One of the smartest thinkers of our time who actually helps see the reality of our metacrisis. We need a global movement led by our smart youth to address the global course leading humanity to its demise. One small addition to Dan's argument regarding world population is that although it may be plateauing, the consuption aspirations and environmental impact of even the poorer population are multiplying. Reminds me of Thomas Friedman's term "americum" and how most Africans, Asians, South Americans, etc would like to become "americums" who consume 10x more than an average citizen from a developing country.

I've listened to Daniel a lot but often have got a bit lost. This conversation was deep but I could follow it and feel like I've finally got what Daniel is saying. I found it very moving. Thank you.
I think he's gotten better and better and better over the last 3 years or so. Less jargon. Slower speaking rate. More pauses. Helps the listener (me!) digest.
I am not the first to say this, but yes, this is truly the most rewarding 3 hrs and 39 min I have ever spent since seeing Gone With the Wind in 1974 when I was 12. Is there an extraneous thought in Daniel's head? He is so amazingly concise and clear. And Mark, not sure if this part has ever been said, but I have never enjoyed just watching someone listen as much as I do you. It never feels that you are in competition, or looking for your next question: you just feel so very HERE. What a perfect combination. At 62, I've been watching this slow train wreck for my entire life, and of late have felt that my usefulness here has completely expired. It's so nice to sit back and watch brilliant minds continue to explore/ponder/question, still knowing it's all so beyond any kind of fix. Thank you both!!!
I very much hope that people here listen to Daniel’s message and are curious enough to look into his work, and the work of his colleagues. The viewing base of After Skool is the group who needs to learn from philosophers like this the most.
This was a joy to watch. Daniel is saying all the things I've been thinking for decades - but he says it more cogently than I ever could. He also introduced a number of totally new points of view (for me). Thank-you Daniel and @BeforeSkool for doing this.
Thank you Before Skool and Daniel - I relish in your dialogue. The Global Grief Cycle will need grace for the rapid, tangible loss of Life we may soon experience together. I hope we can come to a collective response that does not alienate and instead cherishes harmony to the ecology, creating a new value system closer to a source that exponentiates the innate curiosities, kindness, and compassion that children often harbor towards all the riches of our empirical Earth. Perhaps if "won't someone think of the children" was "won't someone listen to the children", we would have a stronger sense of The Other as opposed to our systems that often utilize fear to develop The Self. If anything, this has helped me understand my depression and slowly step towards a larger acceptance. Time will tell, and I will try my best not to take for granted being truly present - actively listening and taking notice of our wild & creaturely environment as opposed to the aching, obtrusive thoughts of the often false sense of past & future.

He has allowed me to 'join the dots' in a way no other thinker has. Thanks Before skool for an extremely well structured interview.
I have seen many Schmachtenberger presentations before on alot of these same subjects, but i'm tempted to say here, based on my own 53 years of experience, that almost anything worth saying has been said or alluded to or touched upon in this discussion. They who have ears let them hear!
Wow…Daniel’s going for the full Socrates! My biggest challenge is figuring out how to share Schmachtenberger’s arguments with others, when this means I’m asking them to listen to a 3+ hour discussion. I could really use a Schmachtenberger “knowledge graph” to quickly navigate his bespoke dialectic web of ideas. As a follower, I am now familiar with the breadth and depth of his contribution, yet, as a mortal, am unable to so effortlessly articulate it all in daily conversation.
I have this problem too. I'd love to spread his ideas, and I have asked friends to watch these 3+ hour-long podcasts, but to reach a wider audience there is unfortunately the need to shorten the length of the content. There's always a tradeoff between the depth of the information and the time taken to communicate it, though. Much love
I find this conversation to be one of the most brilliant, insightful, enlightening and enlivening conversations I have ever witnessed in a 70 year lifetime. Strangely, I am taken back to the science fiction novels of Doris Lessing, the Canopus in Argos series. In these novels, two versions of attention/awareness, coming to Earth from alien planets on different and opposing missions, represented current and countercurrent. One, which Lessing called Shammat, was the Earth and life consuming mindset that is our current global Zeitgeist (that Daniel describes so brilliantly) and the character of Donald Trump, would be a perfect example of a representative from Shammat. The countercurrent came from Canopus which was a culture of highly evolved, enlightened beings that tuned whole planets to be in resonance with all life and connection in the Universe and to amplify, nurture and partake of that current of life, relationship, goodness, beauty, love and energy. With those amazing metaphors, Daniel, in Lessing's novels would be the character Johor, a cosmic traveler through all time and space and tasked with restoring and nurturing the "Garden of Earth"... Is there anyone else out there that can see the resonance with Lessing's metaphors?
Daniel was clearly a very profound thinker from a young age (example aged 9, factory farming). He is a remarkably articulate communicator able to fluently discuss in depth a range of subject matter, such that it is readily understandable. Maybe no-one can save human civilization's downward spiral but he is certainly doing more than most to opening our eyes before we approach the abyss.
Daniel is basically as wise of a human that exists in the world today. If I was RFK and I somehow pulled off a miracle and won the election, I would get Daniel in my inner circle as soon as possible. He has to be on the dream team of the circle of the wise who are going to get our species into balance as soon as possible. I’d throw some Native American grandmothers in there too.

