The fact that the first girl actually WORKED *FOR* Revolve, but her hotel room was not paid for, she was treated like a nobody, and had to sleep in her car. While these “oh so famous influencers” got paid for, had their own cars, etc. While they probably dont really use their stuff.
the festival itself doesn’t have any pools but everyone i know that went to coachella got into the pool at their hotel/airbnb or at the revolve/liquid IV/neon party events
Imagine spending $2,000 a ticket, actually being lucky enough to get in, and then the whole Revolve party is just an influencer fashion shoot with no interaction. Horrifying.
@@Sienadiaries I'm over 30 now so maybe I'm just losing touch with youth culture, but I don't get the impression that any whole generation is like this. It's just a certain type influencer, especially of the LA variety... right?
I’m an Uber driver in Coachella Valley. I drive all those people to the festival. OMG. You get an interesting insight to their lives because most of them see the Uber driver as a robot that drives a car. So you hear all their drama! It’s fascinating. I’ve heard some VERY disturbing conversations. To be fair, some attendees were pretty chill, but they were in minority.
@@BingewatchingmediacontentI think that'd be illegal and definitely not accepted by Uber. It's making their customers look bad and he or she could be fired
@Bingewatchingmediacontent They can't record them, buuuuut, they could make a video telling us what the conversations were. Just leave out names. Haha
How can Revolve pay for the hotel & vip amenities for the influencers but won’t even pay the stay for 1 of their employees?? As a company I think you should show equal respect to an employee of yours and to the influencer since they are both helping your brand so….
They at least owe her for the Uber or something. It’s so sad that she didn’t even get in and they should owe her for acting like she won something when she didn’t get to go and ended up wasting her own money. So messed up
Honestly, that’s so sad! The least they could do as a brand is reimburse her for her expenses and travel. I have never worked for a company or organization that wouldn’t at least pay me for the expenses to attend an even being thrown by said company. I seriously would be evaluating their ethics. Sounds like she’s just a number 🤷🏾♀️
I felt really bad for her (no one else). She is an employee who helps make the brand actual cash and does actual real work, and they totally screwed her over.
Right! I would’ve been up in there playing mermaids 🧜♀️ lmao. No but fr, wtf. Who goes to a pool & dosnt swim? Like it’s a pool party. I don’t care if I’m surrounded by the most famous people in the world, if I’m on a dessert, it’s hot, and there’s a badass pool I’m 100% going in.
When you go to their profiles there are tons of videos and pictures of that fake fun that I never would have questioned. It’s also funny how many of them have tens of thousands of followers and then their photos have less than 500 likes and 10 comments. None of it is real!!
What festival do you go to that isn't about fashion? Have you seen the way people dress to go to festivals or no? For females, it appears to be a competition as to how few clothes they can wear, but still be stylish. They are all about looks and fashion, I'm guessing you don't attend festivals at all.
@@AmysAttitudenot all music fests are like that, actually most are not. I live in TN & we have Bonnaroo & the stuff seen & heard about this mess would never! At “Roo” you wear what won’t hoard piles of dirt & cause excess swear & be protective against the sun lol that’s literally the only goal. Sandals & the oldest tennis shoes you own is what we wear.
These music festivals were created to enjoy the music with friends and family, meet new people, be wild and free for a few days. It’s time to claim back real fun, stop this prefabricated social media illusion. Honestly, it’s taking away the best years of our lives. Time to have real fun again.
The fact that an employee at revolve a freaking designer didn’t even get a better experience/vip or something like that should say something about the brand they obviously don’t care about their own employees
I totally agree! They should have flown out all or several stylists, out them up, and had a panel where people could talk to them, they literally design the brand!
As someone who has been to lots of festivals over the years and actually enjoys them - I have almost no pictures from the ones I enjoyed the most. The more pictures someone is taking, the less actual fun they are having there, guaranteed.
I’ve realized this is why pictures from the film days look so much better than phone snaps now. When you have to manually shoot, or at the very least understand basic lighting with point and shoots, you actually have to care about what you’re shooting and actually capture a memory more than just a moment.
Oh man..if thay ain't the truth. I've never taken a photo at a festival...ever. a show , I've had my phone at recent years and I. Sitting so e a the time so I'll take it out and snap, but back when I went to actual "festivals", no one took photos, and no one would want to. Just have fun. I'd never want to go now at present day. I doubt I'll ever go again. I would never ever go to "Coachella" ... that thing us crazy insane and so full a fakery. Posers.
As a SoCal native, Coachella is 100% not what it used to be. You nailed it. You can still go as a normal person and have an experience away from the influencer stuff, but the vibe has changed, probably permanently.
Agree, kinda sad tbh. Definitely have to go weekend 2 if you’re just a normal non influencer and just like festivals! Weekend 2 feels a lot more chill even though it’s not as picturesque lol
I must admit, it's really fun seeing all those influencers confronting the reality of what music festivals are 😂 Music festivals ARE messy, you wait hours in the sun for everything, it's dirty, I mean festivals ! You don't go there to show yourself, you go there because you like music, if not then gtfo of there. I remember doing festivals where I finished covered in mud and dust for three days, don't wear fancy clothes honestly it's a really bad idea lmao If you go to a festival, be prepared ! Take water bottles, sun screen, sun glasses or a cap, wear comfy clothes and be sure you're gonna be dirty at the end of it. AND ENJOY THE MOMENT AND THE MUSIC ! Stop spending your time on your phone taking pictures and videos, that's not the point of those events
