The algebra teacher understanding science and knowing how to explain complex concepts is what broke realism for me.
It’s realistic just very rare. My algebra teacher has a degree in the sciences, so she understand science and explains complex concepts if we need help with them.
You use math in science so it reasonable
@@hasiguna3881 m
I haven't seen the movie, just this recap. However, mathematics is used to explore and explain physics. I'm not a math teacher nor a physicist but I have a general understanding of both. It's entirely reasonable that a highschool math teacher would know math beyond what they're teaching.
To me, the strangest thing is that the day loops at midnight... as if that were fundamental to the universe. A time loop of 24 hours seems far too specific. The concept of a day is a human construct. We needed a way to understand and decribe our experience of time and created minutes and hours to do so. Our clocks are based on the rotation of the Earth and would be essentially useless on any other planet in our solar system.
As to how time would loop? It would have to curve back onto itself. Massive objects, like black holes, effect the flow of time. But that would effect everyone... not just two people. It would also destroy the planet...
The universe may be locked in a time loop, but that would only loop once every lifetime of the universe.
By our current understanding of physics and the universe, there is no way a time loop as shown in this movie could exist. The mechanism is beyond our understanding and would best be described as "magic" as it breaks the fundamental laws of the universe. Unless some higher dimensional being is pulling their consciousness at the end of the day and placing them backwards in time.
Mention of the fourth dimension in the film. Although there is currently argument against, time had been accepted as being the fourth dimension. We can move through 3 dimensions willingly but we cannot control our movement through time.
From a mathematical perspective, the fourth dimension is different. If you take a sphere (3d) and cast light to produce a shadow, the shadow appears as a circle (2d). If you take a hypersphere (4d sphere) and cast light to produce a shadow, the shadow appears as a sphere (3d).
Furthermore, if you took a sphere (3d) and sliced it into infinitely thin layers, you'd have two dots and circles of various sizes. If you did the same with a hypersphere, you'd have two dots and spheres of various sizes.
As of now, the human mind cannot comprehend 4d shapes and we cannot produce 4d shapes. But we can see their shadows which appear in 3d.
Needless to say, there is no logical explanation for two people being stuck in a timeloop. There's no reason the time should loop every 24 hours exactly at midnight. Science nor math could explain what is happening.
@@kyleaegis5613 you're thinking too hard about it. Chick said she made a wish and something heard her and granted it, most likely a 4th dimensional being. That being would know human time perception. And possibly create a singularity.

A time loop like this would be fantastic especially if you had a sizable amount of money in the bank you could try out and learn all kinds of amazing things and if there was one person in it that you didn’t hate that you can spend it with that would be pretty cool
@qtsssim But that would take a lot of time (haha)
@qtsssim You underestimate how many things there are to do
Being in a loop means you can make as much money in the day as you'll need. You can even steal it if it comes down to that. Money is hardly the limiting factor. Assuming you don't care about the consequences if the loop breaks.
Yea I was about to say waisting a time loop trying to impresses broads... I mean I guess after it gets boring as hell
@qtsssim I don't know, my guy, I already lived 24 days and I still have things to do... How is it different if people act differently when I do too?
“Margaret has put her chess app on maximum difficulty, but she hasn’t managed to beat it yet”😂😂😂
Computers are way better at chess than even the absolute best human chess players.
Plus an infinite time loop that loops every 24 hours doesn’t do anything since you can just restart the chess game without the loop anyway 😂
computer chess is impossible to beat cause it calulates every move you can do and u do etc etc its impossible

Imagine being stuck in such a time loop and never being able to find out the ending of that one series you wanted to know the ending of.
I wish I never found out the ending to game of thrones 😂
Like our ending of death
More than the time loop events, I like the philosophic thinking on what spending your life time until death really means. And I like the answer given, going ahead, keeping the good thing of the ones we lose.
My favourite time loop movie are probably "Palm Springs" from 2020 starring Andy Samberg and J.K Simmons.
Such a great comedy, but still tragic....!
That was a good one. I liked Boss Level too.
That was not tragic.... That ended happily
Season 1 of Russian dolls was good
My favourite is Happy death day where she have to figure out her killer before being killed every night.
Also some similar genre movies: Time-Lapse where they find a machine which can take pictures 24hrs ahead in time.
And Project Almanac based on butterfly effect.
starring Andy Samberg and J.K Simmons?
that movie must've predicted that chip n dale or something... coincidence i think not!
The looping, main character doing wacky stuff and remembering everything to a tee, and finding a girl that is stuck in a loop too... Palm Springs vibe strong on this one
That is basically how we are supposed to be in reality, it's a reminder that we have to be kind and thoughtful and life gets better as you help people.
Wow what a wholesome movie, this is the first time I’m sad I saw it in this format I would have loved to have seen this movie in regular length.
I always felt like I lived in a time loop because everyday just feels the same, doing the same thing again and again without anything ever changing at all, except of course the interactions I do to others.

Technically it’s a 3D *projection* of what a 4D cube would look like. Sort of like drawing a 3D cube on a piece of (2D) paper. More accurately you would build that 3D projection with a 3D printer or from scratch.
Edit: I will point out for the pedantic who find it difficult to read past the second sentence that the first sentence should read “2D projection of what a 4D”. Also I watched the movie afterward and it’s pretty good. They do a correct job explaining what is going on. The writer of the short story and script is a _Time_ magazine technology writer. He gets many science and math observations correct. Although for me it was a bit perplexing in that do they really teach topology or projection geometry in AP nowadays? I mean I never took it back in the day, but I also never took those subjects in my undergrad. Also has some classics (ancient Greek) mythology references.
well its actually a 2D projection of what a 4d cube would look like since it was drawn on the wall

@@bartholemewiscandarusferle7960 I understand the joke, but you’re not dumb. We as 3D objects living in a 3D world can’t really “see” 4D. They go into it a bit in the movie. Which is true but then she uses time as her fourth variable to construct her hypercube.
