I spent the time I did farming those weapons. The Flipper is definitely one of the easier weapons to farm-it’s my main weapon for Fl4k. With his Fade Away skill, this weapon doesn’t just shred, it slaughters. Can’t tell you how many bosses this gun helped me cheese
Copped all the dlcs and the game during Christmas this year while it was on sale. Been having a helluva fun time playing it and checking out these vids. I'm in the top 10 launchers waiting room!!!

I’d add the SF Force into this list, that gun is really damn good but nobody talks about it at all. Definitely deserves a video of this gun rocks.
Yeah the SF Force is pretty strong gotta go farm it again.
Too bad, it is still bugged, making it quite the pain to farm. But a fun gun nonetheless

Blood starved beast’s flavour text and name being Bloodborne references makes it worthy of the #1 spot.
I got the plasma coil during this one run in the Armed Race and never looked back, It's absolutely insane on a Ties that Bind Amara build
I like the Ion Laser from DLC 1, especially on Moze or Amara. It's a fun gun to use.
I'd have to say that my personal favourite smg has to be the Oldridian from dlc 2, I love it's special effect of when reloading it can switch elements, and on top of that can come in all the elements too, making for a pretty good weapon in my opinion.
I remember watching back in bl2 of him grinding sham shields, as usual another banger of a vid

So I've been using the plasma coil for a while now, didn't know it was good enough to be in a ranking system, but I remember getting it one day and I just noticed it was really good at laying waste to anything. Good to know I had a secret good luck charm without knowing it
I got a Dark Army+ (i know there is a ++ version, too) SMG from the Diamond Room, that absolutely shreds and is one of my favorites in the game. I have yet to see this covered on any list like this though, which is really surprising to me
In the hands of Zane the Dark Army is lethal. Zanes clone can be specked to hold a copy of your gun. When you hold the Dark Army, so will the clone and the clones Dark Army also has its own drones added to your drones. That's a lot of fire power!
Got the plasma coil recently. A little bit before that I started playing in mayhem 10 and without action skills was just whittling down health with either a butcher or breath of the dying. Now shit melts and I barely feel the need for an action skill lol love this damn gun

#5 is in it's own category to me as an SMG and stand at 2nd fave, only cause farm is shiver inducing on PS4. It's sooo good on Zane too with cryo/clone.
#4 Doesn't get the love it deserves imo. The bigger the enemy is with this SMG, the faster it hits the ground. Mobbing it feels innacurate, but again those big enemies.... toast
#6 Is my favorite. Pain to farm and get correct Prefix/Element/Full Auto, but wow this can shred.
#3 Yep, very cool SMG, and not "horrible" to farm once ya use that method (bring movement speed)

I saw this video a while back and I am near the end of dlc 2. Just used a diamond key and I chose the Plasma Coil for the weapon as I remember you saying it was really good. Didn't realise it was your number one Smg! I did have a few Blood Starved Beasts from the Black Market vending machine, but I got rid of them as I didn't think I would ever get all of the dlc. Kicking myself now!!! 😵😵😵
The Sleeping Giant can work like the Torrent, especially if you're playing Moze and have her skill that increases fire rate with each stack.
My favorite SMG in B3 is sadly a one time per account drop. But at lvl 50 it melts even lvl 60 enemies.

The Dark Army is the best smg... in the hands of Zane.... the gun will spawn drones, and if you have Zanes clone specked to hold a duplicate copy of your gun, he will also hold a dark army with its own set of drones as well. You can effectively have 8 guns at once on one enemy!

Blood-Starved beast is my favorite smg in the franchise. Its soooooo satisying and it feels like 0 recoil. Plus it hits hard as shit

Bl3 is fine tuned for the end experience and I went into it with the wrong mindset.

Proprietary license really means what its name says. It has licensed proprietary tech from other manufacturers.
I really like crader em-p5, but on mayhem 10 it is too weak without revolter. But it is good to hold it to get extra speed.

I gotta go with the predatory lending. Not for endgame, but early on when your normal smg ammo pool is small.
My favorite Hyperion smg is Love Machine. I found it early on in the game and it was my go to. Second is the Handsome Jackhammer. Those two guns may be small beans to some, but they were good for me. I haven't found any of the others on this list, but I'm going to.
I recently came back to the game. So this type of list and this weapon f*****g rocks/sucks is greatly appreciated.

