Just like a Lannister always pays his debts, a MatPat always delivers his theories - and this one is a must see. the theory is still not true... because it's not a theory, it is a hypothesis based on science (almost), a theory is a descriptive, exploratory or explanatory Framework which provides insights into links between "facts"

Well I wouldn’t say she went mad... it was more like experiencing grief. She lost her best friend, she lost 2 kingdoms, she lost her husband, she lost her unborn child, and she lost two of her dragons. She was contemplating all of this information thinking that she wasn’t going to lose again.

I saw a theory which stated that Bran may have driven Dany mad at the last moment causing her to destroy Kings Landing and that he is gonna be the big bad. I thought that that would be kinda cool.

Think about this:
*She ends slavery but she doesn't put an end to humans fighting amonst each other*
This is something, that if Jon knew about, he would never bow to her again.
*She preaches about being a breaker of chains, and yet she burns people if they don't follow her, making a metaphorical set of chains right there*
*She talks about being a hero, yet she burns, kills or tortures anyone who crosses her once. Keep an eye out, she has never done anything where, directly or indirectly, she did not benefit.*
She fought her way into power over the space of six seasons through fear and inspiration and her promise to do the right thing, without actually looking at the reality and seeing what she's doing. Jon managed to get into power within the space of one season without even trying. But does that mean Dany is more deserving of the Throne? Not necessarily. See, Dany had all the right resources and the name she needed to have people wanting to get her favour when she was in power. But Jon, presumably, had nothing but his heart and his will to do the right thing and to act, not for power or for gold or for Last names, but out of love. That's why Jon should be king, because he does everything for the greater good (except for those cave moments with a hot ginger, in which case, unlike Ned Stark, the man he admired, he disbands tradition, realising traditional methods, oaths and honour just doesn't work sometimes)

Every time she talks about the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms, she talks about wreaking her revenge, and sounds more like her brother than the Breaker of Chains. A 17 year old, full of adolescent confidence, built into a Messiah figure who has a divine right to a throne and a 'noble goal', combined with absolute authority on account of having three goddamn dragons who obey her commands, is bound to go off the deep end. If people couldn't see that coming, it's because they chose not to. Was it somewhat rushed at the end? Yeah. But it still made perfect sense from a narrative standpoint.

This also explains why Jon has no Targaryen features. Because the genes from Rhaegar were so degraded that Lyanna's genes had to pick up the slack.
Well that and the fact that Stark features (brown hair and eyes) are dominant traits and the silvery-blonde hair as well as purple eyes of a Targaryen would be recessive.

And since Jon wasn't a product of inbreeding the mothers dark hair features are in fact would produce dominant features than features from his father. Also to go with the old saying that boys look like their mothers, and girls like their fathers.
Indeed, the Targaryen phenotype is recessive. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's "degraded". Blond hair is a recessive trait, for example. That's why Lord Arryn found out about "the seed is strong". Black hair is a dominant trait.
Jon is only 1/4 Targaryen
Maybe you should study genetics a little better. Every son gets half of the DNA from each parent. So Jon is 50% Targaryen.

I would suggest that her madness isn't necessarily genetic. Remember, she ate a RAW HORSE HEART, raw meat and blood being one of the major methods of transmission for prion diseases, including multiple forms of degenerative madness that include agitation, paranoia, and aggressive behavior. Sure, it would have a remarkably slow progression, but I would suggest that as an alternate form of her madness.
It's a possibility, but unlikely. Dany doesn't really display any other symptoms of variable Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, the human form of Mad Cow disease. People with the condition suffer from rapid mental deterioration, muscle problems such as a loss of coordination, and slurred speech. Also, the disease is always fatal, most patients slipping into a coma and dying within 13 months. If Dany had vCJD, she very likely would have died from it long before she ever got to Westeros.

I kinda like the idea that Dany's story is actually a unique look into the arc of a villain... A play on the concept that "everyone is the hero of their own story".
She is strong, likable, easy to sympathize with... But at the same time is constantly shown in the exact kind of scenarios that you'd typically see the main villain in during normal storytelling.
She has a grudge against a civilization that she feels has wronged her.
She shows no remorse in destroying those who does not comply with her own ideals.
She appears unfathomably charismatic to those who follow her, to the point where many do so blindly.
She recruits mainly from people whose main purpose is to kill and destroy, rather than people who genuinly wishes to help make the world a better place. (Mercenaries who are basically Stormtroopers, marauders, former pirates, and ruthless nobles out for revenge)
She controls legendary monsters that sow terror in the hearts of people at their very mention.
Not to mention, that burning house scene... With the silver hair... Just give her a trenchcoat and a ridiculously long katana already!
I guess the reason many people love her is because she started out so innocent. She was just that cute little almost-woman who got married off to some brute and then stood up against him and became badass. Everyone was cheering for her. So the gradual process of her turning cruel isn't quite as apparent to everyone as it is to you (and some others). But honestly, that's why I love her. That scene where she killed everyone by burning them and then stepped out of the fire, I just wanted to cheer and scream for her. It was mad as fuck, but also really amazing. Every time she does something like this, I feel goosebumps all over because she's just so amazing (and cruel).
I wouldn't say she's that likeable (certainly not anymore) and is often difficult to fully sympathise with.
Y'know, a lot of those points could also apply to Trump.

