I don’t mind sewing big elements together (head, limbs, large ears) but I LOATHE sewing small, fiddly pieces on. For example, I have a really cute mouse pattern. Its arms and legs are literally 2 sc in a MR, and the tail is a 9CH & SLST, and the pattern calls for those to made separate and sewed on. Totally surface crochet those!
As I have been crocheting for a long time(longer than you have been alive) Patterns with sewing are so much more detailed. I can not stand when new creators on YT are critiquing patterns based on how fast they can make it. We are talking published authors! No one is making them use or purchase a pattern. I have seen someone with 8 months if crochet, blame pattern after pattern. I appreciate the time and effort writing a pattern takes. So thank you so much for making a pattern based on the aesthetic over speed if project. I may just have to stsrt a crochet channel and review patterns based on knowledge! Sorry to rant love, just makes me cranky to judge other people's work with no knowledge 😤
I use bobby pins as stitch markers, because I’m constantly losing mine too, and bobby pins are cheap! 😂 Also tapestry needles. I don’t know where those disappear to 🙄 I think my favorite thing you crocheted are the sea turtles…those are SO cute! I love fruit themed animals 😍
Leaving the stitch markers in the plushie, the struggle is so real. Especially when my meds start wearing off for the day and the ADHD starts taking over again. I've started using those bulb shaped safety pins as markers and leaving them in and just adding a new one every row. This gives me a very noticeable line of markers so I remember to take them all out. Plus I can add really cute charms to a few of them and use those to mark places that serve as a sort of safety net if I need to frog like when I changed from, say, every stitch around to rows of decreases. Sooo helpful.
I did find it a bit interesting since I've gotten into crochet to see how many people don't like sewing. I actually prefer sewing. The no sews where you work in the pieces is more frustrating to me. I'd rather do no sew patterns where it's all one piece, rather than work in the separate pieces, or just sew. Sewing can be pretty meditative too. :)
I also find sewing relaxing! I think that no sew patterns are popular because they are quicker to make when you sell products at markets. I don’t mind either!
Yeah. I also don't mind sewing at all. And absolutely it feels like there is a lot of pressure to make patterns as low-sew as possible. But sometimes it just doesn’t work. I’ve come across some really REALLY convoluted ways that people have tried to make stuff no sew and I end up modifying the pattern to add sewing to make it faster. 😂 So I’ve just given up on trying to please the masses in this regard. I’m not making my and other crocheters lives harder to save 1 minute of sewing.😂
I bought the little cat two, and it is the most precious thing ever!! I am currently working on a toothless for my brothers birthday, and it’s a lot of work
I do not mind sewing. I’ve been knitting and crocheting for a loooong time and I’ve made about 200 plushies in that time. I’d say less than 10 of those had little to no sewing. IMO, the detail you get when you’re willing to sew the pieces on makes for exceptional FO’s. I just finished a few of the Feathered Friends birds (since you’re in your pigeon era, you might be interested in checking out other birds too 😊). I really, really appreciate when a designer includes where to place each piece!!!!
I love all your videos so much! I know you’re a crochet channel but I was inspired by you to try knitting socks (I’ve only ever crocheted)! I was just wondering how you started and learned. I’m completely lost on where to begin! I’ve bought yarn and needles!
soooooo cute!! i love the cat, annie!!!! the colors you chose were perfect! i don’t mind sewing that much, but there’s something so pleasing to my brain when i’m crocheting everything all in one go😌 i once had to sew every single spike on a dino i made & didn’t love the way it turned out. i tried it again by crocheting it in as i went instead & liked it better that way. there is definitely a time & place for sewing!
21:30 I love when people ask what I'm making :) rn I'm actually working on a medium-sized octo! It's in pastel colors, and I personally find it adorable! thanks for asking! Also, love the things you made in this video!
Smitha Deepak has a similar hack for using foam applicators to apply eyeshadow which IMHO is much better! Same with the transfer proof lipstick. Thanks Dominique!
I always lose stitch markers 😂 I even keep them in small pouches on a binder ring or in an old empty pill bottle.. doesn’t matter how I store them they always go missing!! I ended up buying a bunch of Bobby pins so I can use those as stitch markers too. I find them super helpful as stitch markers, so hopefully those don’t go missing 😂
If you want a cute and easy pickle pattern, I recommend the one minute tutorial from Mary Makes. She does it in a size four worsted weight yarn which I tried, but I also did it in a bulky yarn like Parfait Chunky and it turned out so cute! I love your channel btw, and all of the projects you make are so cute and inspiring!
I always enjoy your videos! I’m currently working on small things for my upcoming market! Also- I had a heeler for a short time but we unfortunately had to rehome him because I had 2 toddlers at the time and he was constantly biting their heels 😂 keep up the good work!
I used to dislike hand sewing, but I learned to embroider and with practice I got very good at it. Now at close to 70 it’s very meditative. I too love the detail you can add to garments and crochet projects. Idea: you could sew an udder to the cow and it would truly be a girl. Your blue Clarence is a steer cuz he has no udder or boy parts. Enjoy your channel, but being from S. California you talk kinda fast. I was raised in N. California, but live in Texas and we all talked as fast as you do. I really have to listen to catch all you say. Guess I’ve lived here so long my listening skills have gotten rusty. Howdy!
I find it to be meditative too!! I love hand embroidery also so maybe that’s why. I love the udder idea! Haha I am sorry I talk fast! I’ve been told that before😂 there is a feature in the settings where you can slow down the video to .75x and I know that helps a little! 🤣 thank you so much for being here!
I really don’t mind sewing either. It’s nice to crochet a no-sew pattern every so often, but not all the time. I think as a designer you could seriously be limiting yourself if you only design no-sew patterns! Love all the makes by the way!
Thank you so much!! ❤️ this is the one I have, I love it! X9 Colorful Keyboard and Mouse... www.amazon.com/dp/B08W4WX9MH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It’s pretty inexpensive too! (:
I’d rather have a pattern with sewing and a more detailed finished project than a less-detailed no sew item. All the “no sews” are starting to look alike.
Did you modify the original all from jade pattern to create all those fruit turtles?! 🐢 if so that’s amazing and I’m jealous 😂I want to make all of them but I don’t think I could free hand those mods
I hated sewing at first but after watching a plushie seeing tutorial that introduced a way that worked for me I don’t mind it. My unpopular opinion? I kind of hate surface crochet 😅
for me ,I don't like sewing anything on if the plush is small, but if I'm making a large bear or something it's fine by me. I am still working with the same pack of stitch markers I bought back in 2020🤷🏽♀️ Do those resin furls drag on bernat/posh/parfait chunky??
I don’t mind sewing in a pattern as long as the instructions make it clear where the parts need to go. When a crochet pattern has parts that need to be sewn but do not include details about placement then I’m less likely to complete the pattern or make it more than once.
i don't mind sewing, and think it's fun sometimes. But it's only a pain for me when i'm trying to line up the stitches and hold the piece down correctly while sewing
I much prefer low-no sew. It's not that I don't like the look of sewing, but I just suck at it. It does deter me from buying patterns if they require a lot of sewing. I don't know if it is because I'm lefthanded, but sewing just never works out properly for me.