Yes, thank you. It's about spending time with your friends, drink a beer for breakfast (if you like to) and then watch hours of live music. I think I only showered once because the lines were always so long and honestly who cares.
Yep! This is the vibe over here in the UK. Everyone is dressed down, sweaty, covered in mud and vibing. If anyone is “dressed up” they’re in weird halloween costumes or have a lil bit of glitter on their faces lol. Tbh I think British festival goers put more effort into secure booze or drugs than outfits lmaooo🤷🏿♀️😂
I know I'm replying to a 2-year-old comment lol... but I had to.... 27:55 the "stylist's" clothes are sooooo ugly. Even by "quirky" NYC standards. Totally unflattering and incohesive not to mention so far off trend but definitely not a classic look. The stuff on the hangers for her "client" doesn't look much better! ..... just.... ew
Nothing makes me feel as old as being from the era where anyone who bought a ticket could attend a music festival, and you were expected to recognize only the bands.
Meant to add - where you also slapped on an outfit you bought at the thrift store, and success in fashion meant you didn’t look just like everyone else there. My favorite Lollapalooza outfit in the 90’s included a drum majorette’s sequined zip vest that I got for six bucks 😂
Just found your channel- your no bs, common sense take on things is so refreshing! You are great at make up, know whats up but not so much that you are out of touch. Kudos!
Not that I have much sympathy for rich influencers but imo it's definitely ok to complain about not getting into the festival if you bought a ticket. If it's genuinely the organizers of Coachella selling more tickets than they have capacity for at the festival that's absolutely not acceptable.
I completely agree. It sounds like a consumer protection violation, unless it specifies in the t&cs that admission is not guaranteed. Even then a court may still rule against Coachella, depending on how clear it was made.
If a company can get away with taking $2000 for a ticket and selling way over capacity, then there's no hope they will honor the tickets us peasants buy, so yeah it's concerning
As a raver, there is a clear issue with Coachella drawing a market of first-time festival-goers. It should be more clear how festivals work or attendees should do research into how to do a festival and not just research their outfits (which is an important part). PortaPottys, communal showers, long lines, phone thiefs, etc are ALL PART OF FESTIVALS. You work around it or deal with it. I bring a bikini and use gallon water jugs and soap to shower. I plan extensively to have protective bags for my phone that go around my waist. It's a music festival not a luxury resort. Personally, i would never attend Coachella as it is far too big and busy for my taste, but its sad to see people so surprised when these are simply a part of the festival experience. This is all made worse by snotty influencers. In my experience, most of the people i meet at festivals are interesting and down to earth people from a wide variety of economic classes and backgrounds. But these people? are not it. I love the fashionaspect of festivals and have met lots of cool folks who go all out on their outfits, but they dont act like this (well most of them dont lol).
As a female biker who goes to rallies (in raining Ireland) I totally agree. Comfort and safety are everything. Same for my archery competitions... you'll never meet me without suncream, bug spray, bite cream and waterproofs 😂😂 Oohhh and of course a personal supply of loo roll and sanitizer
The craziest thing to me about people who go to Coachella is that they are spending all this time and money, meanwhile I watched the entire festival from my couch for free bc it’s live-streamed! 😂😂😂
Someone I know was doing security at Coachella and they texted me saying “this is hell on earth” lol it’s just a bunch of fake people, doing fake things, posing for fake photos and while pretending to be happy.
It’s just crazy that people think an online presence is everything. It’s funny to see other influencers who have a big ego because they think they’re all that from having “followers” or “photo shoots/models”. I do TH-cam, TikTok, and IG - but for me, at the end of the day it’s just a number, it doesn’t change anything. I wish other people could be more humble and just themselves.
Something I really want to know, what do these clout chasers get from posting these things on their social media? Do they earn anything from doing so? I mean actual money, not likes, shares and followers.
@@fc7307 you can generate a lot of revenue from social media engagement. Basically the more people you have looking at and commenting on your posts the more money companies will want to give you. So as an influencer it’s important to fill your pages with these kinds of events and making them look as good as possible even if it was only a step above fyre fest 😂
Now THIS is a channel I can get behind. If anyone has FOMO, just know that the things you see online are more fake than they appear... go out and make memories. Put the phone down, quit trying to be the next big thing, and live life. This influencer culture disgusts me. I like this chick, I'm subscribing. Way to be down to earth, girl! You've got a good head on your shoulders. Never change!
It’s literally people standing around a hotel pool taking pictures. This is so embarrassing. The entire life and concept of an influencer is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. I may have spent my 20s blackout drunk, but it was definitely more fun than this “festival”
I totally agree with Coachella used to being the boho thing as soon as you said that my jaw dropped, I was literally thinking the same thing as I was scrolling through pics of peoples outfits . I through to myself why doesn’t anyone dress hippie anymore there ? I swear years ago it was all boho outfits
I used to work for REVOLVE and honestly they are so stingy when it comes to paying their employees good wages. They pay millions so that Kylie Jenner / Kendall can post a pic wearing revolve but didn’t want to pay us more than $15 at the time (2018) LOL
That's business because they get a ROI paying Kyle to wear there crap but they don't with an employee. Your a cost. If young people weren't so superficial then it would be different but they aren't so you get this messed up scenario
