Look me up in the Dumble clone fb groups where I just posted some demos of the Fuchs ODS layered with the Victory Jack preamp. Dumble tones with plenty of gain available when you need that. And you don't need high volume. And of course it's warmer and fatter than a modeler.
What worries me about these ‘In the room’ tones is the big reverb/delay mixes. Normally in a live setting big reverbs/delays tend to muddy up and get lost. Have you gigged with these, how have they worked out?
This is what I have wondered about like with the Cloud type reverbs, with those TAILS, would you even hear them outside of just messing around in a bedroom, what do they do in a BAND mix.
Not sure about this video but I'm sure John has a video about reverb and delay mixes, or more importantly using the high and low cuts to reduce the prominence or muddiness respectively. If you're using an expression pedal you can also assign it as a controller for one or more parameters. You could set min mix at 10% when all down to 50% at max when you're losing the main signal, or 30-45%, anything really. You can also set the same expression pedal to control other attributes at the same time, such as a tone or low/high cut to tame any muddiness as you increase the mix
From personal experience having used a Vox Tonelab, and now FM9 fractal, I put them right into the front of my Vox AC30, What modelling does is manage the volume levels much lower and make the experience so much better than if it was CRANKED out and blowing the Walls out, it still reacts like it is Cranked you can get feedback and with hollowbody instruments Howls and Woofs just like real amplifiers always did. The Technology has just made it so wonderful, at least for those that love their ears, and want to satisfy themselves/customers/bandmates. An electric guitar player was always playing 2 instruments, the guitar and the amplifier, with plus effects.
I’m a complete novice with the modeling world. So to play in your room or a gig, what is the signal chain on the output side? Does this signal that I’m listening to in the video ever go to a guitar amp?
It can go in any direction... out to the headphones, into an amp, 2 or 4 cable method into an amp, into an FRFR speaker or direct into a PC as an audio interface. Hence why it appeals to so many. John probably goes direct into a PC from the helix and not mic'ing a cab in the room.???
@@steved1099 Lately he has been going direct into the helix native, but does the same as his Stomp, just easier for his Workflow. Settings would be the same.
@ksharpe10 makes sense. If I were doing John's job, the native software is totally the way to go. The foot switching hardware seems a little redundant if just sat still recording. For the person asking the initial question, all the options I mentioned are still possible if you wanted to use an amp as well.
Maybe you're not a Dumble guy, which is fine. That moment when everyone is buzzing about the most expensive thing ever available and that you "need it" in some fashion even if fake, but you hear nothing special compared next to any hotrodded Fender clone.

These tones are why I have a HX Stomp LX and use JC’s presets. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Helix is a Legendry product - beautiful tones for sure
Those tones are wonderful
Beautiful tones! I enjoy these much more than the Two Rock tones in your previous video. -Tom
This is some great tone.. really beautiful playing.

Let’s go! Great way to start a Friday!

For that reason, I don't have to buy a UAFX Enigmatic.
It's a cracking model, stacks up really nicely with the Enigmatic...and obviously you don't have the issue of just 1 preset....
sounds great. Are these available to purchase? If so, are they in the within the Amps in the Room Tones bundle?
You are correct sir
@@philipm33 👍 thanks buddy.
Are you going to capture the two rock with the mini qc? Might be a good vid
I'll see what Chris says, if there's any stand out tones that I can't live without maybe, but for the moment it's the cleans that I like most of all?
As a player any difference feel wise going into an real amp or through a modeller.
