Bass fly tying, Simple Foam Frog

  • Here's an easily tied, but effective little foam frog. fish it around grass and other cover for all those frog eating gamefish. Anything that eats a frog will have a go at this, black bass, toga, pike... whatever. Tie some and catch some hawgs.

    Just learning going to try this . If I can tie a decent Deer hair fly popper I should be able to tie this . Really nice frog .

    Great,easy to make pattern. I`ll be doing some of these,to catch jack pike,chub and possibly perch,off the top on the river Nene,down my way .Thanks for sharing it.

      +marcodsv this is more subtle and less poppy, I actually just uploaded another foam frog video this morning that is a bit more of a chugger.

    Nice frog, what thickness is the foam you are using? It appears to be much larger than the standard 2 or 3MM. Perhaps 6MM?

      hi Ron, it's 6mm crosslink foam from hairline, it's thicker and a bit tougher too. Glad you are enjoying the videos.
