What would you recommend for someone who doesint want to oil their got dang knife after every use? I've read way to many rust issue stories to consider this good if I had to depend on it.
OKC makes some fantastic knives. 2 in my own collection and they get a lot of use. I carry multiple Mora kniv high carbon steel blades in my backpack and go bags.
Solid list. Personally, I prefer the mora 511 to the companion. It’s even more affordable, fits my hand better, and doesn’t have rubber on the handle (rubber handles give me blisters). Too thin to pry with though. Easy to replace when broken though. It’s $7 sometimes.
Got a Schrade knife a while back and was not very impressed. There was little pieces of fiber glass on the sheath and that always sucks. Probably why I have a negative association with it now ahahaha 🔪
I've never had the chance to use a Esee 6, but my Esse Junglas 2 has never let me down, maybe weighed me down a little... but it also fills the role of a small machete or a good hatchet extremely well.
That 3rd one, the Ontario sucks don't get one. Although I think they went out of business. The last one is a good choice. 4 1/2 blade tops brothers of bushcraft.
Dont like saber grinds for woods knife, doesnt take long and blade doesnt sharpen good because of thickness. That Essee is a great blade steel and style.
Any knife without a round or oval handle will eat your hand up within 10 minutes of the actual use you will need it for. No serrations on the grip, no square or rectangular handles!
Not interested in hardly any of the more expensive American brands. Don't like the looks, the sheaths, the handles, the blades. Nordic all the way. My list would start with Mora, but go up with more Scandinavian style blades. Hulterfors heavy duty, Mora Kansbol, Terava Puuko, Mora Garberg, Benchmade Puuko. I will admit though, that Ontario looks intriguing
Lion Steel are great knives, but cost way over $99. I am actually impressed by Za Pas, I like the weight, sheath retention and it sits well in my hand.
I dislike every knife on this list as a Bushcraft knife except for the first and last one on the list. For me a scandi grind is the only option for a dedicated Bushcraft knife. And rounded handle also preferably tho I'd sacrifice it a bit for the tops due to other features.

The crazy thing is the cheapest knife on here is also one of the best choices on any budget 👍

The Ontario is a very good choice. I carry mine on every camping trip. Easy to sharpen and holds a proper edge.

The mora is probably the best knife on this list, it's simple and it works, for the $10-20 price point is just icing on the cake
I have the tops fieldcraft and the mora. The tops is a better knife but they are both great.

Mora without a doubt is my go to with my Swiss army or Opinel for my EDC just because of the strict laws here in the UK.

Mora is the only knife I will ever buy again for bushcraft if I need to, the one I have had been used for 3 years

The Cold Steel Republic is $270. It’s even more expensive. And that would be my bushcraft knife of choice. Cold Steel knives are very durable.

I got the tops bob and it is phenomenal best one I've ever bought for everyday carry and yeah you have to pay top dollar for a tops knife

Regardless what knife you're carrying, you should also have a mora in the pack... They're too light and valuable to pass on.
