Like all gankers, this dude's lazy and a coward. Sees a shieldless potential victim and attacks. But when you fight back, that's too much work for his lazy ass and runs away. TBH, he could have taken you out but why put the effort when there's a noob in a cargo ship somewhere he can club?
I think he tried hard to take me out (real fight lasted for 10 mn - made it short because of repetitive passes) but I suspect he took little taste for his shredded modules at the end :)

Thx! You have to hold the fire button down until the flechette comes in range and the indicator flashes in red. The Flechette can also bounce over and active shield and remain active so you can try time the detonation to hit chosen modules. Yo loved the gameplay man you got my sub, im new to ed and still confused about pvp, how common is it and whats the best way to start getting involved?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Pvp is quite common in Open mode, during Community Goals, at Shinrarta Dezhra or other Engineer systems. San Tu also holds pvp friday night events. It was a nice surprise for me too :). Actually, it is a common trick used in AX combat, with cold orbit ships. But It is viable with some builds in pvp ;-)
Gigachad DBS causes FDL pilot to shit pants
Remote Flechettes look interesting and fun, do they have any engineering on them?
No engineering, but you need to gather materials to unlock them once at a tech broker
They can't be engineered. Like all unlockable Tech Broker items. Unless Fdev adds a pre engineered version to the game.

IMO the FDL was clearly losing the fight...
