I loved watching this while I crocheted! I organize my yarn by color, and then all of my 'specialty' yarn I keep in a different tub. I am hoping to get my own crochet room soon so I can move out of my VERY overcrowded bedroom! Thank you so much!🧶
🧶. Only about 6 months into crocheting & needing to keep things organized. Thanks for your video. It’s nice to know it’s something we all struggle with.
🧶🧶🧶I'm wondering if you would ever consider making a video that explains the best yarn for amigurumi and how to use chenille yarn? Your videos and your love of amigurumi inspired me to try it (I'm a longtime garment maker) but I'm REALLY struggling with the chenille yarn aspect of it. I'm using sweet snuggles lite and the yarn just keeps breaking and it's impossible to sew things on my projects with this yarn because it is so brittle, it's a bit discouraging. I'd love to hear your input and how you get past the rough parts of using chenille yarn!
🧶I have most of my yarn in clear boxes with clear lids and they are approximately the same height as my ball of yarns. I stand the balls beside each other so that I can see all the colours that I have without even needing to open the box. Also the boxes are divided by weight, and in the boxes I like to organise by colour. This way all the balls in one box can be used together. Also I like the boxes with lids so that the yarn doesn't get so dusty. And they are way easier to stack this way. Even though most of my boxes live under my bed
I do not have a ton of space right now so my yarn stays stored away but I have it organized by material and weight so if i’m looking for a specific thing it’s easy to see if I do or do not have the color I’m wanting. I’m sure it will not always be organized like this but for now it is what works best! 🧶
I'm organizing my yarn stash, i got a yarn winder for the first time today, and I just love your positive and bright energy! I managed to wind about seven cakes during the entire video and I'll definitely be sticking around for more uploads. Keep doing what you're doing Annie!!
❤ Your vid just saved my sanity! Lol Between new & older yarn taking over my walk in closet that I can no longer walk into without squeezing myself though the door& Amazon Christmas gift deliveries piling up in there! Lol OMG, I get surprised too when I find something that was buried deep in there! 😂
I love the little yarn winder cake maker! I work all the time so I have very little time for crochet but I have a corner pile by the couch and it’s terrible and it does not make you want to sit and crochet. I think if I wound them up they would fit in my basket and make it feel so much better.
🧶 I use the ikea kallax cube storage with the insert bins to organize most of my yarn by weight/brand and label the bins so I know what's in them. I also use open storage baskets for small balls of yarn, and leave them in view as useful decoration 😊
I've been organising my yarn by colour in one of those little tiered trolley things (I got mine from Ikea) and have my current wip contained in a large fabric bag (I'm crocheting a granny square blanket) next to the couch in my living room so it's easy to pick up and put down when I'm not working.
Thanks for the great tips!🧶 Right now most of mine are separated by project/go together in ziplock bags & in fabric & plastic bins on book shelves in my office. Not always the prettiest, but I have limited space & I can easily find what I want.
Enjoyed this video! 🧶 I don’t have that much yarn so it is currently under the bed in a plastick box with all my other craft things 😂 also no storage in the flat 😢
Oh my god I haven't finished the vid yet but I just had an idea regarding the books! If you want to send them out with notes, you could do giveaways every so often with a book or two and some yarn themed together to make for a cozy project and some coordinated reads! You could even make them a mystery and only share the theme so the winner can guess what the books/yarn might be. Of course you're not obligated, so please don't feel pressured if this would be a difficult thing to organize (I am an ideas person much more than a reality person LOL). But anyway, I just wanted to share in case it was something that might resonate with you.
Ooo I love that idea!! It would be fun to send out a pattern with it too!! I’m the same way with all the ideas, hopefully I can put it into action soon! 😂❤️
Your video got randomly suggested to me and I decided to watch for organization ideas... Subscribed the moment I realized you're wearing the Speak Now Cardigan... 😉

Floating shelves for the books as art on the walls?
I'd love to book swap with you! I think we read a lot of the same books, but I'm also in a book club and we read a lot of different genres!