Haha yes I’m always losing tapestry needles too!! Especially in the couch! 😂 and thank you so much!! 🥰
i personally love sewing. i really like seeing the plushie come together, i think its also relaxing, but idk that might be just me.
Leaving the stitch markers in the plushie, the struggle is so real. Especially when my meds start wearing off for the day and the ADHD starts taking over again. A pale yellow / white base would have been cute for the tomato turtle, making it mozzarella for a caprese salad 🤤
Yeah. I also don't mind sewing at all. And absolutely it feels like there is a lot of pressure to make patterns as low-sew as possible. But sometimes it just doesn’t work. For market prepping I prefer no/low-sew but if I want a break or want to do more of an eye catching item for it I don’t mind sewing!
Those stitch markers are insanely cute!
I love my Furls hooks! That ice cream cone is super cute.
I bought the little cat two, and it is the most precious thing ever!! I am currently working on a toothless for my brothers birthday, and it’s a lot of work

it definitely depends on the project!
Hello from southern california!! Yay for all the crocheting!
Oh my goodness - pigeons are my favorite animal! I'm so excited for when your Paul pattern releases!
21:30 I love when people ask what I'm making :) rn I'm actually working on a medium-sized octo! It's in pastel colors, and I personally find it adorable! thanks for asking! Also, love the things you made in this video!
Definitely a smaller bobble.
I'm in love with the pigeon
I agree! And thank you so much! (:
Thank you for sharing. I really like the fruit turtles! too cute 🍓🐢 😊❤

Cuteee! The velvet looks so good on the pigeon!
I don’t mind sew patterns! I like both!

I love bobby pins as stitch markers, they stay in space and are cheap. The only downside is they are all over the floor of my house
I use bobby pins for stitch markers
I always enjoy your videos! I’m currently working on small things for my upcoming market! Also- I had a heeler for a short time but we unfortunately had to rehome him because I had 2 toddlers at the time and he was constantly biting their heels 😂 keep up the good work!
I love the tomato turtle she’s too cute!! 🥰 I’m making a cactus pot plant 🪴
I actually don’t mind sewing because I’ve been doing amigurumi for over 13 years now and back then no sewing wasn’t even a thing 😅
Hahaha it definitely seems like a recent trend!! I don’t mind sewing either!
I love knitting socks but, I got second sock syndrome real bad, so now I do two at a time socks.
I used to dislike hand sewing, but I learned to embroider and with practice I got very good at it. Now at close to 70 it’s very meditative. I too love the detail you can add to garments and crochet projects.

I think my favs have to be turtles and the cow
this was the first video of yours that I'm watching and you go and name that tiny pigeon Paulina☺🐦its only almost my name but still funny coincidence
The pickle looks more like a cactus. Adorable either way! Great work. Tfs
That is so true, it definitely looks like a cactus! Thank you so much (:
I love the cat stitch markers and I don't even like cats lol
ANNIE PLEASE SHOW US HOW TO MAKE THE LOAF CAT PLEASE OMG ITS SO CUTE AHHH ❤🥰
Use big safety pins for stitch markers
I like sewing on pieces and weaving in ends 😮😂
I love watching your videos while I crochet they are so fun to listen to. Not crochet related but where did you get your keyboard?! I love it! ❤❤
Thank you so much!! ❤️ this is the one I have, I love it! X9 Colorful Keyboard and Mouse... www.amazon.com/dp/B08W4WX9MH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

My feelings on sewing vary with the type of yarn I use. Sewing with Sweet Snuggles makes me want to scream sometimes 😅
i don't mind sewing, and think it's fun sometimes. But it's only a pain for me when i'm trying to line up the stitches and hold the piece down correctly while sewing

can you do a tutorial for clay stitch markers?❤
is the cat loaf no sew?❤
It’s low sew, the only part that needs sewing is the tail!! 🥰
I don't mind sewing at all.
I can’t do this it’s to hard for me