I love this! I am 51 years old and started watching you years ago when I was try to figure out how to do makeup. I continue to follow you and pretty much only watch your videos because you are straight up honest about your content. Congrats on your beautiful new home and can’t wait to see more.
Honestly I didn't even know Revolve festival was a thing, I didn't even know Revolve was a brand. I do feel bad that so many people were duped, sounds like Fyre festival. But hearing these tiktokers and Instagram people acting like they are more important than they are makes me not care.
Thought on the fashion - before influencers didn't have to hire a stylist. THEY were the "stylists," that's why people look to influencers, but now they lack style and copy what everyone else does
I think you're mostly right. Personally, I think a lot of them might have even had some help from stylists back when despite what they claim, but now the standards and expectations are different. It's gone from trying to show off who you are as an individual to have to keep up with everyone else. Hence it going from striving to be you to striving to fit the standard.
I wanna know why society allows influencers like them to be the ones that are popular. I’m so glad there are still down to earth real people like you girl 💕
Listen, I lived through the Y2K fashion… it was literally all ‘skinny’ culture and destroyed our body images. We are absolutely not going down that road again. I cannot.
Even as a 24 year old today I still remember that skinny culture of the 2000-2010. I would literally cry to my mom because I thought I was overweight at 12! And the horrible thing was I wasn’t but even then the culture is terrible asf.
This whole thing with hiring "stylists" to dress them is literally that movie "Bring it on" with the cheerleaders cheating and hiring a "choreographer" for a routine, and the routine is sh**, plus he gives the same exact routine to their competition. Great, now I'm visualising the "jazz hands" scene but with "influencers" posing in bad outfits at Coachella 2022. Hilarious! thanks Kiki, you did it again!
This is why I love you: you’re completely upfront like how you mentioned Amazon even though it’s not a video about them. I don’t care if you’re working with someone in a video, just be honest!
“Who are YOU?” “This looks like hell on Earth.” “I did not like what I was seeing” nailed it. I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than go to any part of that nonsense
That "pool party" is my idea of a nightmare! Just a bunch of people standing around trying to look like they're having fun, but doing anything but...I feel sad for them, I don't think they know they're missing out on life. But, I am an old ass millennial, so maybe our ideas of fun and socializing are just vastly different.
I enjoy relaxing by a pool, enjoying a good book, cocktail, and sunshine 🌞 BUT posing constantly, taking pictures, making fake connections, 🙄 😒 nope. I'm 34 years young
Right?! Exactly what I was thinking. Makes my stomach turn. The girl on the floaty trying not to get wet in a POOL...... just for a picture. A picture that will portray a scene of her enjoying herself and having a grand ol time when really, it's all a facade.....yuck. Wouldn't it be something if idk.......you actually DID have a good time? Truly? Sad.......
I am a millenial as well. I feel bad for the young generation. In my teenage years I could fuck up at a party and my friends would talk about it, but there were no people taking photos of it or posting about it in real time. People must feel watched all the time, how can you relax on parties like that?
This video was randomy suggested by the YT algorithms. I really appreciate your intelligent analysis of both events and everything that people should know in relation to being a promotor and fashion sense in general. You're extremely well spoken, organized, and to the point. We need more people like you for young women to follow.
It’s beyond stupid it’s laughable to me.. lol idk I’m from suburban Kansas where not many kids even get a chance at all to go to one of these big things..lol we always wish and those who are more successful job wise I guess and the ones in my high school who just had that popularity vibe all around them would maybe sometimes end up going..I’ve always wanted to go to lollapalooza.. it’s also bothers me though cause it’s gotten more expensive and has been getting that everyone knows about that festival kinda dealio.. but the more I see the ridiculous social media culture wrapped right around these festivals fingers, makes me kinda re think going to some as a young 21 year old who is young enough to remember simple technology before social media kjnda just ruined everything..lol, on the other hand I still have interest in going to Bonnaro, which to me has always had more of a music/hippie vibe and not much of a social media guru fest..lol, it’s just all about finding the ones that haven’t been completely infiltrated by social media now I guess..lol
I absolutely hate the term "influencer". These people are in sales... that is it! They promote products that they dont even use, usually to younger people that cant afford it! I cant, I just seriously cant! There are so many channels I follow that I am no longer following because I am sick of the bullshit these people spew to everyone. Plus if I hear the word Coachella again I am going to lose my mind! A real influencer is someone who actually sees all of the shit going on the world with Covid, Ukraine, etc etc. Oh, I forgot, the DESERT IS HOT... OMG.
Same here. The beauty community is DOA because of affiliate marketing. It's not the only reason of course but I believe it has a lot to do with it. Before youtubers had to legally declare their ads, the community was thriving. Influencers, tiktok and rampant liberalism destroyed it.
I feel the same way about the term “content creator”. It just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. It’s such a broad term and I guess it is technically accurate but when any person that posts a TH-cam video or Tik Tok refers to themselves as a content creator it’s like okay, calm down.
They ‘influence’ people to buy things. Literally…that’s why they are called that. Now, whether everyone who calls themselves an influencer is actually an influencer, that’s a different topic.
@@mrasmussen90 THIS!!!! I work for a marketing agency and we have team that create “content” (original/creative/professional) for social media platforms of major companies. It’s not just an dickwad who films a video on their phone.

