Yes and yes to all your thoughts on dealing with negativity. I loved them all! I have a rule that I delete negative comments if they call me or anyone else a name or are attacking. I don't allow hate on my channel. If they just don't like my work, I just say thanks for watching. 😊 And thanks for my shoutout. LOL ❤️

Kacha, I cant beleive your prices. I assumed you got 800.00 to 1000.00 per peice. Please never let stupid people get you down. I've watched many videos that the youtubers were so bad at their craft. I never ever left a negative comment, just didnt watch them again. Your work is impeccable, tasteful and absolutely gorgeous! To those who say your ruining peices, one its paint and can be stripped and two you are saving peices from going to a landfill. Your dogs are so cute.😊. Enjoy your night.

You are so right and it's such a relief when you realize just that; angry, negative people are their own worst enemies and are simply not worth the energy they try to drain. And when you're happy and content in your own life it's really not that hard to just rise above. Because just like you said: They don't matter.

Kacha I love the passion you put in your work and the way you explain everything.
My story: the last three years I lost me I didn't know who I was after years, many years of being a caregiver.
I came across your TH-cam video's and just watch them over and over. I watch other people videos but the way you presented your passion in each piece I was hooked.
During my life my passion in painting, gardening, crocheting, quilting and even trying to remember how to knit. I lost this passion.
I find myself looking at Mom's desk which is now my sister's or mine. I've decided to paint it just not sure the color or technique.
Kacha people are so negative, I believe they aren't happy or going through something that they want others to feel their pain.
The IKEA furniture is over rated, over priced and made cheap.

I always wonder why people get so offended when someone decides to paint a piece of furniture that they own...antique or otherwise. It’s not like you’re breaking into homes and secretly painting their precious antiques while they’re sleeping!! 😂😂😂😂 I just don’t get it. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I believe you about the negative comments, these days it is hard to be on any social media without getting something negative. There are always people out there so comfortable to unload their crap on a complete stranger from the safety of being behind a screen. You dress nice and look pretty, I don’t wear gloves most times either when painting. The only way to combat negativity is to respond with kindness, it’s the fastest way to combat it. I’m very timid and I applaud you for putting yourself out there, it takes a lot of courage.

Is amazing how all painters have so much in common. When I started painted a little less than a year ago, your videos were the first one I lern from.
I watch other people as well and now I became a little more adventurous.
My pieces are now a little bit more expensive as I go. But I have to be patient.
Once I got a tv stand for sale and I sold it in a day. However, right after a person made a comment that I was lazy and sloppy for not painting inside the furniture and that it was very pricey for my sloppy job.
It affected me a little, but it help me a lot at the same time that it was sold already.
I completely understand you. I also, admire you for taking such a good and positive attitude.

I'm so happy no snow storms in Florida! Thanks for sharing your experiences.....sad that comments hurt artists! We bring beauty and life to pieces that either goes to trash and landfills. So there is a new evolution....naturally fine furniture starts from wood but when its time to renew a piece it is time! Paint and be happy! I heard song from Queen..Bohemian Rhapsody 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 and the lyrics stuck in my head...🎶🎶🎶NOTHING REALLY MATTERS.....yes I kept painting my bohemian style chair! 💖

I didn't know that painting furniture was a "thing" until last year. Started watching simple videos then stumbled on yours - the next level! Thanks for being honest about how you had to practice and learn - that's where my teen daughter and I are at currently, but were encouraged to keep at it. Much of the furniture would end up in a landfill if it weren't for painters, so the puritan furniture folks need to consider how these pieces are often rescued. Keep sharing and teaching - we need the help!

I buy, repair, paint and sell and I agree with what you say 100%. I see many people trying to sell an old cruddy dresser for top dollar and I think “ you must not what to sell that!”

Your furniture is beautiful. Glad you seem to have raised your prices over the years. I’m just getting started in repainting furniture and love getting inspiration from you & the other great furniture artists out there who aren’t afraid to share your tips and advice.
My one bit of advice to you would be to look into SHIPPING your furniture pieces. That way you have a much broader customer base. Some people have vids on doing this as well. Again, I’m just a newbie here but some of the larger pieces I’ve seen you do should absolutely be priced closer to 1k+. Do NOT undersell yourself. You are putting out CUSTOM furniture pieces with incredible artistic work. That takes time....and time is $$$. And oh yeah....the people who want your pieces will pay the shipping cost THEMSELVES. I think you would be surprised how much interest you’d have if you offer shipping. Plus...I get that you were trying to be kind to that “repeat customer” who bought 12(?) pieces of furniture. But there is no need to lower your prices even for them. The benefit she got was HAVING your furniture at a fair price. Don’t mean to lecture you as I’m not an artist myself but I don’t like seen talented artists underpricing their work. Keep the videos coming! Tnx!!! ☺️

