WELCOME! To todays video!! For every new person welcome! to every subscriber welcome back!! Today I want to cover every cost of buying a brand new Yamaha MT-07!! From cost of bike, to parts, labor, tax and dealer fees!! I Want to cover every fee and hidden fee attached by the dealership!
Dealerships typically add several different fees to the cost of owning a new motorcycle buying one can be daunting and without experience this all may be overwhelming. I want to show you what to expect so you can plan and decide what's right for you.
Today we ride my brand new Yamaha MT-07 around Raleigh and Wake Forest while we go over every cost of ownership!! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Just picked up a 2024 blue mt07 last week… all the Jersey dealership wanted $10,200. None willing to budge on the price. I found it for $9400 otd in Pennsylvania… tax tags and everything… 1hr and 28 minutes away… well worth the drive!
Saved yourself 800 bucks by just taking a detour I like it 😎
@@Paramoto959 Made effective 266 dollars per hour, which is comparable to 540k a year salary. That's how that math works out. Definitely a justified drive to save the money. Whenever people don't "think" saving a little bit of money for a drive to a little bit further dealer, or picking up OT where you might really work for 1 hour, but get paid for 3-5 hours... You have to factor it like this. Keeps you motivated to pick up every dollar you see. =)
I had my local dealership quote me $5800 OTD on a new Honda Grom about 7 years ago vs a sticker of $3300, i went home and found a dealership 3.5 hours away in another state and got it for $3600 ending up about $4000 after i paid the state tax. Thats not a small amount, that is a crooked dealership.
Some dealerships are sketchy. I had a Harley dealership try to do something similar to me a few years ago. Glad you held out for a better deal 😎
Your riding a wheelie monster and it’s a great vid and very informative thanks
I’m hoping this is the bike to teach me “intentional” wheelies 🤣🤣
Your vids motivate me so much! Looking to get an MT07 myself! 🤙🏾 from CA
same here brotha..
Cali is ridiculously expensive 😮💨
Thank you! The bike is totally worth the wait! 😎
@@nickgt91 I know I can’t imagine what they’re gunna want to charge me 🥲
Shop around the best you can, get quotes. Unfortunately these bikes are in high demand and there’s not much room in profit margins with them. So I don’t think anyone is getting great deals.
Setup is the labor charge for unboxing and assembly (this can vary from dealer to dealer) and my guess is your other labor charge was for installation of the exhaust. Shipping and destination fees are usually listed on the manufacturers website. Some dealers will inflate these charges so getting a online/phone quote from several dealers is a good idea. Low supply pandemic era is over so negotiating a deal is far more possible than it has been for the last few years.
So many charges.. thanks for the info 😎
I’m getting the same bike soon!!!!! I’m so excited
You should be!! It’s an amazing bike!! 🤣🤣
nice I just got mine on the 17th
@@RH-to8dh nice! How you liking it? I’ve been having fun doin a buncha small mods and stuff 😎
@@Paramoto959 It's great, but a bit too much bike for my current skill level(fresh out the msf course). Nearly dropped it 3 times now (smh) but I was able to ride it for 2 hours on the streets; got her up to 3rd gear today; which was a new feat for me. Slowly gaining confidence each time I take her for a spin.
Haven't done any type of mods to it but I have a few things I'm considering; first and foremost will probably be a crash cage just to be safe LMAO
@@RH-to8dh might not be a bad idea to prioritize the cage 🤣🤣 we’ve all been there, I remember riding my first bike home on a 45 mph road at 35 mph scared to death 🤣🤣🤣
I have an out of state dealer that has been selling msrp, freight and setup 600 together over msrp otd, tax tag and title at the DMV (way cheaper than an in state dealer). a Honda place in Chattanooga has zero fees. it does pay to shop around it's just a pain.