I swear there’s something about seeing someone else finding certain aspects of privilege and social media so freaking insane but also slightly hilarious that truly lessens the anxiety seeing this type of content usually makes me feel. Like yes, this is ridiculous and dystopian and it feels like everyone around me just accepted all of this like it’s just so natural and organic (I’m referring also to the topics I’ve seen you discuss in your other videos). Same here! I also get claustrophobic and feel like I can’t breathe ( I’m also 5’2 so everyone is taller than me) so these look like the pits of hell! I live close to Austin Tx and stay clear when the SXSW is going on which is huge!
@@Disturbd_76 for reals! Never again after that! I'm an elder millennial and I prefer to go to concerts where I can sit down and they have real toilets if I need to go to the bathroom 😂
Unfortunately these festivals have turned into pretentious popularity shit shows. What happened to going for the music, meeting random people and hanging out, the wafting of green in the air and people just rocking out and having a good time? There's a crusty old lady that lives inside you, and I mean that in the kindest and most loving way! I am probably your mom's age and it's nice to see that not all of our next generation is self-absorbed and consumed with the cash grab, that there are some, like yourself, who actually have values and substance to your character. You're a good girl Kylie, and I'm certain your parents couldn't be more proud of the wonderful young woman you've become. Love you bunches!
@NPC 1337 I do know the origins and will now enlighten you about the facts..When Coachella started in 1999, "grunge was at the end of it's peak popularity and starting it's decline. And by 2009 when I went to Coachella you didnt even need to buy a ticket early (no wristbands back then) They never sold out and in 2009 I could show up the first day and just walk up to the ticket booth or buy a ticket from a street scalper for only $30!!! And the way it was going Coachella would most likely be nearing bankruptcy today and shut down forever just like similar (against popular music) festivals like Warped for example. So in 2010 when Coachella decided to go mainstream and add acts like Jay-z as headliner and putting the cutting edge EDM acts front and center they sold out all weekend in a blink of an eye and simultaneously saved Coachella from shutting down. No offense but if your still going to grunge alt music fests in 2022 "because your a real music enthusiast yea!" then you are completely out of touch with American culture. And yes I am well aware of the rich history of Coachella being created by Eddie Vedder and all of that, but it still doesnt change anything. So yes, there is tons of vapid airheads at Coachella these days, but there are also thousnds of real music lover who are there to appreciate the art and make deep connections with other fans they encounter there. I mean anyone who actually attends Coachella can easily attest to that. What you are doing is that cliche thing and saying that "Coachella has become nothing but a selfie fashion contest and there are no real music lovers left there anymore" And that is something that is usually said by people who dont actually go to Coachella.
@@roberth2285 Totally not cliche it is exactly what has happened. @@JJB1176 Not even close. There are soooo many MLM's that she never mentioned once. Plus she used to do frequent MLM fails, which can be any companies, even if she discussed them before. I have absolutely 0 proof and it's all circumstantial speculation but I wonder if she's being sued by an MLM hun or a company. The content just stopped out of absolutely nowhere. The videos before it stopped mentioned that she wants to do more of them. It would explain why she hasn't posted more anti-MLM videos and why she hasn't mentioned the channel pivot. Other creators have gotten cease and desists and threats to be sued. Obviously, I hope this is not the case (it's totally possible she just got burnt out or felt that the anti-MLM commentary space became overcrowded) but that's my conspiracy theory on the matter.

