Hi Laura another enjoyable video Thank you The white sands were very cool New Mexico is a nice state to visit & travel through I hope your enjoying your trip Be safe out there Ridin In the Wind Take care Looking forward to your next video 😎😎
This one brings back memories. The first time I rode my motorcycle in White Sands where the sand was packed over the asphalt, I was scared to death. This Midwesterner kept thinking he was riding on snow... even though I knew it wasn't snow...... anything that white had to be snow! Wish I could pound the like button twenty times.
Great video! I’m local to the area and have hit these roads on two wheels many times but never captured it the way you did. Impressive that your doing it on a 883!
I love your videos. I also love your bike. I own an old sportster 883 (older than yours) and a Dyna Fatbob. My only wish is that I could listen to the wind and engin roar when you ride. I am very impressed with how you pack and plan your trips.👍
I’m trying to figure out how people get those awesome audio clips of their engine. So far all I get it a lot of wind noise. Hopefully I’ll figure it out soon!
One way of doing it is to clip the mic to the rear heel side of your trousers/pants bottom seam. On a sportster the right leg as that’s the side the exhausts are on. This picks up the exhaust note and as it’s at the rear doesn’t get the wind noise too much. Doubtless people will say ‘what if it falls off’, it won’t. Make sure to use the fluffy wind deflector too. Alternatively position the mic somewhere to the rear behind you on your luggage out of the wind and closer to the exhaust. Loving your videos. Thank you
You could tell me it is sugar, and I would believe it! must be something to see live... Organ NM. Sandwiches, Lunches, Beer and Dinners The 4 food groups! 😊
Thank you, Laura. I remember seeing the white peaks of this place rising up out of the desert. We had a schedule to keep and so pressed on, but not detouring is a regret. Thanks for showing me what's there. And, also, “Whoa, Nelly! WTF is that? Interstate checkpoint? Have my papers ready?” Is the federal government taking away our “right to travel” freely?
That just means you have an excuse to plan a road trip out that way again to see White Sands!! I’ve run into a few checkpoints but they always wave me through, thankfully!
Another great video. Today my sportster got a oil filter puncture at 60mph coated my left leg and bike. Got towed home. I dont know how to send pic here. If you know another way to receive,I’ll send ya pic of bags, top case, gas can set up, i told ya about. but luggage custom rack not done yet
@@solo.roader iv never done instagram. But ill see how f i can set it up to send u pics. Hopefully in a week i can have it all finished for photos. 6-9 i leave san diego here for Seattle area. Both places i have small properties to stay for bikers. If your in either locations let me know. Im somewhere on the road most of the year. Stay safe.
Don’t get me wrong… it’s feel more like hell,s angles … or lot more should I start putting their names … very good friends of mine … when ever asked they were there …
Laura: I just rode my Harley Panamerica from my home near Houston to Bakersfield, California and back. One little interesting town I stopped in was Pie Town, New Mexico. It seemed like your kind of place. Did you visit there? If so, did you stop for a piece of pie?
I did stop for a piece of pie, it was really good! Like you, I ride solo so I find excuses to stop frequently to get off the bike for a bit, people watch, or just enjoy the moment. You are young and your motorcycle contributes to your zest for life. I’m 80 years old still have that yearning to be on the bike and see what’s around the next bend. It doesn’t go away I’m happy to report. Keep riding Laura! Continue to explore what’s over the next hill, while savoring the little things along the way, like maybe a piece of pie! Best wishes and God bless you!
I had no problem with it- a big portion of the sandy section of the road was compacted so there were no issues there! It was mostly just the larger turns in the road that had a bit of loose sand.
I enjoyed watching this, all that sand in the road made me a little nervous and I wanted to jump through the screen and yell.. don’t use the front brake with all that sand on the pavement! lol. I have to say, you really have put that EVO 883 through its paces and it seems as reliable as many people say they are. It’s the first time I noticed the heated grips as well. It nice the officers and the dog waved you through that checkpoint. Such an enjoyable video to watch! Take care Laura.
I was a bit nervous riding through the sand at first, but it wasn’t so bad! I think my worry at the time was replaced with joy… finally being able to feel the warm sun- it felt like such a blessing! Thank you for your comment. Take care!
Another beautiful video!! Can I ask, what do you use for editing software to make your videos? Your background music and edits are really inspiring. I want to start to make my own and just looking for advice. Take care and safe travels!! 🤘😎🇺🇸🎶
That’s awesome, I hope you do- I’d love to tune in! I use CapCut to edit. I find it’s one of the simplest platforms to edit on. And for music, I recently downloaded an app called Epidemic Sounds that has a whole bunch of copyright free music. I find it difficult to find copyright free music that’s more my style- while the app is simple, I find it takes a lot of weeding through to find some of the better music.
@lauradanielle1991 Thank you for the advice! I do have CapCut downloaded to my home editing computer, my iPad, and my phone. I will download Epidemic Music and check out their selections! Thank you for your feedback! If you ever need a place to stop and fuel up, do laundry, camp out I'm located in Minnesota about 30 miles West of the Twin Cities. Take care and safe adventures ✌️🤘😎🇺🇲
I’m watching your adventures from Pickle Lake Ontario, your videos get me excited to Ride my Bike on my next days off. One question how are you ridding your Sporty on Sand? I get Nervous when I’m on my KLR with Knobby tires. You’re more skilled than I am Laura.
Right on!! Have you ever driven the road north of Pickle? I’ve thought about taking it a little ways, but I’ve never quite had a reliable enough vehicle 😅. Riding in the sand wasn’t too bad on the sporty! Aside from the shoulders, turns and a few little sections, most of the sand was compact enough to not worry too much.
I’ve only gone a little ways north of Pickle Lake but being a pilot in Northern Ontario and Northern Manitoba the staff vehicles I get are “intended” to get you to and from work only so I haven’t ventured too far. I actually started my career in Flint Flon Manitoba flying a Cessna float plane. I’m kind of new to motorcycles. When I saw your ride to Flin Flon it reminded me how I always fly over all these cool places but I never get to see much of it close up. So last year I got my motorcycle license and bought myself a motorcycle and my plan was to explore a lot of these end of the road places. I really feel like your choice of music really captures the feeling of Northern Canada. Really good stuff Laura. I always look forward to your next video. Be safe!
Way cool that you went to White Sands! We love all our National Parks. Thanks for sharing this 🏍️ adventure.
Thanks for watching!
Outstanding and Awesome as usual! Thanks for sharing and taking all of us along on your wonderful vacation! As always be safe!

