You are so right. I have a feeling he is a highly intelligent person. Unfortunately many highly intelligent people fall into addictions and waste away their potential. I’m rooting for this guy to climb his way out of that fate. He’s super smart and capable. He can do it!!
That's a very dangerous side of alcoholism. These people might drink and drive easier, since they have been told so many times that "they don't seem to be drunk". They start to drink while working, while taking care of kids etc. They don't seek help on time because they can still somewhat continue living normal lives.
Correct. Functional alcoholics are very common in my area. German catholics. We have beer at every function. It's been that way in our history going back to our German ancestors.
I can see why this guy is successful despite his alcoholism. He showed up drunk to this interview but still comes out looking more rational, more fair, and more self aware than a lot of Caleb’s guests. If this is how he shows up to work every day it actually shows some insane emotional and mental strength. If this guy just overcomes his addiction he could absolutely kick ass
alc could be keeping him level headed. I think people removed from addiction think it always is stripping someone back vs. helping cover / bury things. he could have a lot of anger, depression or anxiety sober that suppresses his abilities normally.
I did end up reading this and it makes me feel really good. I have more updates on Reddit and haven’t really been active on TH-cam. - Garrett from the ep

Garrett was honest, aware of his flaws, and not defensive when questioned. He gave himself a score of 3/10 which matched Caleb’s assessment of 4/10. Garrett was a fantastic guest and I hope we can see him return in a future episode with good news.
This guy is proof that high income doesn’t necessarily equate to financial maturity. He’s obviously very intelligent and highly sought after in his field. He makes nearly $70K a year by himself than my wife and I make together and we live very comfortably. He should be pounding money away and be able to comfortably retire in his early to mid 50’s.
This hurts to watch a guy with a fantastic income throw his life away by the bottle, if you're reading this Garrett your life is worth more. I hope you find your path to sobriety.
yeah, such a waste of a fantastic income, I mean average income guys I almost understand, poor guys, totally, but this guy, such a waste. I can see why it hurts you to watch this ... /sarcasm off can you see the problem in what you said yet? But I hope you just find it sad to see a man do a number on himself via addiction and hope he finds his path to sobriety. The part about his income and it hurting you to watch it were a strange typo I hope.
I’m a recovering alcoholic and it’s not as complicated as you are making it out to be…the first step is he needs to decide to give up drinking for good. Yes, he will need therapy, and AA, and treatment for his trauma. He will need help to learn how to live sober. Absolutely, all of that is long and hard. But the first step is he needs to make the decision to give it up for good. After that, he’ll find plenty of support because many have made the same difficult journey.
Holy crap, the amount of integrity Caleb showed by making sure he actually had sober consent to post this interview is astounding. Lot of respect You got this Garrett, all of us are rooting for you!! ❤
There was points I was tearing up in this episode, this guy reminds me so much of my husband when he was in the midst of his addiction. High functioning, making loads of money but inside he just didn’t know his worth. It’s a hard thing to watch someone you love go through. I hope if Garett sees this knows he really is worth it!! People love you. I remember I never asked my husband to get sober when we first dated. I didn’t want to push him more into it to defy someone. I knew he had to make that decision, for himself. He now says how much better life is sober then it was when he was high.
As the daughter of a father who used to be a "functioning" alcoholic that went from making 200k+ a year, with so much adventure and love for life, to his life essentially falling apart around him until it ultimately consumed him, I would love to see nothing more than for Garrett to get the help he needs and overcome this. My father was too far gone and unfortunately lost his life in 2021, but when his addiction wasn't getting in the way, he was the hardest working person I knew and watching him kick ass in life made me so happy. It's heartbreaking to see so much potential and love for life lost. I hope Garrett can overcome this and get the help he needs! Love Caleb for being so considerate throughout this interview.