it is so weird to see clips of that… i would be swimming in the pool lol. i can’t see how constantly taking pictures/ videos of yourself at different angles is enjoyable
That one girl who had mentioned with no shame that she had to "call her nanny", which I believed she was going to end that sentence with something along the lines of needing her nanny to stay later than expected since they would be running late. Instead you learn that the nanny was for HER OWN GROWN ASS self. These tik tok wannabe VIP'ers and social media influencers represent exactly how the world operates, the rich who act as if their money wasn't what actually influenced them being an influencer.
The fact people are willing to go on a bus to a mystery location with no way out of this situation after what happened at astroworld … people stay away from these shit shows. They are not as fun as social media wants you to believe. Large music festivals are any thing but glamorous
Ironically, the unentitled people that chose to get to the actual coachella festival super early and chose to camp there are having a great time, it's the entitled influencers (who don't even seem to like festivals) who are having a terrible time. But I'm in Australia and none of this really bothers me lol. Like I would have gone expecting porta-potties and lack of showers and been content with that.
And sorry but if you flew across the country just to see Harry Styles… don’t show up just before he’s due to go on stage 😂 the people who actually wanted to see Harry Styles were up early and camped all day for their spots. I’m in the UK and the idea of having a shower at a festival is crazy to me, part of it is coming home covered in 3 days worth of mud and glitter 😂 and the people who are having their things nicked… have they ever been in a crowd before? And when the girl showed that super clean bank of portaloos with zero people queuing and she was moaning I just 🤯 I feel like so many ppl go expecting something completely different bc of what they see on social media.
Totally agree!! Been going to Coachella for 5 years now and have always had a blast! Thankfully have not gotten anything stolen (always keep my campsite pretty sparse & always have my Fanny pack around my body so it is near my chest), have waited in long lines for showers but I honestly never mind, have waited in the hot sun but it all comes with the experience! I’ve never once complained and I always leave Coachella super happy
I totally agree! I went and had one of the funnest weekends of my life. I car camped and lost my voice from signing at the concerts too much lol. SO much fun!
True, No one is living their lives anymore. Everyone seems to be capturing the moment to prove they were there, as apposed to experiencing the event. It's so weird & sad. I graduated high school in '98 (hi, old). We didn't have cell phones in school. Most of the time, we would get disposable cameras & actually have them developed. You didn't know if it was a good shot until you got your photos back so you snapped a couple & didn't waste time trying to get the perfect pic, so you could enjoy yourself. No hate, we all do it, It's just a strange world we live in now.
Class of '99 - I feel you! There's no way I'd spend $3k+ to go to some festival, first of all, but then to walk around like an NPC once there...I can't even!
I feel sort of bad for saying this this but I'm glad I'm older and that we didn't really have social media like now. We'd have missed out on a lot of fun trying to curate "fun". Mommy groups are bad enough with this perfect picture stuff, festivals must be hell!
True. I went to a festival in 2012 I think, and there is only one picture of it, the rest is purely memories and living in the moment. No one even had a phone on them. I'm glad I grew up without the whole influencer stuff.
I am sooooo glad I'm not a teen/early 20 something in this era. It's laughable. But also incredibly sad. Bonfires and Photobucket? I think was the name .../myspace was my time. Oh and can't forget AIM!!
i hope the influencer part of our culture loses its significance in the years to come. it's extremely exclusionary to its core and doesn't benefit anyone but the influencer who gets free clothes, trips, and opportunities because of their social media numbers. that entire career is based off wanting people to envy you and your lifestyle and its become extremely dystopian and narcissistic. i loved this video and your commentary!
I’m a beauty influencer.. (very micro) it’s sucks bc I actually have talent (not on TH-cam as I’m new) but on Instagram I work my A$$ off 24/7 to make good posts just to get 1 follower a day bc I’m not doing to have people envy my lifestyle but to learn from my tips so that they can do better with makeup too.. and talent will never be enough anymore.
I have never watched any of your videos but ended up watching this in entirity. I agree in that the entitlement of what seems like most of these individuals is unmatched-and the stringy sparkly "fashion" is incredibly gross imo. Thanks for sharing!!
KIKI WITH THE FACTS 👏🏻 omggg i thought i was the only one that felt disappointed about the missing boho! I totally agree, the fashion part of Coachella has changed a loooot, i hope people bring back the boho next year
A big part of boho is straight up appropriating Romani culture so unless they educate themselves, give credit and wear clothes made by Romani designers, boho can go
It’s the getting people to feel bad about how much they spent for me. “Just the flight was $800”….. GIRL. That is $300 short of my RENT. That I STRUGGLE to afford month to month. I feel like, just be APPRECIATIVE that you can even AFFORD to GO to this monstrosity of a fair! This is disgusting and exorbitant and a pure example of reasons why the wealth in America is so unevenly distributed now. It ALL goes to 2 things: looks, and fame. I’m so glad I was a 90s baby that had a chance to play outside without having to dress up and make 7 posts 7 videos 7 shorts Like just….. wth has the internet come to? I’m truly sad to see our people in this state. Smh. 😔
For real lol I used to go to a lot of festivals back in 2010-2014 and Coachella is not what festivals were about back then. It’s literally the opposite of what festivals are supposed to be. My cousin went to the first Coachella and it has just transformed into an influencer gathering so they can post content and sell shit. It’s sad. If you want to go to a festival don’t go to Coachella.
Right coachella feels soulless to me... a bunch of rich famous having a fashion contest to get likes and followers instead of actually enjoying the music
I don't think I would ever want to go to an event where everyone spoken vocal fry. To me that's a sign of huge egos and narcissism. Not my cup of tea more like the cup I'd rather throw in their face. Vocal fry is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Love all this tea! Agree with many of your points, however I do think people have a right to complain when they purchase a ticket for an event and are not able to attend at no fault of their own. Whether you pay $5 or $5,000 for something, you should get what you pay for. Some of this entitlement is definitely next level though 💀