Just want to thank you for all your tips and advice to ppl who want to start up a business and how to go about doing so. Your talent is incredible and that’s a gift, remember that! People are mean because they are “damaged goods” and misery loves company, they want to take you down with them, don’t allow this in your life. This might sound silly, imaging in your mind you have a magic eraser and all you have to do is use that as a way of erasing the negative comments. In regard to haters, I get where you are coming from. I am an actress and DJ. It is amazing how you can receive tons of wonderful feedback, but it is the one negative comment that can bring you down. We all want to be appreciated. I wish I could offer some advice, but you are so right. All you can do is say Thank you at the end of the day and avoid spiraling off to the dark side. Kacha I want to thank you for introducing me to such a fun medium to express myself through art. It had never occurred to me to paint furniture and seeing the absolutely gorgeous romantic pieces you do I am painting everything in my home 😂
I am an artist I love to paint to sketch to write, I’m writing a book right now which is really hard work that makes my brain so tired but then I go paint furniture after and it completely relaxes my brain. I love writing but it takes a lot out of me and painting puts it all back in ☺️. After I get all my own pieces painted I think I’ll have plenty of practice and I plan to try selling like you do. I don’t think I’ll go the utube route but I live watching yours and getting inspiration, ideas and such valuable instruction. I love what you do. I think you are so funny and sweet and enjoy your personality as much as your work. There may be haters out there girl but there are also gals like me who really appreciate what you add to my life!!! Yeah I can totally relate Jodie! It's hard at first I think because we are just happy to paint and don't realize how others can be about it. I think a part of it when people close to you do it is because they are a little envious inside of you. Instead of saying that they make fun of you to try and make you feel bad in hopes of steering you off course. Anyhow I also had some of that at first. Now those same people are having a hard time believing I make a living doing what I love! ❤️

Someone who posts ugly comments don’t have a life and have nothing better to do than post negative comments. They are sad, unhappy people. Don’t let them win by making you feel bad. 💕💕 Your do beautiful work! Just ignore people like that.

Many thanks for your podcast and for your videos. Everything I have learned about the chalkpainting I learned from you. You are amazing! Thank you for spending so much time for other people. I know that behind each video is a lot of work and time. I know exactly this feeling by dealing with haters or with the people who just enjoy hurting someone. It is really hard to get over :( I am still struggling do not give them importance, but is hard. I heard not very pretty comments even from some "friends" Like "what a big deal with painting furniture?! I just put some paint there and thats it!" or :you sell them to expensive! So, you are definitely not the only one who is attacked by haters:)
I know Maria, we all have to experience it eventually as artist. I wasn't ready for it at first but I have come a long way and can deal with it just fine now. Part of the process! ❤️

SPOT ON ABOUT THE HATERS! whatever happened to "if you can't say something nice don't say anything AT ALL! Like my mother taught me 🤣. I have seen SOOOO many heartwarming videos where animals are saved,people doing kind things that are above and beyond and YET you will have people give the video a thumbs down???? I don't get it? And it is a waste of time trying to figure it out! Bottom line you are an amazing artist with furniture! I have no doubt that you will be known throughout the world! Like Annie Sloan! obviously you have a gift! and the haters can't handle it. Love your artwork,videos and personality! All a win win!👌👌👌

Thanks Kacha, for sharing your tips on pricing. As for the trolls, those comments can hurt, but it's like pricing we all learn as we go and that someone has to make a bad comment just proves that they still need to work on themselves. In Australia we call this crabs in the bucket. Crabs trying to escape out of a bucket don't care about how many other crabs they have to walk over to get out. Some humans are like this too! They are not focused and happy with where they are going or know how to get out of what is stopping them from moving forward, so they have to try to keep those who are thriving from getting to far ahead of them because they think they'll not be able to catch up. Nasty comments are a bit like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. What they don't understand is that being mean will hurt them more than it can ever hurt us. And yes give them 💙💕💙💕they need it more than most.👩🏻🎨💙🎨💕🐨🇦🇺

You are really a super artist I've learned a lot watching you work. I have no interest in furniture but I have a great room with architectural moldings, railings, 4 french doors, fireplace and a matching bookcase, and grandfather clock that I converted into a cigar humidor. Plan to use what I've learned from you to make the room extraordinary.