Welcome aboard! Thank you ☺️
It is cold here in Northern Ontario also...so I feel your pain.
Props for traveling old school with the paper map lol.
Happy Trails!!
Warm, sunny days are on the way! Ride safe. 😊
Very enjoyable videos thanks Very much

It really does look like snow!! But at the same time, it also feels like there should be an ocean in the middle of all that sand. Beautiful place!
Almost looks like salt! Loved it!
Agreed!

Thank you- You live in a beautiful area!
Ouch, that's pretty cold. Good job on the video!
Yes it was! Thank you. ☺️
Yr Dad must watch theses clips to I'm sure, and he's proud of ya too ❤..
White Sands is an amazing place. It can be 100° but the sand doesn’t get that hot because it’s a different sand that’s on the ocean beaches.
That’s fascinating!
I enjoy the videos. They have a calmness about them. Just rode through New Mexico, Arizona, and California this month.
Thank you! I hope it was good run 😃

All that sand & no ocean.
Did you find the sand difficult to ride on (while on asphalt).
Always nice to see a new posting from Laura.

Fun. Thanks for making the video. Enjoyed watching while sitting in my recliner here in Connecticut. I plan to get out on my bike tomorrow. Peace.
Awesome! I hope your ride tomorrow is a good one! 😄
Nice video Laura. Lots to see in New Mexico
Glad you enjoyed it! The list of things to see is endless- I can’t wait to get back and do some more exploring. 🤭
@@solo.roader Take your time and find the special places
I like the big bag you're using this trip. Seems it'd simplify packup.
Thanks! Most of it’s contents are camping gear (that I never ended up using 😖).
Hey Laura! I like your travel setup. Where did you get that second “shelf” on your back rack?
My dad made the backrack for me, and I had a friend modify it a bit when I was away from home 🤗

Cool. Did he use an existing backpack and modify it or just adapted to your bike using your existing back rest?
He welded an addition to the small luggage rack I purchased at HD.
I dunno how you're managing to pound out so many miles with that tiny tank and no cruise control, but you are. Bravo!
With a lot of calluses at plenty of gas station stops! 😅. Thank you for your comment.

Enjoyed that again Laura, editing is crisper and well edited. What was the wiggly arrow sign, large snake ahead ? Roll on the next one
Thank you! No large snakes thankfully, just twisty roads 😅
Look beautiful there ! Everytime you caption 7 layers 😂
It sure was hard to bend… 😂

Surprised you could ride on sand with street tires without slipping & sliding around. Will have to check it out the next time I'm down there.

Ah...you did make it to white sands....isnt it crazy how the landscape changes so quickly as you enter the sand
It sure is! What a beautiful place. With all that sand I was half expecting an ocean to appear. 😅
were those roads sketchy with the sand everywhere?
Not really! A few of the corners and turns in the road were a bit soft, but most of the road sand was compacted.
"Just before 10 in the afternoon"??? I think you meant morning, lol. Nice video
