In single player if you don't have a hired hand to bring your bow or plasma cannon, it's such a useless thing to do. Unless, you get extremely lucky and find a needed jetpack in her shop. In multiplayer with random players, if you do this there is a good chance you fuck up the run entirely. Besides, there are always giant frog mouths in Sunken City which most of the time will reveal if there's a Tun shop in the background.
Most of the time I prefer whip in CO anyway so it's mostly for a jetpack (which has actually happened to me before) and also items like paste and climbers which can be very useful and might just be the one thing that gets you to 7-99. I can agree with if your playing with randoms they probably won't understand and might get themselves killed by tun and might exit when there could be a shop so I recommend if you play multiplayer you play with people you know or on the spelunky discord where there are more cooperative players. And with the frogs most of the time I avoid them but yes, I suppose it can be easy to find the shop through the frogs without killing tun. I hope this helped you!

I wouldn't do that tho. I mean most of the time when I get to SC I already have either Scepter or Plasma cannon and a bunch of items so I wouldn't risk a hired hand's death for an extra tun shop.
for example if ur in a multiplayer run and someone dies in like neobab maybe, they wouldnt have anything for co unless u get a lucky crust item or shop item but finding tun shops would increase that chance for maybe a jetpack. (and btw assuming hired hand carries bow and u carry plasma / sceptre, how doesnt the hired hand like 99% of the time kill himself at hudun?)

I carry the bow, hired hand carries scepter/plasma, only at the start of the level. I grab them and drop the scepter/plasma at particular locations depending on the layout and that gives it a decent chance to survive. I bring stuff to CO often in dailies that way. So... Yeah, I'm counting on the hired hand to die, but the scepter/plasma can survive.
Thats not why people kill Tun they just do it for fun. Or at least back when the game first came out they did idk if people actually do this now haven't watched any videos or played recently

If u hang off the ledge near her shop, u can time the stomps which is fairly safe as long as ur timing is good