Having gone to Coachella a few times - always go to Weekend 2. It's where people who actually go for the festival experience are and not just there to be an influencer. W1 is sound check for W2 😎
Same agree with the comments…have always wanted to go to Coachella and this is a nice tip to know since I’m not the one to be all over influencers etc. I am a genuine music and art lover!!!
coachella week 1 actually had sound issues but I had a great time. I think people were so into themselves that i had no lines entering and saw mostly everyone I wanted and had a good time. lol
I’m a small business owner, and have grown up with parents who are also business owners. We have a philosophy for clients, customers etc… it’s treat your smallest clients as well as your biggest. They might not receive the exact same packages or service rewards, but their experience will still be the best we can give!
When it comes to the fashion I just have to say: Its INSANELY HOT at Coachella. You can honestly barely wear clothes. When I saw that guy in the long pants even put on a JACKET… he’s dead. That’s why there’s no cute outfits. When I went for the first time in 2012 we used to dunk tshirts in water and wear them around our head just to survive.
This is an example of when the influencers believe they are the festival instead of attending the festival, This whole influencer nightmare online reality absolutely sucks!
This is so true😹they think its a popularity contest like they r still 13 year olds. They seem to care more about ig posts and whos coachella post gets the most like or whos outfit is the best its so pathetic😭and when the artists come on the crowd is dead tbh too busy recording just to post on their stories. They didnt come for the good live music at all, just for the social media.
@@-ameera-9103 I honestly even see this in places like Burning Man with people in their 30s and 40s!! It's so sad because some of the world's best electronic music arts play there and people are too preoccupied with their image to actually listen. I remember one sunrise set where this group of people in front of us on the de facto dance floor were monopolizing the space by taking polaroid pictures and literally put it in the album over and over and over again. It drove me nuts! Some of us actually go to these places for the music!
Oooohhhh this was a good one! It was pretty hilarious to see them getting humbled. We are all people and nobody is more important than anyone else. Also Coachella overall just seems like a nightmare and I LOVE music and concerts.
Agreed!! I absolutely loved going to music festivals here in Australia from like 2000 to 2007 when the big ones started to get real crap bands wise. I remember putting on a old favourite pair of jeans and a $3 tshirt I didn't care if it got ripped or dirty or a band shirt. I could NEVER imagine wearing anything but clear zinc and reapplying during the day, how people can wear make up to these festivals these days blows my damn mind. If I were given free tickets etcetc for Coachella I would 100% give them to someone who would actually enjoy it as I would feel so out of place and judged.
At first I was angered at these ridiculous people, but then I remembered they are young people trying to get a leg up in a dystopian existence where celebrity is more valued than the ability to buy eggs and milk. Don't be mad at them, be mad at the system that created them.
I’m so confused. If influencers are constantly hiring stylists, makeup artists, etc. what the heck r they influencing?? I thought we follow them for their fashion style, their makeup…
Fashion right now is mostly uninspiring, except to street walkers.. I’m ready for a good evolution. Trends are making people look cheap which is sad because in women’s fashion, we have so many pieces and accessories to play with.
While admittedly I actually love the fashion at the moment, the most heinous thing about this year's Coachella is how literally everyone is wearing *exactly* that. No creativity, just content drones.
i go to coachella every year and i love it. Usually go with about 10 or so friends - we do tent camping, hang out together and eat breakfast/drink by the tents in the mornings.. we compare line ups of who we want to see, and usually end up splitting up into different groups and meeting back up multiple times a day. We bring in water bottles and some snacks. party our heartys out and then do it again the next day. No lines, no waiting, no hassel. I was even able to get free merch by collecting water bottles and recycling! It was a cool thing to do because people just leave trash everywhere (sad) but it look me less than an hour to collect 400 empty bottles from the tent camping area. I traded it in for two hats and two tshirts for me and my roommate. There is also a secret cantina inside the festival that has nice loungers, great drinks, and isn't busy because you need a password to get in, but it's fairly easy to find if you know what you're looking for. I live in LA, we drove up - i spent $150 on my ticket on resale, less than $100 for the tent camping for the whole weekend, and probably about another $100 on drinks/food/games inside the festival. I spent less than $500 on the whole experience, and had a blast - met lots of cool normal people in tent camping that were also there to see their favorite artists (lots of foreigners too!). We are not influencers, we just love the music. It's easy to do Coachella and have a great time - it will be a nightmare if you are a clout chaser, and are going for the wrong reasons.
I love this! I know that most festivals or concerts that I have the most fun at I barely have pics but do u have any socials to go look at your time there or any other times there? I'd love to see!!
The worst part of all is that people who genuinely like the artist that go to Coachella (which can even be another subject of matter tbh) could never afford it even thought they will be the ones actually enjoying it the most
Personally I could never go to a festival with multiple artists that I don’t care for. If jack Harlow was there I’d only want to see him. Not anyone else. I’d rather go to a concert instead of a festival
YES!!! especially this year with Harry Styles headlining and billie preforming again. Just makes me upset that most of those influencers don't even care how huge it is that Harry headlined this year
“Now we need to discuss my least favorites and it’s so hard to choose because everybody truly looked awful” HAHAHA I was cackling this whole video! Ugh I love that you always keep it real. It’s refreshing to hear someone say that these influencers are off their rockers fashion wise instead of kissing their butts like so many do. You continue to be the best!
You seem very eloquent and grounded in your perspective about pop culture and the current age of social media. This is the first video I’ve seen from your channel, but keep it up.

