I just finished rewatching Summoning Salts video on Castlevania and wondered what the record is nowdays. Cool to see that you slaughtered the one on the video :D. Awesome run!
The whole run was incredible, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing at the very end. That Dracula fight was the best I've ever seen. You saved time over a split that included the only scroll glitch that you missed. Any% had already been redefined, but it's set in stone now that anyone who wants this WR will absolutely need to do every scroll glitch.
That reaction is exactly what i want to see from someone pulling off something as insane as this, so many speedrunners hit world record times and just act like they didn't do anything, but that reaction was pure and genuine satisfaction and disbelief. The run was incredible but the reaction makes me want to start speedrunning so i can feel that same way one day. Well done.

As someone who finally beat this game for the first time in my life this week (I'm currently 46 years old, and got the game for Christmas when I was a kid), I can safely say this was one of the most mind-blowing things I've EVER seen. Amazing work!

The tiniest thing: the US and Japan both used NTSC for the most part, and so the three main video game regions are NTSC-J, NTSC-U(/C), and PAL. So for any fellow pedants, no need to comment again, someone's mentioned it.
How did he get such a massive lead over everyone else? Did some new tricks get discovered or was he able to chain all the existing ones in one run? (Along with general great execution of course)
Am I reading your splits right that you took ten seconds off your PB while getting the WR? That’s an insane jump. And holy shit your Dracula fight and overall gameplay was so insane that you didn’t even need that glitch you missed as a time saver.

Castlevania’s easy once you know what the double and triple shots are and how to spawn them as well as stun locking with the holy water. You can beat Death with all the sub weapons although the dagger you might as well use the whip. My preferred weapon is the axe on him. A thing to note about him is that you can manipulate where the sickles spawn, the location they appear depends on where you are to him and he only spawns them when he lands on a platform.
What glitches pushed this boundary so low? Did you manage to get the majority of them? Very curious as this has become the coolest speed game to me, also want to say you seem to always nail that drac crit, crazy stuff
Thanks! Scroll glitches are newer, and they enable a lot of time save. I missed one at the end, but hit the rest of them. The current 2nd place has all of them. I believe he will beat this run very soon.