Thank you for the really nice words. My dad is also an alcoholic but he did very well in life and retired early. He’s still with us thankfully. - Garrett
Garret, if you read this, please know that admitting you are an alcoholic and understanding you have a problem is so brave and means you can get better. My mother is an alcoholic. She was beautiful with so many friends and it’s broken her life in every way. She lost her house and family, has her drivers license permanently suspended. She’s had 8 brain surgeries from car accidents and falling. She’s brain damaged. She had a large inheritance that’s completely gone. She has no friends and is filing for bankruptcy. She was never able to admit she has a drinking problem. Please take the steps to stop drinking because it will ruin your life and cause irreversible damage.
Man, that's rough... Do you know what started her road to hell? I stay away from substances (even coffee), but even so, your mother clearly wasn't always as she is now.
I want you to know I did read this comment and it means a lot. It’s hard to struggle with these addictions and I have a father who is also an alcoholic. - Garrett
As an addiction counselor I just wanted to say you did an amazing job talking about consent and caring about the impacts on Garrett that this episode could cause. Seeing how much you care about avoiding exploitation of guests really drives home for me that you are the right person to be making this content and doing it ethically!! Thank you for all you do!
Because of your content, my husband & I paid off our car, built an emergency fund and put 20k into retirement at 22/23. We welcome our first child next month & are in such a better position thanks to all the lessons we’ve learned from your channel. Thanks Caleb! ❤
im a therapist too studying for my independent exam… we get these questions on the practice tests all the time. would the “right choice” be to stop the session and refer to appropriate care if a client shows up drunk to session??
Good question but if the guy has put in so much effort - time to fill in the application and money to fly over there sober- then we can assume he fully consented sober and used to alcohol to help him through the social anxiety. He is trying to help himself and I think referring him to another organization would be counter productive and may even set him back. Atleast he has this video to reflect on and change his financial behavior and focus on his therapy which Caleb is always budgeting for regardless of anyone’s financial circumstances- I don’t think this was destructive and I think Caleb really connected with him especially regarding legos and gave the guy an opportunity to open up. He seems like a hardworking guy who has the capacity to get through his addictions. I hope he does well.
@@wakinglife7065 Absolutely! You bring up some great points. I think that by referring to another provider as the first choice could rupture any rapport and can be detrimental to a client that carries a lot of shame. At the same time, I work to establish and reinforce professional/therapeutic boundaries by exploring the effects that being under the influence during a session can have. It’s a delicate balance between unconditional positive regard and trauma informed care.
@@wakinglife7065 i agree he was so empathetic and being so careful with the situation!! i really respected the episode and how he handled everything. caleb really threw in options that i hadnt even thought about, but as for the guy i do hope he gets better, he seems like he has a lot of internal hurt; also almost scary to see his high functioning alcoholism get him successfully through the show.
@@leeda-xl2ju I think that it is important to consider the state of a client when they appear intoxicated. If they are unable to function, calling for an outside resource is probably the best option. For someone high functioning like this man, he is aware enough to be emotionally and mentally hurt if he was turned away after so much effort to seek help, even if it wasn't addiction help. Caleb did a good job of meeting this man's needs: both giving him the help requested and emphasizing that addiction recovery is the next step. Overall, we must consider the circumstances when treating the person, since broad sweeps will only hurt people more. Best example of that in action would be culturally conscious therapy.
To this guy if you read this: stay strong brother. The fact you can openly admit you have a problem is awesome, get some help so you can kill it at life. Praying for the best
I did eventually read this. I was warned the comments would be mean but most of them have been like this and really kind. Things are going well and I hope to post an update soon. - Garrett
The more of these we see, the more I think Caleb's tagline should be "Putting the PERSONAL into finance." These episodes go deep and for so many guests, it seems the financial issues are very much symptoms rather than causes of the stress in their lives.
Agreed. The treatment of money is psychological. This is a psychological show at its root. Behavior work is therapy. Caleb with a psychology degree would be interesting.
I think a large part of why we all love watching you, Caleb, is because of your heart. This episode is a clear indication that you really are here to help your guests and audience. Thank you.
