I've had this jacket for almost a year now and it's the jacket I get the most compliments on. This jacket might be expensive, but if you price out the other stuff that Bond wears, it's probably the most budget friendly option Bond clothing you can get.
Great review Cameron! I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new stealth version of the jacket for $40 at a thrift shop in NYC. Has been a nice, versatile addition to my wardrobe.
Another great review! I had this jacket for a few years now and you hit on all of the main points. I'm usually not as quick to put on this jacket before my others, because it has that cool-waxed feeling on the skin as you mentioned, but easy to adjust to body heat. It does have pretty good wind resistance and it's nice to wear when the weather isn't too hot. Great job with putting this together!
I bought mine about a month before summer and have only warn it twice. I'm an extra large sort of guy and it fits quite nicely, enough room for a sweater or sweatshirt. I do find it warm to wear even open faced, so waiting for the cooler weather to wear. I first heard of the jacket through a couple of reviews and it being in a Jimmy Bond movie was mentioned in the second review. It is a really smart looking jacket. Already had a friend's girlfriend say she is going to steal it from me.
Dude I just got mine and that little trick that you do where you fold the top of the button lining before it hits your collar to open it up around your chest... Genius. Levels the jacket up. I'm stealing that from you.
@@TheOdiousMonk the easiest way to remove odor from a wax coat is to hang it over night on a freezing night. Barring that, throw it in the freezer. Or you can fill a spray bottle with vodka and gently mist it. Leave it to dry and it should be good to go the next day
Never really liked “waxed” jackets I doubt if I would like it. The size large looks good on you. I think Daniel Craig wore size L and size XL in the movie but had them tailored to fit him better.
To be honest as waxed jackets go this one is pretty light. Since making the vid I don't get the wax feeling on my body anymore. So it is already fading a bit. Worth a try on at least
I heard some waxed jackets might feel slightly sticky and might have some distinct smell. Would that go away over time? Also, what happens if you never re-wax the jacket? Would it just look and feel like any other regular jacket?
Hello, I’ve owned this jacket since June this year and I’ve fallen in love with it. Experienced no real distinct smell and at first, the jacket is slightly, but not overly waxy but as you break it and wear it more often, that goes away and doesn’t even cross my mind anymore. I’ve had some wax jackets that I was afraid to wear while driving because of my leather seats but this isn’t an issue at all anymore with my RGT jacket. Deceptively warm too, even though it’s not sticky because the waxed Cotton is so dense. I’ve rewaxed small portions of it, and you apply very little and the rewaxed areas will be a little more waxy and sticky at first then the rest of the jacket, but that fades pretty quickly when you continue to wear it. So if you never rewaxed it, then it would just be a thick cotton jacket but may lose it’s water resistant and other qualities that come with the wax. I would not wear this in any form of warm weather though as you will be sweating big time. Great purchase that will last a lifetime!
Hi Juanma, Sean has summed it up perfectly (Thanks Sean) so I don't need to elaborate more than Sena has. For me though, it felt waxy on the first week. Has never had a smell and is jus the best damn jacket! Everybody needs one in their life.
Really appreciate your review, yours was one of the ones that got me to buy the jacket for myself and I absolutely love it. Probably gonna get another one in a different color soon
I’m in Australia and will likely be wearing this predominantly over a T (if I purchase). That waxy skin feeling, is that something that persists forever or it sounded like you may have said it only felt like that for a couple of weeks? Cheers
I’m 5’10” and 200lbs and got the XL and am happy with my choice. I have wide shoulders, so I fill it quite well. It is a rather slim fit IMO. I can still fit an overshirt or a thin sweater under it. Hope it works for you.
I've had my eye on this jacket for a while now before I knew about the bond connection, which if anything has put me off getting it. Despite that it's still a very good looking jacket and this video has convinced me, so I've decided to go to Rivet & Hide this weekend to buy it.
@@CameronO Thanks for your reply. Just to let you know, I did go to R&H with the intention of getting the rogue territory supply jacket, but I did not buy it. Instead I bought the momotaro type ll sashiko jacket. There was something appealing about it, a denim look jacket but with a completely different texture I just couldn't resist it. Though it was a close call, unfortunately the budget only allowed me to get one or the other but the rogue territory is definitely still on my list.
How would you say this jacket is as a summer jacket? Especially for driving? I live in a super warm, humid place with 90-110° summers and tons of humidity. I also drive a convertible, so I've been looking for a light jacket to protect my arms, but keep me cool. Was considering this one in Olive or maybe 3Sixteen's waxxed bomber. What you were saying about the wax kinda cooling your skin sounds appealling to me honestly lol.
Hi there. personally I feel the 3sixteen is warmer. It has a quilted lining, well at least my one does. The RGT supply is great, no lining has that 'cold' feel to it when you wear it. I would say that would work best if you had to wear something. Though breathability could be an issue as it is waxed after all.
I can only wear this jacket in the crisp autumn or the milder winter days. Any hint of humidity will generate lots of moisture that will get trap between the fabric and your skin I'm afraid. Although the airflow whilst driving with the top down could alleviate that somewhat.
Its a nice jacket, i have looked at it myself, and the Cryptic indigo version. Think you did the right thing, sizing up, to allow for a sweatshirt etc.
Looks great. Considering one for myself. Would you mind letting me know your height? I'm 5'10 and trying to decide between a medium and a large. Thanks.
@@007cheburashka Thanks. I prefer the medium for my height, but with a 40.5” chest I feel a large would be better. Especially since you mention how slim it is.
Hey mate im 6ft. It probably isn't a bad idea to size up. But all depends what you want it for? Layer over a pullover then 100% size up. but if it is just to be thrown over a tshirt you can go either way. Like in the video i've just got a tshirt on. I think it looks good, but certainly would still look and fit great if i sized down.
Hey Andrew. I guess it depends what you are looking for in terms of breaking in. It's always going to have that outer shell type feel. Mine has lost that waxy feel. The more that happens the more it will soften.
Hey do you think that the jacket will look good with dirt marks and etc, i got a black dirt mark in my left elbow its not too much but i wonder if i should clean it?
Hi Samuel, personally i like when these jackets get a bit of character to them. You could clean it if you like or just leave it. I'm sure you'll get more over the years.
Does it stretch a bit since you got it? What is your chest size? Thanks , just trying to figure what size to order, my chest is 38/39 and i wanted it just to wear it with a shirt.

Super cool jacket but too small and narrow made. I'm 6ft 200lbs and xl is just too tight. Sucks really such a cool jacket. And yes the xxl is too big. So I am screwed.
I ordered the largest size as in 6 foot 4 and it too small. Cool jacket, but 6 foot tall height would be the max height for their largest size unless you are skinny.

Hey man, what white t shirt are you wearing with that RGT?
hi i know you mentioned about sizing but what is your weight and height when you shot this vid?
Do you think this is more stylish than the Huckberry wax flannel lined jacket in field tan?

I’m 6ft and 40 chest, and leaning towards the medium but Im worried about the sleeve length. Did you try the medium, and, were the sleeves short?
Dude I just got mine and that little trick that you do where you fold the top of the button lining before it hits your collar to open it up around your chest... Genius. Levels the jacket up. I'm stealing that from you.
Question - how do you clean it it starts to smell? Because you can't wash it with hot water or with soap.

Jacket looks great! Everything looks good on Bond too. In the last few films he’s worn Tom Ford for his suits but the more rugged look is great.
I really love the costume designers for bond. They always have such good stuff in every film!
