Lol What about Google Cloud Platform, Google Suite, Google Fi, Google Fiber, Google Pixel, Google Analytics - not to mention public infrastructure investments and moats in Android, Chrome, Gmail, Google trends, Google ventures. It's true that Google will have to respond quickly to chatgpt. And I think everyone should be just a little bit more grateful that ChatGPT won't have an insurmountable monopoly position with some competition from Google. And I can only imagine how fast folks will be walking back their criticisms of Google if their LLM becomes a real competitor to chatgpt this year.
I want Google Search. The difference between a GPT platform and a common search engine is that Google Search serves up all reasonably relevant web pages, while a GPT engine selects the answer for you out of the same many relevant pages. This is totally undesirable. That means you can be served up some kind of brainwashing depending on the programmers of the GPT. I want all the different possible answers to my search request, and then I will select the one that makes sense and is useful. To put it another way, I don't want someone else's selection of answers.