As a fellow Minnesotan I hope this guy gets the help he needs. I am very soon going to be experiencing a 95k increase in income. I was already planning on what fancy new car I was going to get and videos like this have really helped me stay grounded. I do have some debt from student loans and some CCs. I’m really excited to use this opportunity to put that behind me and start building towards more financial stability. Thanks for continuing to help me stay focused on what’s important.
I respect Caleb for making sure he is not taking advantage of him for views while he’s drunk. Hopefully he gets the help he needs 👍 If Garret feels comfortable I would love to see where he’s at in the future, even if he feels he hasn’t made much progress.
This channel has opened my eyes. I'm not ordering any fast food, eating out or buying crap I don't really need until I pay my 800€ credit card debt. I'm getting rid of unnecessary subscriptions, and I'm only going to keep my debit card. Pinky promise.
I give him props for being honest with his addiction so publicly. I hope he can overcome it. Its a horrible addiction to have. On another note its wild how much he makes and how much debt he has. I hope he can appreciate his blessings soon. EDIT: Mads probs to Caleb for addressing the moral/legal concerns about putting his episode out. It is risky to post this considering how his employer may see it.
I’m very appreciative of everything I have. It’s incredible luck to be in the situation that I’m in. Thank you for the kind words. - Garrett from the ep
I've got like 7 years sober. As soon as I saw his eyes and the monotone speech I knew he was an alcoholic. I was the same way all through my 20's. I hope he decides to dry out. Stay with it bro ✊
My heart breaks for him, I hate seeing people struggle against addiction. I can just see the pain in his eyes. I hope that he gets the help he needs and gets back on track. I believe in you Garret, you got this!
This was such a sad episode with the knowledge that many suffer from addiction and how much it can affect their lives. Garret was very sweet, respectful, and aware of his short comings and didn’t make excuses. I really hope he turns his life around for the better and we see him again. Good luck Garret!!!!
10 minutes in and this is a really incredible episode. I feel for Garrett and I hope he can get the help he needs. If you read this Garrett, you can get through this and come out a better man. You showed a lot of courage in this. Caleb, you're such a caring guy.
So many people struggle with addiction... Thank you Caleb for your integrity and compassion towards Garret. Garret my dude, your life matters. Edited: After watching, 4/10 is the highest I've seen in awhile.
As the former spouse of an addict... Garrett you are a beautiful human worthy of the love you are given. That love can not be taken advantage of because you are suffering. To his partner: you are worth the peace of having a home and life without the pains of addiction. I so hope you get help and earn the life you deserve. And just like everyone else on here, all the props to Caleb for handling this with integrity, love, and grace.
This show has literally helped me catch fraud by making me check my finances regularly. Just caught a bunch of fraudulent charges during my weekly coffee and financial audit morning time. Thanks Caleb!
This is the scary side of addictions. Whether that be alcohol, gambling, porn, weed, etc. too much of anything is never a good thing. Everyone stay safe and seek help if needed. Rewire your addictions into healthy ones (gym, diet, personal growth).
I absolutely loved the way Caleb handled this episode. So much empathy on how to handle going forward. Takes courage for this young man to come on and admit his alcoholism. I am sure he will help many others in a similiar situation. I really and baracking for him to get pass this addiction and have a amazing life which he deserves. Dont give in to addiction. We the audience are all behind you.
Dam I really hope he finds help and gets his life in a better place for himself. Hes worth it. I feel for Caleb. He gets trauma dumped so much lately. I get people have issues which translate into their finances. Caleb does his best to navigate their issues. But I'm starting to see that finances + mental health need to be a thing.
Caleb the way that you have grown this and yourself is clearly noticeable. Your swing on this and empathy towards this man made me genuinely cry. My dad is a recovering alcoholic and I have battled mental health for 20 years . Thank you for being human. You mean more then I think you know in this space.
Caleb is such a wonderful human. To pause the show to protect a stranger… speaks volumes of his incredible character. Too many people just exploit people get clicks and likes. Caleb, you are amazing.
