Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you champ Yasin
@@Chai_Travel Thank you too. 😄
Glad you both made it. This is the place I was talking about last year. Can touch the clouds up there.
That’s right 🤩 man, it was so nice indeed. A very calm and beautiful area to find yourself in ❤️ thanks
Wow, I was here the same hotel 5 years ago, that was an amazing memory, beautiful view shocked me and the boss of the hotel Mr.Kung, take me to the local Karaoke and even offer me a free dinner one night I back there late and found all restarant on the mountain were closed, I am going back to MaeSalong in coming Feb., even I've booked another hotel up there, I will visit their restaurant again and also visit my old friend
Nice one 🤗 it’s so great how lovely people are in this area. Hopefully you’re able to meet up with Mr Kung again 😃 thanks for watching
This Region is so Beautiful with mountains, Thea plantations and villages… 🙏
Yo Gert! So beautiful indeed. It's so calm to stay in a village a big. Very relaxing. Have a wonderful Sunday mate

Nice vlog guys im so excited for December when i return to Thailand.....
Thanks! I'm excited for you Brian :D December is coming closer! Cheers
Loved this. This was my first activity of the day in the lovely mountains of Western North Carolina, USA. 😊
Wonderful! Haha, you live somewhere beautiful too I believe :D Thanks again mate
Awesome place to visit. Beautiful restaurant there, that food delicious, and the views there and the tea plantation stunning. 1,000 baht a night accommodation there is a bargain. I believe many of those places in the mountain region cost 1,500 to 3,500 baht a night. I'm guessing it is currently still the low season which is excellent for you guys being there now. I adore that Mae Salong village. So serene, totally laid back and I love a good cup of tea too. That art work brilliant. The night market so active and plenty of stalls considering where it is up in the mountains and great being able to find a place for a meal at 10pm. Really enjoyed this video guys. Thanks for sharing and stay champ 🤩
Ey Steven, haha yes! that's about right. The rooms easily cost 2.500 baht. We're just enjoying the low season prices at the moment :) It's so nice in the mountains. Soon we will at the beach though ;P cheers mate
I love tea, especially green or jasmine tea, looks amazing there, thanks for the info, will definitely try to visit in the near future 😊
Hi Roy! Ooo Jasmine is not my cup 😝 I don’t mind a bit of black or green tea though haha. Thanks for watching and I hope you’ll be able to visit soon :)
Seeing Chiang Rai changed so much got me realized how quick time past by... I was there for a month in 2009 doing the volunteer job in Dai Tong elementary school. What a memory.
Haha yeah man. I feel you 😉 time flies when you’re having fun. Thanks for saying hi 👋
@@Chai_Travel Where are you currently my friend? exploring more of Thailand?

The tea plantation is on my wishlist for a long time. Nice one 😊

We love Chiangrai and Mae sa long. Also you must visit Pha Hee, pha Mee
Ey! Thanks for watching :) Nice tip! We have to visit it on our next trip through the mountains :D Cheers!
Back from Phumektawan Resort last week, for us it was better with the view as it was much higher, room is bigger and nicer .and most importantly no bugs and mosquitos compared to others around Mae Salong. Our third trips to Mae Salong this year.
Nice one :D I'm glad you experienced it that way. No bugs indeed and such a nice climate. Thanks for watching
Hey mate. I have to say your videos of south Asian just stoning! Not just covering the travel part but I also appreciate the aspect of local economy and politics.
I also want to pop up a quick question. How do you manage to access signal and internet while you travelling?
All the best!
Thanks mate! That’s so nice to hear :) most of the time there are places with WiFi/ high speed internet. But I always have a back up (Simcard) and I’m able to hotspot my phone. I hope it helps :) cheers!
We have been to Mae Salong 3 times, absolutely love the area, but hotels are very expensive for some reason, that was a shocker, we stayed at Tea Plantation 101, maybe there were cheaper options in the area??
Ey mate :D 3 times?! You must really really love it. Yeah accommodation can be expensive indeed. We found our place via the Agoda App. Maybe check out Agoda or Booking.com next time? :) Thanks for watching
Tea is srilanka
The story about Chinese settlements in northern Thailand (Santikhiri is only one of them) is so dramatic. Most of them are the descendant of Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang), which after defeated by Communist Party, they fled to the northern part of Thailand. Later they allied (more like merc ?) to Thai gov in the campaign against communist army from Laos and Vietnam. After everything have been settled, Thai gov rewarded them by providing 'Thai' nationality to them.
One thing I can probably say is that, after losing their home, their hatred toward commie is second to none. Despite there is no way back to their original home, but they managed to take this chance to fight over their new home, taking some sweet revenge, and killing the ghost of their past...not a bad ending at all, right ?
I’ve read a few things about the history of the first Chinese who arrived here. A fascinating story and I think its a great ending after all 😁 thanks mate 🏆
