This is a brilliant video, Thank you 😊 I’m new to machine knitting and have just got a LK150, I thought I’d have to hand knit any ribbing, didn’t know you could do ribbing like this on my machine, can’t wait to have a go and practice 😊
Dear Diana, My husband got me the Lk150 and its been a little hard, I learned the bond and I have try to make things on this new machine. I'm learning slowly and I know with practice I will get good at, love the sweater wow it looks awesome, I so hope so to be able to learn well by watching you. I got the 101 boot camp Lk150 and she is not as good as you are that is for sure. Thank you for showing the life line sure it will make any ribbing a easy task, I use to do it one by one, but this way is super thank you so much for your awesome work and for showing us how to.
I usually knit one row of the main yarn and thin ravel cord together. That row is then my lifeline and I just remove the ravel cord afterwards. Love your videos!
Hi Diana, Love this video. The entrelac is fabulous. Bravo. Wish I didn't live so far from you. You are truly amazing. I brought out my antique Brother 894 and trying to wonder how and where to begin. Needs a lotta thinking. I chucked it under my bed for oever 10 years, no dust as I cared for it and now decided to knit. I have to refer to the instructions in the book, then get to my computer and watch your videos, to get started. I have to start from the beginning. Gauge swatch is the worst thing for me with the punch cards patterns. Thanks for sharing.
You really make some of the best videos I've seen for general knitting with machine and hand knitting. So many great tips. I'm going to try to make a batwing sweater - it's basically a wider scarf with sleeves on the end. I think the length is maybe 70 inches or so (I haven't found a pattern, but from what I've seen it looks pretty long). Anyway, that would be really tedious with hand knitting, so I'm going to get my bond knitter and knit the body, and maybe circular needles to knit cuffs in the round.
Great video as always, Diana! What would be a comparable cast on method to this awesome bind off? I was making a hat which used the closed cast on; that side is very sloppy and loose compared to this bind off and so I'm gonna have to frog the whole project :( I want to try again with a better cast on method - maybe crochet cast on? Thanks for your videos; I've learned so much about my bond machine from your videos!
Thank you, Diana, for this tutorial. I am making baby blankets; can I do this ribbing on the ends, in combination with the diagonal no roll edging you demonstrated in another video, to have no roll edging all around the blanket? Thank you Diana. Mary-Ellen
Well done, as usual! Thank you for all your teaching videos. Did you do this sweater on the LK150? If so, which yarn? It may be the camera, but it looks like a larger gauge using heavier yarn than the LK150.
Karina! Email me and I'll send you the invitation to tomorrow's local machine knitting guild meeting. We would love to have you! To email me, go to my blog, diananatters.blogspot.com, then go down the left-hand side and look for the envelope icon. Or, go to www.dianaknits.com and slide down to the bottom and you can email me there, too.
Hi Diana, I watched your video and would love to know how to go from stockinette to the dropped stitches in the event I would like to drop 5 stitches (in order to weave a ribbon through). Thank you for your help!
What you need is an eyelet row - where you move stitches over so there are two on one needle, then an empty needle, two on the next needle, an empty needle, etc. Check this video: th-cam.com/video/vLl9kfPzjfw/w-d-xo.html
It is difficult to get this kind of cast-off loose enough for socks. It would be better to a tapestry needle bind off, either a backstitch or a hand-sewn smiles & frowns like I teach in the Happy Cranker.
is there a way to start the knitting with a few rows of this faux ribbing? I am working on converting a hand knit pattern and you knit the front & the back in one piece, making a hole for the neck. This method will work perfectly for the back of sweater rib, but how will I start the front? I just realized I am on my husband's TH-cam account. Any advice of videos I should watch for the front of the sweater ribbing? Thanks, Lisa
If you need to end the work with ribbing, put in a lifeline - that is, sew ravel cord through the stitches you're going to "run." It doesn't take much time, and they'll run just down to the ravel cord. You can also use the ravel cord to pull the stitches open and get your tool in them.
That's an LK150. I believe many machine knitting dealers carry them, and I heard that you can purchase it by mail from other companies, as well, like Lion Brand.
Thank you, I have just seen this and will save up for this, this machine is excellent and ur an amazing teacher, glad to subscribe to you, i have learned alot from your videos for my brother jones 585 machine.

Studio dealers usually carry these. Also, they come up on eBay fairly often.

really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much ;.)
Nice vidio
Is this bind off suitable for the sew-as-you-go socks?

Muito bom. Obrigada