I haven’t finished watching yet, but I’m so impressed with Caleb and how tactful and respectful he is. But I’m also so proud of Garrett for having the strength to consent to this video being shown. Please know how much you’re helping others, Garrett, by being vulnerable. Proof that money doesn’t by happiness, nor does it guarantee financial security!
It’s admirable that this guy was so open about his struggles. Being this open an honest about it can’t be easy. There’s probably a lot of shame and guilt, especially going through it line by line. Really feel for him ❤ hoping he finds healing
i feel so deeply for garrett, having known many people who have suffered with drug and alcohol addictions. Listening to caleb read “alcohol, alcohol, alcohol” was quite sobering to hear. I loved watching Garretts personality shine through as he sobered up and also became more comfortable with Caleb. Garrett, you are worth it. Please get the help you deserve. My papa did when he was your age. hes 85 now, with the love of his life and surrounded by fifteen great grandchildren, most of whom he gets to see on a weekly basis. there is a beautiful life waiting for you and alcoholism does not get to continue controlling your future. you got this. really rooting for this one.
These are incredibly sweet comments and it took me a long time to be brave enough to read them but it means a lot to me me. - Garrett from the episode.
Wow. I am blown away. Caleb, great job on showing him the respect and support he needs. This is one of the best episodes you’ve posted. We really hope to see him come back soon.
There is such a sadness in his eyes. I hope he sees value in his life and is able to find other ways to cope. Rooting for your sobriety, we got faith in you! Amazing job Caleb, such great empathy and awareness for him.
Hey there. Garrett from the episode here. I know Hazelden all too well. It really is an amazing place. They pioneered the “Minnesota Method” for a reason.
These episodes have seriously turned into therapy sessions! It's really amazing how people who are struggling (financially, but also I think their emotional and mental state is a big factor in that) seem to almost be drawn to Caleb. They see him as someone who they can trust to give them sound advice and hold space for them. Very beautiful.
I absolutely love how Caleb is always trying to be ethical and do the right thing. Also, I cancelled my credit card last week. When they asked me why, I said, “because I’m not a credit card person.” ✨
Thank you for being so kind and understanding to someone who is struggling. This is why I enjoy your videos, you are mindful of the situations people are in and try your absolutely best to make sure you are doing everything in the best interest of the person on the other side of the table.
I love Caleb's kindness toward the guests that need kindness... and also his sass toward the guests that need sass! I pray that Garrett finds a therapist that can help him, because I get the feeling that if he could beat those addictions he could do soooo well for himself and his loved ones.
My brother is a binge alcoholic as well and it's really tough to deal with. I hope this guy gets his issues figured out because he seems like a good guy.
Wow! What an amazing episode!! Garret actually seems like a decent guy inspite of his harrowing addictions. He is clearly generous to his loved ones. He seems to have a deep sadness within himself. I truly hope he finds the path to sobriety. I really appreciate how Caleb dealt with Garret in a dignified, humane and sincere way... Max respect to him...
❤ for Garrett! As the family member of an alcoholic Ty for putting out your story and being vulnerable and honest. Ty Caleb for being gentle, understanding, and protective of someone in a potentially compromising situation
10 minutes in and i appreciate how you focused on the addiction and made that the focus. Addiction is a serious issue. I know people who struggle with it and you wpuldnt ever know. I haven't finished the episode but i hope he is able to get some help. Dude could do wonderful things without the weight of addiction.
So much respect for Caleb’s tone and approach in this conversation. I saw a lot of empathy and focus on facts and actionable steps. Keep up the work bringing light to these situations will help so many people.
I got sober almost 5 years ago and have saved $38,000 from not drinking and eating like a pig. Sobriety saved my life and can save yours too! Garrett I'm praying for you to find the miracle of sobriety. 1 day at a time.
Life is so much better on the other side and putting down the drink is only the first part. The journey is never ending, but the rewards are beyond worth it. You got this man.