Totally a good idea, I don’t understand how these dealerships charge so much….
i didn't haggle....maybe i should have but i was so happy, just to be able to get one....put down 500.oo on 4-15-2022 & got it on 8-05-2022....paid cash ...9,600.xx total.......I love this bike...have made many mods ...i subscribed
That’s not a bad price for out the door 👍 your wife / gf may not agree with me, but I don’t think you can spend too much on something that brings you enjoyment 😎 what mods have you done?
@@Paramoto959
I’m single….
Corbin seat & sissy bar, front, rear & engine sliders, radiator cover, TST front blinkers, Rocform phone holder, Shoei helmet w/ Cardo speakers system inside, listen to music, that’s why o want to keep my stock/quiet pipes…I need to make a video & post it
@@Paramoto959
My MT07, is kinda like my g/f… haha
I treat my bike very nicely 💙💙💙
@@Paramoto959 last December I bought a 2022 Honda 520 Foreman 4 wheeler, still under warranty, FB marketplace, 6,500.xx
Have 10 very private acres to live & ride on… it’s all paid off too…
Nice lol and 10 acres? I wish 😎
Almost the exact same price as the one I recently got. They quoted me $10,230 out the door(this is with all the fees, taxes, and the bike price. I got them to bring it down to $10,000 flat, plus throw in some frame sliders($80 value), which was great for me.
Edit: just to clarify though; this is just the stock bike, no cool exhaust; so you got the better deal overall!
$10 flat isn’t a bad deal homie you did well! I didn’t do much negotiating, they had three left overs so I think they were cutting deals to any shmuck who walked threw the doors on mine 🤣🤣
Currently there's a deal going on at fun bike center in San Diego CA for $6k before fees which ends up being about $9k out the door
I would jump all over that deal 😎
Get a GoPro 12 with max lens mod,I love my brand new 23.only 58 miles so far but it is still winter here in mn
I def need to upgrade but I don’t think the quality of the 8 is really a hindrance at the moment 👍 Minnesota? Sounds cold 😎
$1,061 for a full akropovic exhaust installed is GREAT 👍🏻
I wasn’t complaining, I wanted to do the work myself but I also wanted an exhaust ASAP so it worked out 😎
I got a decent dealer in town, mine was 9,100.00. Brand new 2024 wasn’t even put together yet had to wait a day after trying to buy it. Labor was 300.00, title and related fees was 55.00, and then sales tax. Only thing I paid. Blessed, when I was shopping for some at TN dealers their freight fees were almost 900 bucks, almost twice what Yamaha list as what they charge dealers. So yeah some places are a scam and it tends to be the bigger places. Also did 0 haggling, that was just what they offered
That’s not a bad deal bro! Hope it treats you well this season! 😎
@@Paramoto959 it’s been a dope time so far on it, ride safe dude ✌️
You too!! 👍😎
Im thinking of buying my 1st bike soon and got my eyes on the MT07, seems to be highly recommended. wanted to see if you also recomend. The only thing is I am a big boi. Im 6.2 and about 285 punds. would that be an issue?
No one can tell you what bike will work for you. Go sit on one and see if you like it 😎👍
Damn that's a huge difference with Europe. I ordered 3 weeks ago my MT-07 2023 PURE for only 7099 EUR (normally it's 7799 EUR but they have discount atm)
Is the pure, another model? I don’t know what the exchange rate is at the moment but I’d be willing to guess it’s fairly similar 😎
@@Paramoto959 The pure is the same model only it’s shiny black with the previous dashboard. (I don’t personally like the new one). The price in dollars is 7689 USD 😁 the version which you have is around 8100 USD
I can see that, honestly given the choice I’d probably take that as well 😎 good buy!
Looking to get my first motorcycle and really want an MT-07 but im broke. I think ill go with an older used fz07
Awesome choice, you really can’t go wrong tbh 😎
Uncle Sam always gets his cut even in the afterlife .
You’re not lying 🤣🤣
@@Paramoto959 about to get a 24 sv650. I'm a sucker for v twins. Great video cause it showed realistically how much it will cost me. Taxes really add up. Mt 07 was my 2nd choice. Happy riding and grats! Be safe.
