    I will attend ..the new videos upon this video...I've got no idea what the builder was doing upon no 3&4 acumorlator pistion and check ball missing..and check ball blocking...1&2 pistion I don't understand either..
    Five pinion planets..big money invested for a unsure build.
    SMITTY IS CORRECT
    makes no sense..servo pin short band slippage.pump stuck.
    I've never seen one this way either from my Indianapolis salvage yard.
    Off the wall build there for sure

    I'm about to do another 4l60 E build this will be my second one you helped me with the first and know problems so far from my buddy. But now I'm rebuilding mine this coming up weekend it keeps going out of gear here and there going into 3rd.

    Now I don't feel bad calling up the rebuilder to ask a couple innocent questions. hahaha. The garage ordered it from the rebuilder and I didn't say I was the garage's customer. I figured the rebuilder would realize it. I got charged more than the original estimate on the Remans but hopefully they did a good job. There's some pop - slip action but seems to be surviving some hard driving.

    maybe try smacking the pump side to side from the top first with rubber or wood mallet to break it loose?

    • @IrocinZ
      @IrocinZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if that would have even worked. That pump was wedged in there pretty tight....

      @@IrocinZ is the stuck pump issue caused because the pump halves are not aligned exactly, or is it due to something else.. could a little anti seize compound be put around where the pump set in there?

    here in texas theres people who sell exchange transmissions for 650 to 850.00 and up. supposedly totally rebuilt.. how they can rebuild and sell them this cheap is beyond me.. I just ordered a deluxe kit, with assembly lube, and a new torque converter and it cost me 760.00.. THEN my reverse input drum was bad, the plate guides on the inside were worn, so that was another 45.00.. next, the stator shaft on my pump is worn out and has grooves in it.. I paid another 150.00 for a pump, that isnt even rebuilt. I have to rebuild it, though it does come with new bushings. next, the seperator plate where the ball bearings sit is worn, so theres another 10 bucks for the repair kit. most of the monkeys out there are not rebuilding transmissions they are (fixing ) them the cheapest way possible.. so many people know how to half assed work on transmissions due to the internet, you never know what you will get. thats why I decided to learn to work on them myself.. A few years ago, I traded HVAC work for a guy to rebuild my 4l60e in my 94 silverado.. bought the deluxe kit, a case of brake cleaner, a box of rags.. told this prick, if theres anything else u need, let me know and I will buy it,., we put the trans in the truck, and it had the same problem as before., no third or fourth gear.. I took the trans to another guy, who took it apart, and he told me the only part the guy didnt change,. was the part that failed, the 3rd input piston .. so I called the monkey who had done the work, and asked him abt it,, he said he didnt have the special tool needed to change the seal, but pressure checked it and it was fine... frikin IDIOT..

    • @randy1ization
      @randy1ization ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my truck is a 4x4 so it was alot of extra work pulling and replacing the trans TWICE, laying on hot concrete under the truck in my driveway..

      @@IrocinZ same here im 54, and that was my last time to spend more than 5 minutes laying under a vehicle. theres a guy near me with a lift who will put the vehicle on a lift, and take the trans out once done, he will put it back in,. for 300.00 well worth the cost.

  • @Mike-xt2ot
    @Mike-xt2ot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow. In my book that's two shits ..
    The transmission was a piece of shit and the builder was an even bigger piece of shit.
    That's a damn shame that guy did that. I'm currently building a 92 700r4 and have spent many hours ( probably too many) being as meticulous as possible to make sure the unit holds up under abuse and lasts.

    Smitty what causes wear grooves on the pump stator shaft? mine has alot of grooves covering abt an inch and a half area. does a worn torque converter cause this? thanks ps the bearing in the pump looks very worn

    • @IrocinZ
      @IrocinZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually its from an incorrectly machined stator shaft. Seen alot of those in the early 2000 models...

    Five pinion planets and some new clutches was the total of new parts,driving that check ball to accumulator was not very smart,didnt care if they ruined the case,did you find out why the pump housing was stuck so bad,never seen one stuck so bad,must have drove it in with the largest dead blow hammer they could find,lucky you didnt break something prying it out,just wondering what they did to valve body,take care Smitty,catch you next time!