I can only imagine the conversations you’ve heard. Ooof.
You should video them, make a channel about it, and become the boss of the influencers. ❤

So messed up
Because they’re probably not that big of a deal. I literally never heard of it myself and I definitely am a possible demographic.
@@sonialinsey8083 Revolve is a huge brand.
Honestly, that’s so sad! The least they could do as a brand is reimburse her for her expenses and travel. It sure has changed.
Darlings?! 🤣🤣

What festival do you go to that isn't about fashion? Have you seen the way people dress to go to festivals or no? For females, it appears to be a competition as to how few clothes they can wear, but still be stylish. They are all about looks and fashion, I'm guessing you don't attend festivals at all.

As someone who has been to lots of festivals over the years and actually enjoys them - I have almost no pictures from the ones I enjoyed the most. The more pictures someone is taking, the less actual fun they are having there, guaranteed.
Same
I’ve realized this is why pictures from the film days look so much better than phone snaps now. When you have to manually shoot, or at the very least understand basic lighting with point and shoots, you actually have to care about what you’re shooting and actually capture a memory more than just a moment.
bf also goes a lot to festivals, and he always have only one photo - before the entry :D i dont go much, because hate crowdy places, but agree with u
if you're constantly taking photos you're not in the moment!
This. I was there in 2008 when nobody even knew what it was. Such a fun time, but I’d never go today.
When did this happen?? It’s so weird.
I’ve never been, but I feel like I’ve also seen its transformation (or shall I say, “downgrade”) over the years, and it makes me sad.
Agree, kinda sad tbh. Definitely have to go weekend 2 if you’re just a normal non influencer and just like festivals! Weekend 2 feels a lot more chill even though it’s not as picturesque lol
Because there are not good artists anymore
I must admit, it's really fun seeing all those influencers confronting the reality of what music festivals are 😂
Music festivals ARE messy, you wait hours in the sun for everything, it's dirty, I mean festivals ! You don't go there to show yourself, you go there because you like music, if not then gtfo of there. I remember doing festivals where I finished covered in mud and dust for three days, don't wear fancy clothes honestly it's a really bad idea lmao
If you go to a festival, be prepared !
Thank you!! 💗💗💗
Yes, thank you. It's about spending time with your friends, drink a beer for breakfast (if you like to) and then watch hours of live music. I think I only showered once because the lines were always so long and honestly who cares.
Amen…. If you didn’t crowdsurf or jump in a mosh pit GTFOH
This!! When the one girl said she doesn’t even like festivals… sheesh
I straight up saw a girl who hired a stylist and was happy that the stylist created outfits that looked like “she could’ve put together herself”

