Thanks for testing Matt. The earlier RB Tour balls were a lot easier to scuff up - so nice to see the durability improvement confirmed. The RB Tour x is our firmest ball - so relative to our other balls its actually spins the most on full shots. The RB Tour is a little lower compression - so spins less on full shots. Based on that - your spin numbers were pretty low. It's possibly a result of hitting from the matt. Will be interesting to see driver numbers when you get the chance.

Would love to see a comparison of a brand new Pro-V1 against a scuffed up Pro-V1 to see how much performance we're sacrificing by using the same ball for multiple rounds.

I love the spin I get from this ball of the wedges. I wouldn't say that the ball will last though, I often see the groove marks\shavings after a well hit wedge.

Played alot of different golf balls. From online only purchase to the tour classics. Prior to the final lockdown, I finally broke 80 twice after using Wilson's duo optix yellow. Now my ball of choice. Feels great around green, ball flies straighter than ever , have not lost any distance.
Please test this one and let the world know, expensive is just because of tour pros

Interested to hear your thoughts on this Matt, but are your baseline numbers focused around on course stats and the numbers you’ve seen testing here off of a mat indicative of hitting off a mat? We all know spin drops off when using a mat and just wandering your thoughts here

I love my OnCore Elixr golf balls. I'm a teens handicap...probably around 18. And I've been improving lately. These balls feel great and my distance and control have increased with my change to these balls. OnCore themselves have 3 balls they sell now and this is the mid range ball for around my handicap. They have a tour ball, but I haven't tried it at the price and construction aren't really for me right now.

I think the most important point is to use the same brand and type of ball for your game. For me it’s the TM RBZ soft for more than a year now. I know there are better balls in the market speaking of distance, spin or feel but pricewise the RBZ soft makes a good deal (for me).

I have tested more than a dozen different brands and several balls within each brand each for five consecutive rounds and notwithstanding personal preference and swing speed etc - 12 handicap- though a senior golfer, my shortlist in terms of performance across driver, 7 irons, wedges at present include: Bridgestone brx, snell mtbx, Taylor made tour response, - incidentally tried seed, Inesis, srixons, vice, titleists of course including the tour speed, callaways, Honma, and the mizunos including the tour rb (which came close to a shortlist but did not make it partly for reasons of stop on the green/spin. Though compression is no longer sufficient anymore to chose a ball because of two reasons (different measurement by each brand, new technology changes). I even tested these against the older balata balls which I still had and keep from years back.

Taylormade RBZ soft (60 compression). Replaced my ProV1 with these. They last only half as long (new ball every round) but at less than half the price (often on sale at 30% of the price of a ProV1) it’s a great performing ball. And yes, I’ll usually lose a ball long before I need to replace it.

I'm a huge Mizuno fan ,, I just love their golf equipment ,, I bought two dozen Mizuno balls the RB Tour and the lower priced MP-X. The MP-X is as good a golf ball that I have ever played it's as good as any premium ball on the market it does everything right !!
The RB Tour is a terrible golf ball, one of the worst I've ever played, hard, no feel, just a clunky awful golf ball ,, reminds me of many years ago when Spalding introduced the Top-Flite ,,, way before your time Matt ,,

I play the Mizuno ball. I’m still testing to determine if I’m going to play the tour or the tour x. I don’t have the money for the pro v or tp5, so being able to get a ball like Mizuno for $35 USD / doz is great. And even the budget ball level I still go with Mizuno. The RB 566 at $20 USD / doz is a steal. I keep some 566’s on hand for the days when i just can’t strike the ball. Makes losing 3-4 balls in the round a lot easier. ...... any chance of testing the taylormade tour response.

I bought a dozen Oncogene Elixr balls really durable softish feel good all rounder but cannot get hold of them in the UK. It would be good to see how they stand up to your testing.

As a follow up the Oncor ball is a full gramme heavier than the ProV1 and lowers trajectory and stays straighter in crosswinds.

Mr Shiels is watching this and probably wondering. Why did he steal my 10 shots out of a bunker durability test? Great video Mr Fryer, keep up the good work. I have hit a mizuno ball. Decent but not as good as the tp5s and tp5xs. God bless you sir

Hi matt could you have a look at the volvik vimat and see how they compare to a more premium ball as they cost roughly £20 for a dozen

I would love to see all the top balls stacked up against a mid and low cost ball from the same company
