  • Aside from a proper technique, another key component to holing putts is reading the greens. In this lesson, I'm focusing on how to read the greens effectively, using techniques to gather as much information as possible.

    My game can always be better and listening and learning in depth the little things are priceless. Lakes, ponds, drainage areas were taught to me and I have used that knowledge for 25+ years. The color contrast I’ve heard of but never understood it as clearly as I do now. I’m anxious to put it into my practices starting tomorrow. Thanks P!!!

It’s especially admirable, given your tremendous success in the game. You don’t need to make these videos. You Sir are the best. putts with subtle breaks are the hardest to me. Big swingers are obvious and require attention but sometimes the ones that you'd bet are straight will break a cup one way or the other and you just cant see it....I guess experience at that particular course or hole solves some of that but its the most frustrating part of golf to me. Bust your butt to become a ball striking ACE and cant putt, lol.

    WOW! These are invaluable, especially for a new player like myself. The time and attention to detail Padraig gives us all is phenomenal. Personally, I’d love to see something on different shots 150 and in that are above and below your feet and on a tight lie or deep in the rough and how you’d play them and what club choices to consider. I’m in Texas and I play in a lot of wind which can wreak havoc on those approach shots sometimes. Loved this tip and I’m saving it and will definitely implement this into my practice routine when I’m doing my putting practice. Thank you 🙏

    Just watch how you elaborate green reading is valuable and inspiring already! This’s very useful for amateur golfers with four or more members in a gang with balls in locations around the green and frustrated following gang waiting for their turn, i.e. there’s not much time allowed for delicate green reading like tour pros. Thanks a lot PH. By the way, you just use your feel and not on other techniques like plumb bob, do you?

    • @gunghogolf
      @gunghogolf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The general (average) slope of the green will follow the land surrounding it - with a body of water typically being at the lowest point around it. Of course there can be smaller sections of the green which are contoured the opposite way - golf course designers like to be tricky - but in general, if a green holds water puddles, that would be a very bad design.
