    The thought of flying with a soft bow case blows my mind! SKB hard case every time for flying.

    I looked at this one ALOT, but I just couldn’t justify the $500 cost. I ended up getting the Legend Everest 44 Trolley bow case and I love it.

      Legend Everest bow case $350;and it’s better than that Easton bowtruck for real but same concept. I’ve owned the bowtruck like a dumbass then sold it for the everest case

    Rocking the Legend Everest 44 - basically the same case for half the price.
    Had two bows and all my gear with me flying from The States and back to Denmark.

    This is gonna be a book since you can't answer with a video lol…
    Flown with my SKB well over 20 times I guess now. Small number comparatively to some but it's been well tested and never failed. Overseas, multiple plane changes etc. and it's never weighed more than #49 loaded. All hunting clothes rolled up etc. . granted no boots in there I wear them. Tennies in backpack carry on with anything else minor including optics, sight and camera gear, iPad. Honestly anyone that has flown enough, you know what you "do not" need on a trip. And if you need that amount of extra stuff you're buying another bag regardless of what the skb weighs. Already have that easton case, shop owner buddy of mine handed me his to take it to Hawaii and test it out he's guaranteeing my bow and being 100% honest I'm nervous. A caveat you didn't mention… The insurance. SKB may not replace everything to the hilt but it's better than zero from a soft side. I like the Easton especially the size. My Badlands case gives way more confidence. Yeah nobody likes Badlands whatever… it is taller weighs +-3 pounds more same material but thicker. You can fit two weeks of clothing in there if you really have to. Including boots. Four airplane rides on it now after getting mentally through the first one I have total confidence in it. Although nothing will replace the confidence of an SKB. Just my experience.

    That's a pretty impressive case. I flew home from Kansas last year with my buddy's son. My buddy took all my gear back with him after the trip so I was off the hook for carrying a lot of gear on the flight. Not so for my buddy's son. He had a backpack, two large duffels and a hard case for his bow. I can see with the Easton Bow Truck, he could have had one less duffel and still less weight total.

    The bowtruk cases are amazing. I have been easing an older easton model for the last 9 years. Usually airlines are good about not charging as long as you stay at the 50lbs. Only time I ever get charged is when you I leave from Vegas after the vegas shoot.

    I used a Pelican 730 hard case to fly from GA to Colorado for my elk hunt this year and it worked great. I cut out the bottom foam for my bow and accessories and then stuffed the top of the case with my clothes and easily came in under 50 pounds. I was able to just check that case and then get the rest of my stuff in my pack and carry it on.

    TIp of the hat to MFJJ for correcting. Easton Bowtruck changed the game, still love my SKB and Pelicans for bow/rifle, but....those airlines are nickle and diming us into innovation. Cheers!!

    Lakewood is fantastic for in and out aswell I use skb for 3rd bow I just sold but I modified my single Lakewood case And it fits 2 bows easily and I can keep arrows in my 2nd bag... what my buddy and I do is one guy has the implements and a luggage other has luggage and a cooler. Southwest is where it's at 2 checked and 1 carry on squeeze alot of gear in 6 bags and then more in the personal bag I can have with me.

    Having flown fairly often over the last 20 years working. The condition of my luggage sometimes after a flight is terrible, especially soft luggage. Sometimes the soft luggage is so squashed that it looks like my mother-in-law sat on it for the entire flight. I would not recommend sending your bow into the black hole of the luggage department of an airline in a soft case. How would you sleep at night ?

    I have never flown with a bow, but, with a case like that, how can something on your bow not get jacked up every time you fly because of the way that bags are often thrown around?

  • @chandlt
    @chandlt 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    What stops the airline from dropping something on the soft side? Or loading it upside down? This makes no sense.
    I agree the SKB is quite heavy - that’s why I sold mine and got a Pelican Air.

Check out this aussie band if you get a chance they rock. Amyl and the Sniffers. Actually they are touring America in April. I saw you wearing an Alice in Chains tee shirt COOL I love their music. Regards from Downunder.

    It may be lighter but it doesn't do what I myself want from a bow case at an airport. Protect my 1500-2000+ $ bow! It's a soft case and I have seen more than once how those loaders treat bow and gun cases. For $500 bucks, I want MUCH more protection than that soft sided "gym bag" can give.

      Hundreds of archers travel all over the world and the country some with more than 50 flights in a year and have no issue with the bow case protecting their bow.

    • @RolandDeason
      @RolandDeason 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Airlines see the hard cases and go “oh I can chuck this even harder” 😅 I haven’t had an issue with a “soft” case, these still have a rigid frame, like the other commenter said thousands of target archers travel to so many events each year and these are the cases of choice.
