I just finished rewatching Summoning Salts video on Castlevania and wondered what the record is nowdays. Cool to see that you slaughtered the one on the video :D. Awesome run!
The whole run was incredible, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing at the very end. That Dracula fight was the best I've ever seen. You saved time over a split that included the only scroll glitch that you missed. Any% had already been redefined, but it's set in stone now that anyone who wants this WR will absolutely need to do every scroll glitch.
That reaction is exactly what i want to see from someone pulling off something as insane as this, so many speedrunners hit world record times and just act like they didn't do anything, but that reaction was pure and genuine satisfaction and disbelief. The run was incredible but the reaction makes me want to start speedrunning so i can feel that same way one day. Well done.
I really enjoy watching speed runners dominate these nostalgic and difficult games. Bridging the past to the present with a new challenge, speed running. Great work!!!

As someone who finally beat this game for the first time in my life this week (I'm currently 46 years old, and got the game for Christmas when I was a kid), I can safely say this was one of the most mind-blowing things I've EVER seen. Amazing work!

Just got the Castlevania Anniversary for the Switch and I’ve been playing through all the games, currently on 4 (which in my opinion is the best) and I watched this run to help with some tricks to get through the first one, haven’t played these for YEARS, love my Switch lol Great run and keep up the good work man!!

Thanks! Scroll glitches are newer, and they enable a lot of time save. I missed one at the end, but hit the rest of them. The current 2nd place has all of them. I believe he will beat this run very soon.

I admit, I eas impressed ehen he used the bat ti bypass the mermen part but how the hell did he 1-hit the 1st boss like that?! That was totally unexpected!!! 🎯
He explained during the run that if you hit an enemy on the same frame you hit them, they get no i-frames and you deal damage the entire time your whip is touching their hit box. Pretty amazing to watch.
