    I am 77 and SWORE I would never do seed beading. And maybe I will end up not doing a lot, but something about the meditative process, and the beauty of movement in beaded fringe earrings, really attracts me. Thank you so much for this easy-to-follow, straight forward tutorial, along with the supplies list!

      i am 80 and the same ... I have always done beading and other crafts but not focus on seed beads. I love the colors and the relaxed mood the work creates. However I had no idea of how talented the beads were, they jump and pop all over my couch and my tile floor sends them bouncing. Also I have problems threading the needle so now I am doing so with a dental loop and it works just great. Cheers, and Bead On!!!

      I, too, find beading to be very therapeutic. Although, I won't lie, when starting bead weaving, I found it to be very frustrating until I pushed past that 😄

      @@fireflycarrboro Thanx a lot for sharing this because I was thinking I was losing my marbles along with the beads because sometimes I don't notice a dish of beads or an open end of something I am working on and like magic, there they go flying and literally bouncing on either my laminate or especially the tile floor in my studio. LOL I guess it just goes with the territory and not necessarily an indication of my mental state.

      @@ooohlaa13 Barbara, I didn't think to check back to see if I got any replies to my comment! Yes, those tiny beads are like fleas jumping around! 😄That's a great idea using a dental loop. I already had a needle threader with a thin, flexible wire that goes through the needle's eye. But I have found I can mostly thread the needle as she shows in her tutorial. Cheers! to you, too!

    I love the tutorial. I have a question about the fringe. It looks like each line is pulled so snug that there isn't room for the 2 end ones to lay straight down. They bow out some. Is there some other way to keep them from bowing. Mine did the same thing.

    • @fireflycarrboro
      @fireflycarrboro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching!
      I think the bowing actually has something to do with beading on the round hoop. Typically with the fringe by itself, I don’t have much of an issue. But when I put it on a hoop both ends do bow slightly. I’m honestly not sure how to prevent that.

    • @barbarakennedy4186
      @barbarakennedy4186 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The bowing is because of the hoops, and the fact that the thread wraps around the hoop are closer together than the threads inside the beads. The only thing I can think of, is to use a slightly larger bead between each thread wrap on the hoop. You may need to make fewer rows of fringe, then, though.

    • @ooohlaa13
      @ooohlaa13 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@fireflycarrboro they don't do that as much if you use a more teardrop shaped hoop, and also I am experimenting with making the first 2 and last 2 pieces with smaller gauge beads to see if they will lay better.
