hi I am trying to install openbsd 7.5 on a virtual machine, but both in virtualbox or qemu openbsd crashes with blue text (kernel panic or whatever) during sets install, I am on Mint myself rn, is this something configuration specific or my system, or obsd is unstable to virtualize in linux?
I was able to install after switching the cd drive device from IDE to SATA before the installation, I took the configuration from here: watch?v=vUlMGCecg_o
@@JamesSmith-ix5jd That is what I was going to say. SATA replaced IDE support in OpenBSD. I did ask this question on Reddit a long time ago; here is the link. www.reddit.com/r/openbsd/comments/12jzg2y/when_i_tried_to_install_openbsd_73_in_qemu_i/
Hey I want to move away from systemd, with the least headaches possible, I would prefer dinit, but what would you recommend in general, in terms of having the least issues as a daily desktop. Artix, or Void, or something else like alpine
Artix and Void are great distros with amazing init systems, but as you are transitioning away from systemd, the most logical choice would be Artix with dinit, which would be more familiar.
Hi, yesterday patched 6.5 and have problem with only one patch, which is alpha. Was not able to patch with any version of it yet, will try again later today.
@@alphab91 This time it was compiled correctly, but can not start X anymore. Something is missing in X library? EE error (NI) is not implemented, something like this. Was not able to fix it, running on Arch, but no luck. I will stay without alpha patch I guess. Tried on two desktops with AMD gpu and the same result.
Not good. You can look at my config to see I have tried to make it like my dwm config, but Hyprland doesn't come close to dwm. Hyprland does have the animation, but that's it. I did try River, and it's close to dwm, but no animations.
@@jasonjason8639 Xorg isn't dying out; it still works for everyone. Most programs are designed to work on it. Even on Wayland, you still need XWayland. But Wayland compositors, window managers, and desktop environments are making progress.
Great video . I really like your dwm configuration keep up my bro ❤
Thank you.

How you sync your google account with chromium??
I don't have a Google account because I use Chromium, and Chromium does not support it.
@@alphab91 Sry, i saw a picture on the profile place and i thought that you did it

Check the .rej file to see if anything didn't apply correctly. Also, ensure that you have "-lXrender" in the libs section of the config.mk file.
@@alphab91 Thanks, will try later today and let you know.

Checked, hard to tell what the issue is. What is your GPU? Mine is admgpu.
how is your hyperland experience so far? you think it's better than dwm?

@alphab91 how come hyperland doesn't have animation....
@@jasonjason8639 Hyprland does have animations; it's RiverWM that does not.
@alphab91 the only problem with xorg is it's too old and is dying out.