The fact that you thought about this man's well being so carefully and explained it was for his protection gives me hope in just people in general. There are good people and thank you for looking out for him
At 250K a year, he should be able to afford the treatment he needs. However, with many addictions, one has to desire change internally; no one can walk the path to recovery other than the addict. Hope he gets the help he needs, social support required to battle his alcoholism, and sees the best investment he can make for himself is prioritizing his own health. Best of luck, Garrett!
It's not "should" he can, just like potheads with any job can afford 'treatment'. You'll find out that 90% of these people just want others to feel sorry for them, and likely haven't tried.. just tried going 1 year without their fix, least yet 6 months. I get it, people do this from time to time, the point is to not do it anymore, not find excuses every time.
Garrett we are all rooting for you! It can be so hard finding the right therapist/therapy. It took me 4 different therapists to find the right one. Its tough but please keep trying. You deserve to enjoy life. You have your in person support group and this online support too!
This was a very tough episode for me to watch. Until you live it, you have no idea. Garrett, there is so much hope for you. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you find a program that works best for you. You have already completed the first step. Caleb, as always I appreciate what you do and how you do it. Especially when it comes to dealing with real people and real people problems.
At first I found it hard to sympathize because of his insane income but as the episode went on, I found myself relating to a lot of the struggles he's facing. Garrett, things might be rough and getting back on track can be excruciating sometimes but please remember that you are worth it. Give yourself a good life with the people who love you.
You can do it Garrett! You have inherent value. Don't let any kind of disease or finances define you! I hope you can show yourself love & kindness like your support group does! You're a great person and can do great things! I hope you can find help with your addiction - you're worth it!
The way he closes up whenever something is said about people caring about him, that he matters, anything positive, is very relatable. He definitely matters; my honest first impression of this guy is "that's a good man and a genuine dude" I'd love to just hang out with this guy, he seems cool.
Thanks for the nice words. I’ve finally started to read the TH-cam comments as I was warned not to but they’re mostly really nice. - Garrett from the episode
I've never wanted someone to succeed more than this guest. Integrity shown by Caleb is inspiring. My guy drank 150 a month in diet coke when we met almost 11 years ago. It took him months to wean off but it did him so much good
I'm glad Caleb stopped to think about how his *future might be affected* doing this interview. It obviously was approved by him later on when he's in a sober state. Good to see good people be good.💞
My husband was in that situation years ago, making money but a lot was going to alcohol. You can do this dude please know you have family in sobriety. It is possible, we have been sober for 7 years. So many great resources out there
Yeah it’s just difficult because my family is really not sober. I didn’t go in to this in the show but my dad is an alcoholic and my sister is as well. The only person actually sober is my mom. - Garrett from the show
My brother is an alcoholic with a similar story but FAR less pay, like nonexistant pay. Alcohol will ruin you financially, cause you to lie compulsivly, and will ultimately destroy relationships within your family. I know my story is not unique, and that alcoholism has caused deep sadness within many families. I hope he can get the help he needs. I don't think he realizes how good of a position he is in to earn that much money. Sadly, recovery programs don't work for everyone. It's my belief that alcoholism stems from deeply rooted trauma; I hope this man can begin to heal.
Really rooting for this guy. I really hope he can dig his way out of this addiction. Really seems like a good guy whos a bad ass in his field. This is a great step in the right direction
Get the help man. You're not alone with your problem. There's an entire community in literally every city who loves and can support you through facing your addiction and helping you on your path to recovery. It's not easy, but you're worth it. Get help before you destroy your body and your life.
Oh man this is one of the best episodes recently and man I think we are all rooting for this guy to find peace in sobriety and see how amazing his life could be once he gets past addiction. ❤
Garrett...you are worthy. You are SO brave. Kudos to you for taking this important next step! Caleb, this is my very favorite episode and I will share this with everyone I know. Worthy of being your most watched! Hands down! Proud of you both for sharing this!
I hope he gets help for his underlying issue. Substance dependency can be a very difficult problem to get yourself out of and you really need a good support network.
