    I can’t see how you routed it. I borrowed one and the belt came off. If you show routing, can someone tell me the time stamp?

    ALWAYS CHECK YOUR REAR TRANSMISSION FAN! If the fan gets plugged with grass it stops sending cooling air over the transmission " cooling fins" and burns up the oil by overheating the trans unit.

    A very few of the Craftsman and husqavana have the same issue where the steering shaft goes through the center of the belt but there diagram shows it going around the steering shaft and this video is the only one that has shown that drive belt design so please add the husqavana and craftsman name so people can find it also what size belt did you use thanks

    When I drop my deck I take off the linkage at the top, if you do the bottom be careful that it does not hit anything when lowering the mower.
    NOTE: I tilted my LA135 and leaked some oil from the valve cover.
    Great video and very helpful. I was changing my steering gear and plate and decided to do the belt as well.

    I have this same model. I used it for a job & brought it back home, after clean up it starts but won't go. It seems the drive belt will not engage. Where can I start troubleshooting?

      The forward and reverse pedal. Make sure everything is working there and all the linkages are intact. It’s possible something came undone or rusted off maybe.

    How can you tell if it's a belt or the trans? I have a L110 and after about 30-40 min of mowing it doesn't want to climb small hills or reverse very well, very slow...?

      How many hours are on it and have you owned it since new?

      It’s a pain in the ass but I’d try changing the oil on the trans. That is if the belt seems to be ok condition. There’s videos here on yt how to do it. Just search John Deere tuff torque oil change.

    Hank, I have a LA145, I had the traction belt jump off the rear pulley and got wedged between the pulley and fan, belt smoked,
    I replaced the belt with and aftermarket belt, worked fine for about one hr then started slipping or the tractor would no longer pull,
    I purchased a John Deere belt but have not tried to install it,
    I am concerned my rear hydrostatic transmission is ruined as I can see no reason for the new belt not to provide adequate force to the rear pulley,
    Question: how can I check the proper operation of the hydrostatic transmission before I tear it down again and replace the belt,
    Thanks, Fred

      Check the rear pulley for any damage or wear. There really isn’t a way to check those trans if they work or not without running them as normal.

    how do you adjust the tension on the drive belt?

      @DMJ160 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jamie, I do not think there is a adjustment on the drive belt on these models

    That's some nice weather y'all are getting over there for December! here in the southeast, it got down to 36 and there's rain & sleet as well as black ice in Atlanta, some of the interstates are frozen & I'm sure that there's going to be some wrecks on the roads into this holiday season.

    Hank, I have an L-130. Bought it used a couple of weeks ago. It runs and cuts fine for about 20 minutes then doesn't want to go up any hills. Do you think it's the belt, the transmission or both?

    • @JBowersop24
      @JBowersop24 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's mainly the transmission. As it heats up the pumps don't hold pressure with the worn out oil inside. Mine was doing the same thing after 15 years of using it. I rebuilt the transmission this past spring and it runs like new again.
