The "II" item pickup (along with the "III") allows you to consecutively use throwing items (twice or three times, respectively). Axe, dagger, cross, holy water, maybe some other thing, I don't know. It would make the Death fight much easier. Rise From Your Grave. Never Give Up.

You did quite well considering how stupid hard the reaper level is. The hall before is almost impossible (AVGN broke down the enemy hit zones) without the stopwatch, but if you don't use the cross on the reaper, that boss is almost unbeatable.
Try using a good subweapon, instead of the horrible stopwatch. Like the cross - which is really strong from the time you first get it on the second stage until Dracula. Sure, you called it the worst weapon, but everyone has room to learn.
I actually played and finidhed it not too long ago also first time in my life too. It was kinda okay and fun but i used safe states for the very last bit. Playing Castlevania 3 rn and its a nightmare compared to the first one. Edit: great vid i was in tears 🤣
Imo this game takes a nose dive in quality once you get to the water cavern part. That's when it goes to "fuck you" difficulty. The double knight medusa encounter isn't too bad i think the death boss is way harder. Idk how you're supposed to hit him with a hundred homing scythes in your face

@@Tyrannicon they are lol. Check your own Castlevania 4 video. Right at the start you begin with a small leather whip then you hit a lamp for a chained whip upgrade. Across the bridge you got another one for a longer whip .

I wanted to rage quit watching everytime you traded the boomerang(which you trollingly kept referring to as the crucifix) for the watch. And you kept ignoring the double shot which meant you had no chance of finding the triple shot. This was the most disrespectful game played footage of a classic that I've ever seen...and I couldn't stop watching.
