12:15 lol churd. It’s pronounced with a hard C not CH. in case anybody doesn’t know what a cheese curd is, it’s literally a small ball of freshly made cheese. Usually mozzarella or cheddar, then it is battered and fried. Depending on where you are you can get it double fried and you will immediately get diabetes. But you will die happy

Some specialties of Missouri (from an actual Missourian):
*Toasted Ravioli (as mentioned in the video)- These things are great....originally created by accident, they are a must-have when coming to Missouri, and it's very rare to find them outside of Missouri so it is certainly unique to Missouri.
*Gooey butter cake- I'm not exactly sure how common it is outside of Missouri, but it is made most commonly in St. Louis and it is a dense cake traditionally dusted with powdered sugat. It can come in several flavors and I recommend trying it if you do visit Missouri, although if you'd prefer it can be made relatively easily at home.
*Thin crust pizza (aka St. Louis style pizza)- Basically the opposite of deep-dish pizza, it is exactly as it sounds. The pizza crust is very thin and it's basically just a crust without the doughy insides. It depends how you like your pizza, but it's really a hit or miss
*Provel cheese- A mix of cheddar, swiss, and provolone cheese. It's an interesting blend regarded for it's buttery texture. Can be used to make a true St Louis style pizza or on sandwiches (or however else you wish to each cheese).
*Barbecue- Missouri has 2 major cities (St Louis and Kansas City) both with unique styles of barbecue. St. Louis style is typically spare ribs grilled rather than smoked, sometimes paired with a more sweet & smoky sauce. Kansas City is famous for burnt ends and slowly smoking the meats, typically covering them with a tomato & molasses based sauce. Not to mention a popular meat in Missouri is pork steaks, cut from pork shoulder and simmered/cooked low and slow.
*Ice cream- While ice cream is by no means a specialty only for Missouri, the waffle cone itself was invented at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis after a waffle vendor partnered with a ice cream vendor that ran out of serving bowls. Not to mention there are several great places to grab ice cream, including Ted Drewes, a popular ice cream shop known for it's frozen custard/concretes, with 2 locations located on and near historic Route 66 as it passes through St. Louis.
*Slinger (aka St Louis slinger)- A slightly unusual dish that is commonly a hangover remedy, this dish is made with eggs, chili, hamburger/steak/other meats on top of hash browns.
Missouri, like a lot of other states, has a thriving food scene and continues to grow. A lot of these are really good and i recommend trying some at one point or another.

St. Louis, Missouri has a big Italian neighborhood called "The Hill" where many Italian immigrants settled when they first came to the area and there are many Italians restaurants in that neighborhood, so that's where toasted raviolis were developed (story goes the guy who discovered them was cooking regular ravioli and actually dropped some in a deep fryer and BOOM toasted ravs were born)