What you said about the Kaoson, Sand Hawk, and Yellowcake being nerfed is very funny because the Sand Hawk is still one of the best sniper rifles in this game, even if it never got a buff.
Hey K6 I recently downloaded the directors cut and noticed 4 pieces of gear in the vault card menu got any recommendations on what pieces of gear to go for. Love the content 💜
I may not be K6 but, in-terms of gear from the Vault Cards.
Vault Card 1: Guardian Angel Shotgun, that's it.
Vault Card 2: Shlooter (if you're alright with the buff if you'd prefer not to that's your decision)
Guardian Angel and Schlooter are the only ones worth it imo
I struggle with arms race so I've not had the opportunity to use any of the legendaries like the plasma coil
One of the best smgs I have used was the XZ41. With the shock elemental build for Amara, it tears through enemy shields and health. Each bullet has a ricochetting effect that will wipe out hordes of enemies if stacked together. Especially with the +75% (min/max) weapon damage buff. This SMG works extremely well when paired with any grenade mod that has the anointed effect "On Grenade Thrown, Weapon, Grenade, and Action Skill Damage are increased by 25% for 6 seconds".
I speak from experience so I don't have much (useful) information that could be provided. I believe it spawns in multiple elements. I use the shock elemental variant of the XZ41 with Amara.
I have compared it to the Cutsman and it is significantly better. Both being at Mayhem 10 Level 72 requirement, of course.

i feel like troubleshooter should be honorable mention at least. it isnt the strongest or anything, but the ability to adapt to enemy's element is bloody convenient.

I'm still playing through the campaign and everything said about the Plasma Coil is true. I got mine at lvl 15 and used it until the early 30's. I'm lvl 43 currently and I can't bring myself
to sell the thing. I keep it in the locker. Getting rid of it just feels wrong.
The DNA also has a nifty cup holder in front of its sight as it doesn't have an elemental switcher.
Flipper for life :D Although I do have almost all of these in my item stock and play with all of them from time to time.
Tediore nerf is probably the only nerf that generally annoys me like hell, its literally Tediores hole thing
For real. I was actually actively happy to find and use tediore in bl3 more than ever compared to bl2 or tps. Then the nerf happened and the only tediores I like finding are the Anarchy or Needle Gun pretty much.

Hey Ki11erSix could you should do top 10 shotguns next? I've always felt like shotguns are kinda underwhelming, so it would be cool to see what you think some of the best ones are
Butcher, Convergence, Hellwalker, and Anarchy shotguns are definitely making the list
I also farmed a bloodstarved beast ad corrosion weapon and yeah, evil lilith is annoying to farm^^

Need some advice. I was playing bl3 when it arrived on steam on day 1. was my full time game and completed every thing up untill the guns love and tentacles. I played some yesterday but feel completely lost and really don't know were to start again. I am currently on the bounty of blood dlc. Idk were to start and if its even worth continuing. Love the content
Playing through the DLCs and getting some of that gear while hitting max level then do Proving Grounds and Slaughter Maps and then Takedowns and Hemovorous and Vermivorous.

On my main, Moze, I've tried almost all of those weapons. The Blood Starved disappointed me the most. I spent like an hour farming one, and then it was just underwhelming. The Plasma Coil is okay strong, I guess. But absolutely nothing so far hold a candle to the Flipper. I'm not sure if maybe the anoints have a big say in my experiences, but the Flipper really is all I need by now.
Annoinments are almost stronger than the guns in certain cases, especially on moze
hey K6 could you do a top 10 of each weapon type again now that the game should be seeing less nerfs and buffs and no big changes should be happening. it's like you said with the DNA, just a few weeks ago it wasn't even considered on this list lol

Smg's have pretty much always been THE darling weapon class in Borderlands franchise.
I use EM-P5 (logistics and single target), D.N.A. (bossing) and Redistributor (mobbing) on my Violent Momentum Zane build. Haven't had this much fun with smg's since BL1 Hellfire 🔥
The only thing missing is the Dark Army with THAT max dmg part... and it's starting to trigger my BL2 farming ptsd 🌚
I have 3 of them (Dark Army), don't ask how long it's taken, and especially don't ask about the 4 that I threw away after level cap increase.
Possibility of doing launchers next?
Kaosan and Flipper is my all time fav for regen ammo+splash moze.
As of now im still farming for the Adapting Lethal Kaoson and having no luck... but it still shreds without the prefix.
Haven’t touched bl3 in like a year but is the night hawkin not good anymore?
I remember waiting until I reached max level to get my embers purge on my moze, I was so exited, it was great, but then gearbox hear I was happy, and raised the cap to 72, the disappointment made me so sad
The troubleshooter is my current fave on moze

Only very minor downside for the plasma coil is no full auto, (for me).
Haven't gotten a maliwan company relic to team up with it. I tried.... A lot. Even mayhem 0 on dlc 6's final boss.
I'm still not wild about the DNA. Its charge time before firing just seems so much longer than just about any other Maliwan, even with the occasional reduced charge time bonus.

Favourite SMGs:

2. SF Force
3. Tsunami
4. Devoted
5. Redistributor
SF Force, Tsunami and Devoted honestly dont get enough recognition. They are all top tier SMGs and yet I barely see anyone talking about them or even implementing them into a build.
Tsunami is basically the original Flipper but not as strong