This was a great episode! I want to say a massive thank you to Garret- for being honest and vulnerable. I hope you are doing better now, and love yourself everyday - to make the choices that may seem hard, but are still important! It was good seeing someone who earns on the higher end (whatever that means), has good savings, equity in a home, etc etc, but still struggles with spending. Quite often it’s easy to forget that bad financial decisions happen at any pay! I am always amazed by Caleb’s empathy and desire to do right by everyone he has on the show- and the way his advice changes based on the situations- Big fan of this show & of you Caleb!
Proof that money isn’t everything. I am a former addict and I was BAD. Spent my entire paycheck and then borrowed more from everyone I knew. Thankfully there is help out there that works. The fact he admits he has a problem is the first step to sobriety. I’m praying for you, Garrett! I KNOW you can get sober dear. You’re such a great & intelligent guy with lots of people who love & support you.
Man, it breaks your heart when you can see it in his eyes how much he's struggling with this and KNOWS it. This man needs a sponsor, he just needs someone to hold his hand for a bit and I truly believe he can overcome this. He desperately wants to.
Yeah, he should seek out an AA meeting. My uncle's been running a group for years, there are so many recovered alcoholics who would be willing to drop everything to help walk someone who wants to change down the path to recovery. It's a very supportive environment but people have to want to change.
This episode didn’t even have those highlights of the guests saying particularly dumb things at the beginning which is pretty rare. As funny as those are, you could tell from the beginning this was going to be an actual constructive conversation between two adults looking to find a solution to an issue. Much respect to the both of you and I really hope you find joy in your path to sobriety Garret, you definitely deserve it man 💯
This might be the first episode I’ve seen where Caleb didn’t do his high pitched scolding voice 😂 very intelligent person! I appreciated seeing a different situation than normal!
CALAB you showed your true colors today with this man. You are truly a very good soul and the care and concern you have for your guests is admirable and frankly incredibly rare these days. Thank you for teaching my family finances. we are now completely out of debt and purchasing our first investment property.
Garrett, I wish you all the best. Addiction is horrible. You deserve better. I truly hope that you are ready (sooner rather than later) to get the help that you need to kick this for good. You have a lot of people pulling for you. Caleb, thank you for being so kind and thoughtful during this (and really all) episodes. Can we please get updates on how Garrett is doing in the future?

It’s a hard thing to watch someone you love go through. I hope if Garett sees this knows he really is worth it!! People love you. I remember I never asked my husband to get sober when we first dated. I didn’t want to push him more into it to defy someone. I knew he had to make that decision, for himself. He now says how much better life is sober then it was when he was high.
He was “high” on alcohol?
Caleb? One of the many things that sets you apart from internet financial gurus is your INTEGRITY. All respect and admiration for you, my dude.
@@Mew__ she went to a Taylor Swift concert
My mother was an alcoholic and, thanks be to God, she got sober. I am so so sorry to hear about you and your Mom. ❤
Woo!
Damn y’all must make really good money I only have 6k for saving almost a year now lol
Well done.
Gotta name that baby Caleb it sounds like
This is beautiful
As a therapist I just want to say that I appreciate your emphasis on informed consent and taking into consideration his being under the influence.
im a therapist too studying for my independent exam… we get these questions on the practice tests all the time. would the “right choice” be to stop the session and refer to appropriate care if a client shows up drunk to session??
There isn’t even a “p” in finance. It doesn’t work.
@@camdenmounts1473its not about the letters its about the phrase "personal finance"
Agreed. The treatment of money is psychological. This is a psychological show at its root. Behavior work is therapy. Caleb with a psychology degree would be interesting.
Caleb handled this interview beautifully and with a lot of integrity. Hopefully Garrett can get the help he needs and deserves.
Caleb considering Garrett’s ability to give consent and asking if this is the morally correct thing to do is so refreshing.

Hopefully he gets the help he needs 👍
If Garret feels comfortable I would love to see where he’s at in the future, even if he feels he hasn’t made much progress.
So much respect for how he stopped the interview to check how they should proceed and genuinely did it for concern for his well-being.
