i feel like everyone's ignoring how badly he treated her. i hope he gets his happy ending too, but it's definitely not with her. she found her peace with someone who cared for her, and he should get that too. if you watch the actual movie you'll see howbit actually developed. yes she "betrayed" him, but in actuality she was treated so badly that the betrayal was deserved. it's very subjective with which character you choose to side with, which is what i think is really great about it.

this story is called Initiation Love by Kurumi Inui, its a japanese novel, came out in 2004
then they made remake in japanese of the same name initiation love in 2015

The moral of the story: either break up or move in together, because long distance relationships makes a messy situation of half commitment that either other option helps you avoid. If the situation is temporary it’s more likely you’ll get back together if your feelings remain the same with way less resentment. Or you’ll be far removed enough to move on cleanly without drawing unknowing players into the mess.

At first I thought it was a typical fat-person-turning-to-a-good-looking-person kind of plot but then it lost all the connection to that going through and then the twist made it so worth it. It turned out way better that I expected.
I have never seen a twist as beautiful as this...makes me wonder if this really is how our lives work and that we just can't see it for ourselves...think about it 🙂

It’s the fact that I relate to the part where she says she is also overworked and tired from working but still makes an effort to see him because she just wants to spend time with him… but he doesn’t understand the damage he’s doing/has done…
He was tired too btw, he tried to see her when it's possible, but he couldn't stand it, when they finally got to a date they spend the time complaining, he was moving place to place everytime when he decide to go back home, he didn't even betrayed her at first, only after she accused him of betraying.

I can relate to this movie. I watched it last year when I had my heart broken. My boyfriend was a seaman, and he needed to work abroad while I am here in the Philippines. When covid hit, we didn't see each other for two years. I was always worried about him because I sensed his changed of attitude. He was always busy and stressed in his work which I understood. For two years, we had no deep conversations because he always told me he had no time due to the nature of his work. I felt there was something he hid. With God's help, I caught him cheating. He was messaging multiple women, and what hurt me the most was he fell in love with his workmate in the ship. He apologized and told me that I was the only one he wanted to be with, so I forgave him. But he didn't change. He still talked to other women via chat, and he still reached out the woman he fell in love with. And the rest was history.
2021 was a tough year for me. I am thankful to God because He has helped me. He healed me from the trauma and pain that relationship caused. Forever grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ because He has given me wisdom to mourn. I'm still currently on the stage of mourning, but I no longer love the man. I already have forgiven the him. I am already peaceful and joyful. I hope he finds happiness that he never found when he was with me.

I loved how there was no transformation of chubby Jang-Hyuk. Thank you for keeping the male leads separate. Also the other ML never really understood how his gf was feeling the whole time. He went to her whenever he felt lonely or as a formality. When he got left alone, he ran back to Da-Eun shamelessly. And then went back to Bo-yeong again. No work and personal life balance.
If it weren't for the awesome ending twist, i would have disliked the movie so much.

This senior girl who was friends with my sister said she genuinely liked me. I pushed her away because I thought she was messing with me. I regret what I did. I sometimes think about her. y'know... it's literally no ones fault. i actually sympathize with skinny jang-hyuk, i mean if anyone was in his place, i'm sure people would be stress and cranky too. but it doesn't excuse his treatment towards da-eun. all the comments saying skinny jang-hyuk is a dick (yes, and it is because of stress from work, which everyone can relate to) people don't realize that this movies is about how crucial communication is to a relationship, their relationship fell due to lack of communication, it's a bitter sweet ending

Wooooooooooow. That's a perfect twist. I usually see stuff coming a mile away in movies, especially romcoms or rom dramas, but this had my gobsmacked. Love that! And it all could've been prevented if she text the skinny guy back saying "okay, I'll use the tickets for myself and a friend." Still a great twist though.

Honestly, i loved this movie. I watched it before i saw this, it was amazing and my favorite. Apparently the synopsis other people said was that she got an abortion however i'm glad that it wasn't just me who didn't get that impression at all when watching the movie. When i watched it i got super angry with the guy thinking he just lost everything once he got skinny so it was a full on shock when they bumped into each other.

This was bittersweet. She doesn’t look happy when she’s sitting with the chubby guy in the end and he is obviously not happy either. But ultimately it’s all his fault he chose to cheat. And she-is willing to be with the chubby guy because he will treat her right but it’s clear she does not love him.
I mean the skinny dude did insult her and caused a scene at the airport. I thinks at this point she needs a friend more then be in a relationship again. But true bittersweet
I do think she likes Chubby Guy, she was upset at the end because she also still loved Skinny guy but she knows he hurt her
