Good luck and welcome. Been shooting Lumix mft for almost 4 years and never gave up. Have 4 Panasonic Leica lenses and that is what kept me with Lumix. When G9ii came out it just cemented me to it. 🙂
amaaaaazing your doing a video about this. All manufacturers have to finally build LUTs for stills into their cameras. What LUTs did you use for the images in your intro?
Great stuff, man! I’ve been shooting with my own LUTs for family photos and it’s such a time saver. Other camera brands should take notice and make something similar available for their cameras.
great video, I would appreciate if you could make another one where you will show step by step how to create a LUT based on some photo found on the net or screen grab from a favorite movie
Not going to lie: I thought you were going to show us adjustments you made to emulate film, and I was about to dust off my old Lumix LX-100 (mark I). Damn it. 😂
Please create more of this jpeg, looking forward if you can replicate Ted Forbes' lut fujified and kodakified and I would purchase that in a heartbeat! As that is more of a lightroom preset but Sean from Lumix had replicate it in Lumix's recent video where he able to apply Eterna etc by exploring in Photoshop putting layers and export it as LUT
The second part leaves the jpegs highlights blown out? Is that just the best it can do? I love Panny btw…Just not sure the jpegs look good in the highlights with that method.
That shot of the Stockholm metro tells me that you had a Panasonic on you when you came to Stockholm for the Fuji X summit and a part of me is going like “Betrayal!!!” 😆
If you love the arri look then you definitely gonna love the images coming out of Lumix cameras. Currently shooting on the Lumix S5IIX and the image quality is insane
One other way to use this is to shoot in raw, but use your the created lut. You then see the edit in camera, then add the lut on import in lightroom. Or even shoot in raw and jpg to get one with and one without. On two different cards even
Hey Tyler I purchased your LUTS and my photos and videos look fantastic... I really cant explain it... but I do have a NOOB question my SD cards on my Pansonic S5M2 and they are getting full so I moved all my files off to an external drive but I want to format my SD cards in the camera will I lose the LUTS that I put on the card or are they burned into the camera memory somewhere?
All fujifilm need to add to their film simulation settings is HSL sliders and RGB graphs to affirm their position for creating best custom SOOC images.
Easier to scroll trough the photo styles to my photo style and apply the lut from the bottom section there? This seems more complicated than it is. Love your luts 👌🏻
I heard that this could be done with LUMIX and I was interested. But looking at those complicated menus that are not labeled intuitively makes me think a LUMIX will be a lot of work. I don’t know why making simple menus is so hard, I think they have the wrong kind of people designing them. Menu must not be designed for technical people. They must be designed for people who have no prior knowledge of anything and are relying entirely on being guided by what the menu says
How about Nikon Zf, can you show how to get SOOC usable and good real life looking photo and video? Is it really more fun to use and more friendly looking in stranger eyes in public? I want to get dynamic range of log but don't want to post edit and want the look I want straight apply to the log in camera, that's what real time out means right? If so I think having log isn't enough and that's not what iPhone log wanted to stay at, real time lut is the future at least for everyday people because it take too much file size and time for log especially the ProRes version, if real time lut can straight convert ProRes file to normal MOV or MP4 is even better!
I've been researching this camera and was wondering, are you able to add the built-in grain effect with all picture profiles when using these real-time luts?
I was already planning to sell my Sony a7 III and a6300 in order to buy the ZV-E10 II but was having second thoughts about it since it doesn't have mechanical shutter for photography. Now because of this video I want to be familiar with the Panasonic Ecosystem. I'll start with the Panasonic G95 and when I'm an expert with it then I'll upgrade to GH7 or S5IIX or S9.
So… I’m a bit confused. The photo mode can originate in V-Log and have a LUT on top, but the exposure is just… wrong? For some reason? Seems like an improper transform of some sort on Panasonic’s part.
@@kamilpotato3764 that’s fun, but I’m pretty good at making my own LUTS, so… what gives? Is Standard a defined space and gamut? Because V-Log is, and they should have it implemented correctly. If they don’t, that’s a verifiable bug.
u cant apply the lut in-camera on an existing video on the card, right? i mean, sorta like film in vlog, download the file to pc, put the card back in, grade it in camera, offload the graded to pc. so that we keep both vlog and graded (in-camera) files
i bought the luts, I follow the process but for some reason everytime I change lut, the others go back to v log, how do I keep them all in std profile?
So, does the luts apply to raw?? Im confused. i always thought raw CANT be effected, and i know their are jp and raw for photos, but for the video, im much more in experience. im not sure im computing fully... their is raw and jp for video right its the same concept as for photos.. right??
Luts will not be applied to raw, it will be applied to jpeg. Set your camera to capture raw+standard and you will get both raw and the jpeg versions of it.
@@NeostheticProduction also if you are using picture profile that has the lut installed, and your camera is set to capture just raw, even when you see the lut applies on the evf, the raw files wont show the added lut. It remains raw even if shooting on the lut/picture profile. Hope that makes sense. I do this because theres certain luts i like to see how my pictures might turn out, and then edited the raw however i like 👍🏼
Hi - just bought your luts as a starting point/test BUT have a question... with the whole need to use a modified LUT due the the underexposure of the raw file when using vlog+realtime lut (without the lut applied to an underlying STD profile)... I'm wondering, do you have any recommendations since I have some luts I've spent a lot of time on... that are for vlog. If I use them on realtime lut function (with the underlying profile being vlog - the JPEG looks great but the raw file is underexposed). Not sure if you can help. I'm assuming you did something to transform your vlog to film to give a similar result to std to film... something I'm looking to see if there's a way to do with my existing vlog luts. Perhaps you created a STD to vlog and then applied your lut after and exported the whole thing as the photo lut? Not sure but hoping you can help! Thanks!
Does the lumix by using real time lut the dual native iso values 640 and 4000 just like vlog or is it using the standard iso values from 100 and above?
noobie question. If I shoot in V-log can I apply the LUT in camera, if I don't want to edit in computer? So do I shoot V-log and aster recording the clip, I apply the LUT?

Has anyone tried this with generated luts from Dehancer? I feel like this could be the move with this feature! Also I find most luts are just to much to use with STD profile and end up with way to much contrast and saturation

Pity that there is no grain option for all colour profiles. Another minus is limit of LUTs stored on sd card.
Actually it is option to add grain to photo. One of the color profiles has it and you can add and set strenght of the grain.
