Hermes - All Scenes Powers
Hermes is a recurring character in Blood of Zeus. The swiftest of the gods, Hermes acts as the messenger of Olympus. Like Heron and Apollo, he is a child of Zeus born out of wedlock.

This version of Hermes has showcase the most beautiful and flawless form of superspeed I’ve ever seen in a cartoon or anime. And is super jumping ability is beautiful.

Maybe in season 2 they'll interpret it as making him come up with an elaborate plan or something that only a trickster would come up with, or have him be the only character that can lie without garnering suspicion

When Hera called out Hermès like that when he literally just said good evening and went to go seek his dad, I really stopped kinda thinking she was right in her argument with Zeus.
I always interpreted that scene as her just telling him that the problem is another one of Zeus’ illegitimate kids. Huh

I have no respect for men who have children with multiple women - it’s not real man or father material if you can’t stay with your girl - it only causes hurt to women and children because you can’t be there for them.

Yes he is in the wrong but Zeus, Poseidon probably save the gods pantheon by bringing more diversity to their gene pool consider that they’ve been inbreeding for quite some time.from what history tell, each generation of the Greeks pantheon was weaker than the previous one. Even ares was weaker than most gods. Zeus save an entire pantheon by freeing his sibling and accepting other gods into Olympus.

BTW Hermes is literally the jack of all trades in Greek myths, so its very accurate to portray him as this powerful.

Gotta say, my favorite part of this Hermes is the sound design. The more fluttering sound of him running really adds to the scenes he is traveling in and makes sense due to the feathered sandals as is providing his speed.
Thé fact that Hermès has a long ponytail makes him so much more attractive...Ugh and Ares

At first I thought Hermes' bracer was just the key to the cauldron, but after a rewatch, I realized it was the soul gatherer, and not Hermes himself. So that's why it was the key to the cauldron. And attention to detail from the animators, Hermes no longer had it in final scenes.

Blood of Zeus really grew on me. It depicts the Greek Gods in a new way, spins a tale that is all its own and is just amazing. I even watched the behind the scenes segments they did for it, literally stating Hermes was based a lot on the Flash, which is why he's my favorite character in the show. I'm gonna make my own tale too, not set in BOZ's continuity, but exciting all the same.

What’s strange is that it isn’t the cloak that makes Hermes invisible. At least I don’t think so. It’s his helmet that makes him invisible. Which is why every time he’s wearing it, he should be invisible, not when the hood of his cloak is up.

In fact he at one point lost a foot race to apollo.
The reason he is often granted super speed is due to his talaria usage.
But all that stems from his true power, being the god of borders and boundaries. He’s a liminal deity who’s name literally derived from Herms which marked Greek borders. Traveling, borders between life and death, the limits most olympians must follow, Hermes breaks them all. He could meet Circe on Aeaea, is welcome in the underworld as a chronic deity, and is an Olympian as well. Super speed is a necessary aspect to his true purpose. However from a purely mythological standpoint, it is never portrayed as fast as Flash. It’s usually described to be as fast as the wind. A good show to see his speed is this one.

Jay Garrick uses the speed of mercury and isn’t faster than Wally. And seeing as Mercury is just the Roman combination of Hermes and Thoth, Wally could likely beat Hermes if he was at full speed. Btw I’m an overwatch tracer main who uses Hermes as my name, big fan of the god, but flash has beaten instantaneous teleportation and moves faster than the smallest possible amount of time. It’s ridiculous. Wonderwoman supposedly has the “speed of mercury” and Wally has beaten her before. Same with Shazam. Wally currently is the fastest character in comic book history. There’s tons of instances proving this.