SIR. My son and I have had the same talks before I heard this, thank you for putting it all out there! Just WOW!
Beautiful conversation, time well spent. Hope you have Daniel on again, you're a great interviewer. Thank you!
Please pass on my love and hug to Daniel. I have been with you since your first conversation and would like to thank you for being you. I see you and hear you. You are wonderfully human. A culmination of evolutionary perception and selflessness in talking your truth. I thank you. Love and peace and namaste Daniel.
Strong words. The uncertainty principle is worrying, the lack of critical thinking is unnerving. Mutually assured destruction quickly comes to mind.

Absolutely! I actually listened to it on normal speed but hit the rewind button more times then I can count lol!
So the game will end when the human being has depleted it all…
What an amazing talk, it gives me shivers!
I am 33 minutes in and I can say this is one of the most fascinating talks I have ever heard. It gives me goose bumps.

Check out his older ones from Modern Wisdom aka Chris Williamson podcast and from rebel wisdom.
Why can't we have smart, thoughtful and reflective people in leadership positions in this country? Writing in Daniel Schmachtenberger!! This one is my absolute favorite, thank you!
Best 3.5 hrs spent in ages! (short of dowsing myself in nature) curiosity, humility and awe ❤
I took notes. These are medicinal thoughts, on topics I didn't even know I thinking in an ignorant way. This logic is stunning and I will process as much as I can.
This was an amazing conversation. Thank you for introducing me to Daniel, I can't wait to hear more.
Just to say, the whole of something is a rare gift, and thank you again, Daniel for reiterating that truth that is felt. 🙏
I came back to watch again and probably again next week. This was very special & deeply thought provoking. ❤ much love to both of you divine masculine ✨
Great interview! This guys intelligence level is off the charts!
Highly concentrated unpasteurized Truth Knowledge and Wisdom .
On the part of how kids are raised, I’ve taught and still teach my two young kids the dangers of conformity and compliance(watch this movie!!!), they now understand the value of critical thinking, importance of reasoning, how to spit biases, trying to understand emotional intelligence and to question everything. For that, the school teacher feels undermined by my 9year old. And she tried to argue the dangers of teaching kids critical thinking. I wasn’t sure if I should cry or laugh at the same time.
Oh wow. Congrats on impending fatherhood! Thank you for this long form conversation and your genuine engagement in it.
I genuinely believe that Daniel is the most intelligent human-being alive. Excited to watch this!
Indeed, his verbal intelligence is phenomenal.
He and John vervaeke, and perhaps Joscha back, in their respective fields.
He is indeed exceptional. And yet also, some people's qualities are more likely to be readily recognized/appreciated for their brilliance than others.
@@polymathpark Indeed. I would also add Karl Friston, Iain McGilchrist, Rupert Sheldrake, and Dennis Hoffman to that roster of enlightening brilliance.
@@MasoudJohnAzizi agreed with all but sheldrake, he still seems to be pushing the metaphysics and mysticism a bit much for me.
This is the most soul-touching interview I have listened in years. It brought tears to my eyes, it is imposible to remain the same after listening to it. Thank you! ❤🙏🏼
Wow! You'd never catch me watching a 3+-hour-long video, but this -- I was riveted!😮Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Daniel Schmachtenberger!😃👍
I've spent the past week slowly but surely watching this wonderful conversation, sometimes re-listening to parts, always deeply appreciating it, hopefully intergrating what I heard. Thank you, Daniel and thank you BSP---good luck on your upcoming, dadhood!
Me too! Taking it in smaller digestible and savoury portions. Revisiting as I need to, to better appreciate each individual message. So much good stuff to take in. I’m old enough to understand some of the context of the negative changes, but young enough to summon the energy to make necessary positive changes. This discussion is pure encouragement for me to change things in a meaningful way. So much gratitude for the opportunity to listen to Daniel, and for AfterSkool. 🙏🏻🕊
👋
This guy is just the best.
Reminds me of Thomas Friedman's term "americum" and how most Africans, Asians, South Americans, etc would like to become "americums" who consume 10x more than an average citizen from a developing country.
when truth enters the room, all else leaves
brilliant guest and a thoroughly sobering conversation on many important topics, thank you for this, very eloquent
I've listened to Daniel a lot but often have got a bit lost. This conversation was deep but I could follow it and feel like I've finally got what Daniel is saying. I found it very moving. Thank you.