It seems so soulless and honestly super boring to go to a ‘party’ and all it is is photo ops. Being an influencer must feel so hollow.

People are giving them the power to do so seems like. If nobody cared about it..it maybe wouldn't happen?
Yes! Even the "fancy" parts looked sooooo boring!
That's because it is lol
Nothing makes me feel as old as being from the era where anyone who bought a ticket could attend a music festival, and you were expected to recognize only the bands.

I agree. But she’s not saying that part was an issue. It’s their self importance and elitism she’s pointing out is problematic

Same for my archery competitions... you'll never meet me without suncream, bug spray, bite cream and waterproofs 😂😂

That cracked me up! Omg The desert hot! 😂
They ‘influence’ people to buy things. Literally…that’s why they are called that. Now, whether everyone who calls themselves an influencer is actually an influencer, that’s a different topic.

I just found out your channel TODAY and I have spent my Sunday bingewatching your videos. Man, I love commentary channels, I swear you guys are the closest thing to meditating I’ve experienced, if that even makes sense
If you like her videos, you should check out Robert Reacts (beauty/makeup advice on his other channel, but does short videos about how stupid some people are online), and Hannah Alonzo (mostly anti-mlm but also has content where she likes to point out how fake influencer "life" is & unrealistic, so that people don't get depressed when they can't do it too).
As somebody who has pretty major social anxiety when it comes to crowds, Coachella seems like my literal hell. Thanks but no thanks
Same here! I also get claustrophobic and feel like I can’t breathe ( I’m also 5’2 so everyone is taller than me) so these look like the pits of hell! I live close to Austin Tx and stay clear when the SXSW is going on which is huge!

@@Disturbd_76 for reals! I remember a concert I went to in the early 2000s where I got elbowed in the head like 3 times in 30 seconds and I immediately got out of the floor/pit and found a seat up off to the side.
You're a good girl Kylie, and I'm certain your parents couldn't be more proud of the wonderful young woman you've become. Love you bunches!
Go to watershed we’re genuine peeps .
The videos before it stopped mentioned that she wants to do more of them. It would explain why she hasn't posted more anti-MLM videos and why she hasn't mentioned the channel pivot. Other creators have gotten cease and desists and threats to be sued.
LOL. 😂. Nanny for the win.
I laughed so hard at that point. She's what 20? Maybe? Who has a nanny and is old enough to go to a festival by herself??

The fact people are willing to go on a bus to a mystery location with no way out of this situation after what happened at astroworld … people stay away from these shit shows. They are not as fun as social media wants you to believe. Large music festivals are any thing but glamorous
Ironically, the unentitled people that chose to get to the actual coachella festival super early and chose to camp there are having a great time, it's the entitled influencers (who don't even seem to like festivals) who are having a terrible time.
But I'm in Australia and none of this really bothers me lol. Like I would have gone expecting porta-potties and lack of showers and been content with that.
Yeah camping at Coachella is a blast, you just have to plan accordingly

At first I was angered at these ridiculous people, but then I remembered they are young people trying to get a leg up in a dystopian existence where celebrity is more valued than the ability to buy eggs and milk. Don't be mad at them, be mad at the system that created them.
Youre so right
I’m so confused. If influencers are constantly hiring stylists, makeup artists, etc. what the heck r they influencing??

They’re apart of the social engineering - this is one big ghetto episode of black mirror with a sprinkle of the matrix.
They're supposed to be influencing us. Into wearing what they wear, doing our make up like theirs, and BUYING what they buy.

I love you cause watching influencers pose for photos at the revolve event would also be my eternal hell.
literally
i go to coachella every year and i love it.