All the sober idiots that spend like crazy are way more entertaining in general than this guy- which is a good thing.
This channel has opened my eyes.
I'm not ordering any fast food, eating out or buying crap I don't really need until I pay my 800€ credit card debt. I'm getting rid of unnecessary subscriptions, and I'm only going to keep my debit card. Pinky promise.
Me too, until I pay off my $2000+ in credit card debt
❤❤❤that pinky promise was adorable. But, same here. Good luck to us!!
Since your comment is 6motnhs old now, I hope you already did! 800 ain't much but us Europeans usually take way less debt than the general us person.
The way Caleb stops to make sure he still wanted to do the show even intoxicated. Not only a finical helper, but an overall nice guy!
Intoxicated is his every second of life.
Fantastically handled by Caleb. Really impressive, especially for how young he is
I notice Caleb did not yell at all during this episode. I admire your choice to continue with the episode knowing it may benefit him when he’s sober.
Yes I liked that as well
It's because he doesn't seem to bs his answers like a lot of other guests
I give him props for being honest with his addiction so publicly. I hope he can overcome it. Its a horrible addiction to have. On another note its wild how much he makes and how much debt he has. I hope he can appreciate his blessings soon.
EDIT: Mads probs to Caleb for addressing the moral/legal concerns about putting his episode out. It is risky to post this considering how his employer may see it.
I’m very appreciative of everything I have. It’s incredible luck to be in the situation that I’m in. Thank you for the kind words. - Garrett from the ep

You're a good dude, Caleb. Thanks for being so considerate to the guests state of mind. Addiction is a real beast.
My heart breaks for him, I hate seeing people struggle against addiction. I can just see the pain in his eyes. I hope that he gets the help he needs and gets back on track. I believe in you Garret, you got this!
Running through his transactions was gut-wrenching. So much booze. I feel for him and his family.

This was such a sad episode with the knowledge that many suffer from addiction and how much it can affect their lives. Garret was very sweet, respectful, and aware of his short comings and didn’t make excuses. I really hope he turns his life around for the better and we see him again. Good luck Garret!!!!

So many people struggle with addiction... Thank you Caleb for your integrity and compassion towards Garret. Garret my dude, your life matters. Edited: After watching, 4/10 is the highest I've seen in awhile.
I really admire how to clarified his ability to have informed consent when talking about his finances while drunk and gave him options
We love you Garrett. You’re not alone brother. You’ve got THOUSANDS of people in your corner rooting for you bud. 🤘🏼
This is the scary side of addictions. Whether that be alcohol, gambling, porn, weed, etc. too much of anything is never a good thing. Everyone stay safe and seek help if needed. Rewire your addictions into healthy ones (gym, diet, personal growth).
It’s so sad :(
I absolutely loved the way Caleb handled this episode.
It might be interesting/helpful to have a professional therapist sit next to Caleb and tackle the mental health aspect while he handles the financial!
Caleb the way that you have grown this and yourself is clearly noticeable. Your swing on this and empathy towards this man made me genuinely cry. My dad is a recovering alcoholic and I have battled mental health for 20 years . Thank you for being human. You mean more then I think you know in this space.

i feel so deeply for garrett, having known many people who have suffered with drug and alcohol addictions. Listening to caleb read “alcohol, alcohol, alcohol” was quite sobering to hear. I loved watching Garretts personality shine through as he sobered up and also became more comfortable with Caleb. Garrett, you are worth it. Please get the help you deserve. These episodes have seriously turned into therapy sessions! It's really amazing how people who are struggling (financially, but also I think their emotional and mental state is a big factor in that) seem to almost be drawn to Caleb.

This episode made me so sad. If he can get a handle of his addiction he could be doing AMAZING financially. I wish the best for you buddy.
I've never wanted someone to succeed more than this guest. Integrity shown by Caleb is inspiring. My guy drank 150 a month in diet coke when we met almost 11 years ago. It took him months to wean off but it did him so much good
