Mom was a Dietitian, in the norfolk va school System in the 1960s 70s 80s They was called , peanut butter clusters, Back then they cooked meals, that was so great.
I found this recipe in an old church cookbook from the 60s and made them years ago as we were given 2 super large boxes of corn flakes. They were so good. Thank you for reminding me of them.
Hahaha love how Steve said “this stuff makes quite a bit(pause for second)like 6 cups” lol! Such a funny guy. Thank you Sheila for playing this rememberable video, happy holidays.
A quick tip for peanut butter. Spray the measuring cup with Pam. The peanut butter and Kayro syrup will slide right out. And I think, a little shot of vanilla extract and cream of tartar, might be good before you put it on to the corn flakes. I wonder if it would work with Cheerios?!? 🤔
Yes!! My grandma made so many types of no bakes some with oats, corn flakes and coconut! My favorite was the coconut and cornflakes she used peanut butter for the cornflakes no bakes and chocolate for the coconut no bakes!

Yay, finally. I remember something similar way back in the day when the lunchladies would make cornflakes squares. They'd top it with a thin layer of chocolate frosting. I'm so excited to make this, and cover it with chocolate frosting to see if this is indeed the stuff from my childhood. Thank you much for sharing this.❤🙏🏻❤
I remember my old neighbor used to make something similar to this, but it was with reeses puffs instead of corn flakes. Man, they were outstandingly delicious. He gave me the recipe, but I lost it, unfortunately. I'm gonna try this, hoping that it will be like he made.
Sheila, I’m so sorry for his passing!! What an amazing man!! It’s not fair to us who got left behind lol - but how awesome he got to go home!! Live this recipe - thanks for reposting 🙏🏼💜
Reminds me of No Bake Cookies, but what do ya know - here’s another recipe I have never heard of. Thank you so much and thank you for sharing Steve with us again. 😊 💕
For a "Christmassy' look... melted marshmallow and corn flakes with some green food coloring. Maraschino cherry as a red bow to top the cookie shaped reefs. Kind of like Rice Krispie Treats.
I just got done making this and I added Minnie baking M&M,s they are easy and oh so good but where I'm from cornflakes are hard to get merry Christmas .
Omg I miss this hilarious guy 💝🎊🎉 HAPPY NEW YEAR GIRLS🍾🥂💕🎉🎊💝 going to make these & add vanilla & nuts yummy so glad Steve just keeps coming down from heaven & guiding me to these yummy recipes just at the right time RIP my sweet friend 🥰💝
I wonder if you can do these with rice crispiest. I love it it has peanut butter in it. It’s quick and fast to make. Just got my new iPad after almost a year being off it. Glad to see your shows again. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Karo syrup hasn't been tinkered with enzymatically. Once the cornstarch has been milled and liquefied, it's then clarified and bottled. Karo Light is made of light corn syrup, salt and vanilla, while the dark version contains caramel flavoring and coloring, plus salt and refiners syrup in addition to dark corn syrup.
Just keep in mind that maple syrup has quite a strong, earthy flavor. What is the difference between maple syrup and corn syrup? Corn syrup is derived from cornstarch, which comes from the endosperm of the corn kernel. Maple syrup comes from the maple tree's sap, which is boiled and reduced to become a sweet and strongly flavored concentrate
This looks super yummy and easy. Thank you Red and Sheila! . I’m will have with this. Merry Christmas ta all y’all if I don’t comment before then. ✨✌️😋✨🎄✨🌴
it's easier to use a dry measuring cup...spray it first with cooking oil and the peanut butter will just fall out. It's just like peanut butter popcorn balls.
Corn syrup is a food syrup which is made from the starch of corn (called maize in many countries) and contains varying amounts of maltose and higher oligosaccharides, depending on the grade. Corn syrup, also known as glucose syrup to confectioners, is used in foods to soften texture, add volume, prevent crystallization of sugar, and enhance flavor. Corn syrup is distinct from high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which is manufactured from corn syrup by converting a large proportion of its glucose into fructose using the enzyme D-xylose isomerase, thus producing a sweeter compound due to higher levels of fructose.
Look lovely...but far too much sugar for me! I wonder if it could be be done with branflakes, peanut butter and some honey maybe with some oats..I used to make something like that for treats for my dog ...Merry Christmas

In place of the Karo syrup and sugar, you can use a bag of butterscotch morsels. Melt on a low temp, if they burn they become bitter to taste.
Thanks for the tip! Merry Christmas!🎁 👩🍳❤️👩🍳
@@CookingwithShotgunRed Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

I can’t stand maple syrup, it smells like dirty little kids after eating pancakes.