Good example of how doing something a lot (podcast conversations, in this case) gives you opportunities to refine and get really good at it.
I think he's gotten better and better and better over the last 3 years or so. Less jargon. Slower speaking rate. More pauses. Helps the listener (me!) digest.
Gr8 observayshuň!👀
@@hcroneyes, his stuff is a lot more accessible now than, say, 5 years ago. Happy about that, as these ideas need to reach as many people as possible.
Daniel is one of my favourite intellectuals, I love listening to this guy, it’s like going down the mental-gym.
I very much hope that people here listen to Daniel’s message and are curious enough to look into his work, and the work of his colleagues. The viewing base of After Skool is the group who needs to learn from philosophers like this the most.
This was great! Daniel, exceptional as usual. Hope you guys have another conversation in the future.
Congratulations for the dad to be! 😀
I'm glad to see Daniel back on some of these channels. Interesting dude for sure
Great work, Mark! Your videos and artistic genius are both enlightening and much relevant on a global scale. Bravo!
One of the best podcasts i listened ever. Thank you for being such a human interviewer and let the person express at will and confortable , while not trying to fill up like most do.
Asking Daniel a question about an idea of petersons is the closest we have gotten to a conversation between the two which I'd love. Your questions were good and thought provoking. Thank you!
I've heard probably most of Daniel's content out there. This one I think is the most comprehensive, intelligible and insightful one.
Daniels transformation into a wizard is nearing completion
Edit:
I suspect he's prepping for the summoning of moloch onto our physical plane.
All he needs is a hat at this point
XD
😅
Poiny
😂
3:36:37 Daniel’s authentic heartfelt wonder at the announcement of fatherhood. 🥰♥️
thank you so much for this podcast/lecture: soooo much wisdom and insights; and it fills us with hope. thank you.
It's good to hear from you again, Daniel. The beard is absolutely epic.
So much knowledge to unpack… so blown away!
3 hrs & 39 minutes, yet it felt like 30 minutes. Daniel is only getting smarter & clearier in his delivery! Props & pewer to him who possesses wisdom!
King Daniel reigns… if only we had leaders with this level of wisdom, intelligence and integrity.
Daniel's take on life makes so much sense when you hear him say it. My brain is simply not wired to see these things. Thank you for explaining this.
Truly
Âmen, bruh
This comment section is amazing you all deserve applause as well for the inspiring comments and for caring about this most pressing topic and the leading voice (Daniel) trying to get the word out!
Brilliant. Thank you for this cornucopia of food for thought. 👏
I've watched pretty much all of Daniel's youtube content. All of it is amazing. I love how he keeps explring why things happen and can reference all his own experience and what he has learned from reading and interacting with others. He has allowed me to 'join the dots' in a way no other thinker has. Thanks Before skool for an extremely well structured interview.
This was a fantastic interview! Love listening to Daniel’s thoughts and this one seemed even more expansive than many of his others. Thank you!
A new Schmachtenberger drop!! Yes! Made my weekend! :-) Thank you for this!
I started listening to Daniel years ago and just keeps blowing my effin mind.
I have seen many Schmachtenberger presentations before on alot of these same subjects, but i'm tempted to say here, based on my own 53 years of experience, that almost anything worth saying has been said or alluded to or touched upon in this discussion. They who have ears let them hear!
HELL YEAH!!!! Back with the schmach! This is gonna be great
Thanks for having Daniel on your show. He is a modern day prophet. The only other speaker who ever reached me this way was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Conversations like this raise my baseline
An amazing conversation. The train of thought throughout is so coherent and lucid
Wow just today on the shower I had a huge download about human nature, and it was exactly this, thanks 🙏
Fantastic conversation. Thank you for posting it. Also congrats on your soon to be fatherhood. Such a blessing for your life.
This conversation represents one of the most precise and concise surveys of Daniel Wisdom I've seen in a long time.
Much love
This video needs so many more views! Millions! ✨🙏✨
Thank you Daniel.
Wow, what a beautiful way to end a conversation like this. Thank you and congratulations!
Simply brilliant!
Profound topics I like how he highlights the mode of attention to everything causes many of the problems. Deep conversion. Well done. Thanks
I always catch any Daniel talks I can! Thanks for this!
