Dude, that first sequence: nailed it, smooth flow, solid through and through :) Second sequence: as you said about one of the shots, «a bit rough» ;) It felt like the second sequence was not a «sequence», just a set of shots that thematically didn’t really gel. The flagpole shot: perfect, the walking shot with your shadow in it: probably would have worked better in slowmo and cropped in a bit. But overall the second sequence felt disjointed, spanning too wide. I think maybe doing *just* the marina/by the water, tying it into one sequence from the harbour, the flag, the walk, some boats maybe for closeups, doing a «waterfront» themed sequence would have tied it together. Same with the square/area with the fountain: a sequence just from that area, close in, establishing, some midshots, artsy details, and again thematically «the square», one place, contained. Really digging into this 7 shot sequence thing for a little bit, trying different approaches and refining it, playing with it, expanding on it and exploring might be a really good idea, tying into some of the things we talked about in some previous comments, about «starting small» and expanding, and then stringing those bits together :) Third sequence also worked great at the end, tight, confined to a single «theme»/purpose :) Felt like it could have been placed earlier, like you planning. And then for the end you packing up gear, getting in the car and leaving as a sequence would have been spot on :) Would love to see a downtown tour video of maybe 3 locations, each with a «confined» 7 shot sequence, broken up by 2-4 paragraphs of facts or info - that would make for a great «city presentation video» expanding on utilizing the 7 shot sequence to tell a story :) That first sequence though, and third, simple, effortless and spot on, now I wanna try it :)
I am on the same page... I think youre right, I tried to make it too wide of an area in that second sequence! I ran into some problems with the walking shot. I need to mess with some of the setting in camera as I had to use warp stabilizer and it wouldnt let me slow down the footage after. So more learning about all of that for me! I LOVE the city history/7 shot sequence video idea! I will be starting the planning process on that one! Lots of great cool history in Sanford so that will be a fun one! Thank you so much for the feedback too! Its all about taking that one step and I learned a lot just filming this, but youve added even more! I will have many more videos in this area so I know the sequences will only continue to be refined!
