This is dope bro. Been listening to entire track as I play online chess. I have a bunch of gear and am overwhelmed on how to even get started making electronic music. I have both Ableton and external hardware but am paralyzed with confusion to even get started as it's way too confusing to me on how to use both CV and Midi etc. So for now just going to listen. hey thanks a lot always nice to read, and yeah maybe try to limit your options a bit? it seems like you maybe already have a bit too much gear? i would maybe recommand thinking about what you wanna do, do you wanna make music without computer or with and then try to only focus on small things so that its not so overwhelming. I guess most people quickly get too ,much hardware or plugins and then don't really know how to use any of them. i had the same that i had too much and was overwhelmed by it. so yeah try to focus on specific things and ofcourse have fun :p

Your sound, generally, is so good. But I Must say the sound you extract from the cwejmans particularly is a testament to their instrument. Keep it up, hoping to catch you live at one point
its so true, i know they are not cheap, and you don't need them at all to do good music. but they really make the job so much easier :)

Hey sorry didn't had time to reply. I didn't plan to do a full tutorial yet. maybe if i notice that there's some interest i might do the effort. I have 3 synth voices in there which are patched kinda basic i think i mostly get these sounds by using fm, pm, fm from envelop, slew,... if you tell me some specific points in the set i might be able to give some better insights

Are you live sampling the modular? Whats the master clock? Ot or euro?
nope no live sampling, and octatrack is master clock i use the shuttle control to send the clock to the modular. but only for voltageblocks. everything i sequenced by octatrack thru shuttlecontrol :)

looks like you use the ot to sequence the NE LI and no pitch cv and quadra is it's envelop. also honda goes into MMF filter and also no pitch cv. and a looping envelop from quadra to modulater filter. that's what i thought after seeing the video before 14:00
so yeah octatrack is master sequencer together with the shuttle control. piston honda goes into mmf. with amp and filter envelop from quadra, i use one channel of the riders of the storm channel to send lfo, voltageblock and keytracking to mmf (i use the other cv input for the env)
Then i have loquelic going into the doepfer sem filter with the same setup like mmf in terms of modulation and amp. (env to cv input 1) (other channel of riders on the storm mixer to cv input 2)
Then for the BLD voice, i use the 6x mix as 3 independent mixers. One channel to send fm from dixie, one channel to send pm from dixie, and the last channel i use to mix the dry output and the wavefolded output of bld (so bld goes out dry and thru the fld6) i also do a trick with the AR out of bld to also send it to the fm input.
i think fracture and crucible are pretty obvious :)
All the other stuff is there to make everything work. i also use the klavis calltrans which makes it that all my voices track precisely over 5 octaves :)
then mostly everything goes to the mackie mixer and i sidechain everything to the kick.
Octatrack is used as master sequencer, i use 5 channels as drumchannels and 1 for the rumble. i also use the octatrack as a delay on send return from the mixer.