Taxes and alllll the dealer fees.. Super lame. But still not super expensive :) Happy riding to you as well!
dealer near by is quoting me $9274 OTD price on 2024 Yamaha Blue. Unfortunately, I need a little more time for my credit score to bounce back from a temporary drop, and for me to get 1k together for a down payment. How many months financing did they allow you to do? I was gonna do 36months, but if they let me do 48 months, that would be nice. Either way, I plan to pay it off within 2years, but having a smaller payment just in case life throws me a curve ball, is better.
I went all the way to the max length of loan. I usually pay them off quicker. 🤣
Looking at getting my first bike, looking at the MT-03, MT-07, Z500, Z650, or SV650. My question is how is insurance typically on them?
Totally depends on you and your area. I pay next to nothing for my MT. But I’m also old, I don’t have any claims, and I live in the sticks.
Insurance takes all that into account to calculate the risk. High risk age, high risk area like a city where there’s more wrecks and theft, and claims made.
In general though shop around and you shouldn’t see a big bill for these bikes. 👍
Small observation to share. I’ve seen a lot of people get an SV and be disappointed. I don’t typically see that with MT owners 😎
@@Paramoto959 gotcha. Yeah I live in a town and work in a slightly bigger city. In between is all country roads. so only 20% of my ride is in an urban area. I also want something that will do fine on the highway to visit mom 2 hours away which is why I'm apprehensive about getting the MT-03. Also I'm 35 so speed isn't a huge factor
@FDNY101202 I wouldn’t get the 3 unless you were a 20 something year old fresh beginner straight out of MSF. Which you aren’t. I’d look at the 7 or the 9 for highway use 😎👍
do you know if the bike need the flash when having the full exhaust on ?
Not with the Akro system. It’s specifically designed for the bike so no flash needed 👍😎
mt 07 does not have traction control and anti-choping clutch. Don't you miss it, for safety?
I do miss the no slipper clutch, I’m constantly locking the rear wheel 🤣
@@Paramoto959 Don't laugh, it will be my first motorcycle after 30 years
No laughing here, hope you have fun!!
My 2023 was close to $11k out the door in Virgina. $10,700.
Mine too with the exhaust lol
Just bought a 2024 out the door 8700
Fantastic! I hope you enjoy it homie! 😎
What is your state sales tax? 2024 base price is $8199.
@rebellucy6200 3% for vehicle tax 😎
Should've went with 09 yeah its a few thousand bucks more but it's soo worth it man.
If you value its much better suspension, brakes, electronics, handling, looks (IMO), features (slipper clutch, quick shifter, cruise control), and approx 50 extra HP I agree the MT09 is a far better deal. If your just looking for something with a high "fun factor" the 07 and 09 are pretty much on even ground and it's not as if the rest of the MT07 isn't any good, it's just not comparable with the MT09. Many riders may also lack the experience and skill to even be able to appreciate the 09's performance advantages or prioritize economical transportation (07 has lower initial price, insurance costs, and fuel consumption) making the MT07 a better purchase option for them.
I like the MT07 I bought it mainly to be an around the town bike and it’s done really good so far 😎
The SP MT09 looks sick
Gotta love the dealer theft fees
Stealership 🤣🤣
BC Canada - 23 MT07 $9999.99 + Fees $999.99 + Tax = $12,607 (no mods)
Gawd… that’s rough 🤯🤯
Why are motorbike customers ripped off so. On a side note, everyone loves the MT09, but sure looks ordinary, diminiative, cheap, and ugly. The exposed engine looks a spaghetti assembly of parts. And what about that humongous, underslung, exhaust!?? Just saying, and I might buy one, based on the fun factor of this bike. Not to mention the, associated, Japanese reliabilty of this bike. Why can't Ducati genes be injected into the MT09!?
dji or insta its much better
I’m open to changing but I’m also knee deep in GoPro, I have all the batteries and accessories so to switch all the way over would be costly 😎
