  • On this week’s Clear Vision Wednesday episode, we welcome our guest speaker, Naturopathic Doctor Dr. Jenny Tufenkian. She’ll be revealing the intriguing connections between our brain health and vision.
Dr. Tufenkian will be discussing how brain inflammation can alter vision and vice versa, and how changes in vision can trigger a stress response through the vagus nerve.
This response can influence the vicious cycle seen in conditions like long COVID, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). She'll also explain how the neuro-inflammation observed in these conditions is similar to what happens in traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and how a history of TBI can increase the risk of developing long COVID, CFS, or ME.
From her own experiences, Dr. Tufenkian will share how a "vitreous humor" event triggered limbic brain dysfunction, increasing her fatigue, and how long COVID led to increased brain inflammation, making driving challenging until she received help through a neurological eye exam and treatment.
She'll also shed light on the common misconception that vision is separate from the rest of the body, emphasizing how vision is intricately connected to the brain and nervous system. Since vision is a major sense organ, the brain is constantly interpreting signals from the eyes, impacting feedback systems throughout the body and brain.
Tune in to learn more about how addressing your vision comprehensively can have a profound impact on healing from chronic conditions like long COVID, CFS, and ME. Supporting your vision isn't just about seeing better-it's about better overall health.