As a book reader, I wouldn't entirely attribute Aerys' insanity to inbreeding (though it obviously played a part.)
When he was abducted at the "Defiance of Duskendale", he was raped, tortured, and almost killed by Lady Duskendale before being saved by Barristan. After that, he stopped allowing anyone with swords near him (why his hair and fingernails grew so long) and started going bonkers. He wasn't just inbred. He had PTSD and became insane over it.
Adding to that, isn't there something about Viserys being misled all the time and manipulated into being even more of a jerk than he was ?

I think he meant that Viserys, who showed signs of short-temperedness and instability, might not have been so because of his genes but instead been like that due to his unstable upbringing.
Aerys was showing signs of problems before Duskendale, though.

Basically, because Viserys does not understand the dothraki language, some people mistranslate some things as to provoke extreme reactions and create misunderstanding, notably Jorah and one of the slave girl of Dany. The scene where he storms in Dany's tent furious that he has been "summoned" by her, and the scene where he interrupts Dany's "heart eating" ceremony" are supposed ot be results of that ... Or maybe I took a theory too seriously ? ^^

Pat said that the reason Daenerys son died was because she isn't capable of producing healthy offspring. If that's the case then her brother Rhaegar shouldn't be able to have any offspring, when he had two children with Elia Martell. Also the dothraki and Targaryens don't share any gene pool.

For example say the season was...12 episodes. (I tried not to spoil anything)

It definitely was rushed when it comes to pacing, so that's what I'm upset about. What I find laughable is the fact that so many people missed all of the clues that pointed to this outcome. I just wish there was more time to spend on a little more development for the character motivations, but as far as what happened in the episode, everything played out the way it always was going to. When it comes to Jamie and Cersei, the Valonqar prophecy wasn't included in Maggie The Frog's talk with Cersei, so it didn't bother me as much as it bothered others.

Like he said, he didn't know her, no one in Westeros knew her. You would think she would at least try to bring people to her cause without threatening them with death if they don't comply. We knew it was going to happen, it's just it's meant to be a gradual slow burn. Initial she only did things like that to oppressive people and she went from fighting for the oppressed to being an oppressor in the course of a few episodes.
Not that there was nothing in subtle, but in the surface, there was nothing that hinted her going mad. She was pretty adjusted in Essos, then she entered Westeros and suddenly started acting contradictory to her views. And last episode's outburst almost came outta nowhere.

This episode has quite a lot of mistakes. first off when you talk about Darwin and genetics you are way off, Darwin never discussed any genetics only that species changed over time due to their fitness, it's actually Gregor Mendel who is attributed to being the father of genetics.
Also you mention targaryon genes making you immune to fire, this is false, valerians have a higher threshold of heat resistance but can still burn. Dany walking through the fire has been confirmed by GRRM as a one off fantastical event.

In a world full of dragons and magic and gods and zombies and magical tree people and 3 eye Ravens that can fully take sentient control of a living being... The big bad is just some human being with a broken heart. You can take all the mythical sides of this story and Yous be left with a civil war story in a 3rd world country. It's a massive dissapointment for a show that had so much built up potential. You can't even try to defend it. I was cheering and screaming when Arya stabbed the night king like that is an ending I would have loved to finish on. Would be better if it had more stakes like they failed at Winterfell and survivors fled to kingslanding plead Cersei to help fight. Cersei doesn't agree attempts to execute daenyrs and her followers until the dead rock up at her door and she realises the mayhem that is about to unleash. Then the night king laying siege to kingslanding burning everything in his path before having a final fight or flightbattle with Danny and Jon on dragons. Jon or Danny die as well as said dragon and bran could be a warging Ravens and blind the night king whilst the surviving Dragon rider finishes the night king. All the while Cersei attempts to flee the fight, Jaime Persues as well as Arya who is awaiting vengeance and Breanne could follow Jaime. Arya stabs Cersei cersei falls takes the knife and goes to stab Breanne as a killing blow but Jaime stands in front to prevent Cersei, she lays the knife into Jaime accidentally Jaime falls to the ground and then Cersei mourns as Jaime dies, the red keep crumbles, Arya forces Breanne out of the red keep. Red keep still crushes Cersei but Jaime completes his redemption arc. Arya gets the killing stab she and the audience always wanted. Surviving Dragon rider collides with the night king the two dragons claw at each other. Night king and dragon rider face off on the dragon backs, as Drogon rips the dead dragons mouth open and breath fire down the neck, the two riders fall of the back and crash into the water where the night king perishes and the dragon rider is victorious. And probably dead too. The two last heirs to the throne are dead and then you can have the same council to decide a new ruler over Westeros and so on. now that would have been an awesome finale.
Edit: you could have the hound fight the mountain once the dead all drop and the only surviving "zombie" is the mountain. They fight in a Burnt down king's landing surrounded by blue flames and dead bodies. The hound is mortally wounded, but grabs the execution axe that would have been used to execute him at the start and beheads the mountain, collapsing into blue flames. Hound lays on the ground and smiles to the sky, before passing away.

Gorm Nissen the key difference is that Daenerys didn’t have to kill or maim people when she did. Sam points out to Jon that a good leader knows when to spare their enemies or even work with them which is something Daenerys has never done. Everyone gets the death penalty. The fact that she is in a position of power completely changes the context of executing people as well.
So Arya killing the Freys for revenge, Sansa killing Ramsey etc is very different from having people at your mercy, who have surrendered, and killing them without a trial or anything which Dany has been doing for about four seasons now.

Princess Paige but I think that was better for the character, previously she was fine, I think it was all of the horrible things happening to her at once that made her snap. I also think it made the viewers go through it with her, everything rushing at once driving them mad. There was foreshadowing showing the possibility but she was good enough that it didn’t happen until tons of stress was out on her all at once
