It's not that weird feeling. I go out to eat by myself all the time. It's pretty enjoyable and there's no rush/ waiting for other people. I find it more relaxing because I don't really talk while I'm eating anyways. 10/10 would recommend. My friends do think I'm weird for it, but that's because they never do it, and they're more extroverted than I am. Try it, you'll probably enjoy it more than you think.😄👍
I absolutely love going out to eat alone. It can be an enjoyable and even relaxing experience. The first few times I felt weird too but have now been doing it for many years and really love it.

When I went to Japan I learned that the culture there favors CONVENIENCE over almost everything else. For Americans who say we value our time and have “convenience stores” not many things seem convenient and well thought out about experiencing anything. Especially restaurants. We have so much to learn here

This looks similar to something they had in the USA in about the 50's. They weren't everywhere, but you can see them now in movies. It was in one of the Doris Day movies.
I like Ichiran Ramen. I went to the NYC location for the first time during my birthday this year and it was a wonderful experience. They use the ordering sheet system in NYC and you pay at the very end but it’s just as efficient and accommodating. I don’t know if the wall option is there but I’ll keep that in mind the next time I go! It’s worth it! 😁

Went to a ramen shop in Tokyo this May, I loved it, from the ordering system to the plastic box on the floor to put your stuff in. Just brilliant, and the food was おいしい
Tahts honestly so cool, u don't have to be watched by people while eating, u don't have to awkwardly wait for people to serve u, it just comes right to u and the servers have more comfort as well
I’ve bought the ichiran instant packs and made them at home here in Australia and they’re fantastic.. the best I’ve ever tried. Will have to check out the restaurant when I visit Japan.

I visited one of the Ichiran restaurants in Taiwan (this is a chain that has restaurants outside of Japan as well). The ramen were sooo deliciousn
