I have a 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi V8. I’m currently averaging 20mpg. Thinking of installing Cold air intake, Headers, and exhaust. Hopeful to get more mileage. Maybe enough to counter a 2” level kit with 33” tires... kind of sold on keeping stock height seeing your truck getting 27mpg. That’s amazing.
Most I got semi loaded on a trip was 27.3 with just a dry flow panel filter. 4x4 Express CC running 89 octane. My secret is keeping in ECO as much as possible. So hypermiling and cruise control as often as I can. Screw people who dont like it Im still doing 5-10 over like normal folks.

At 1 time, my 9 year old 5.7 charger averaged over 28 back and forth to work everyday. And I never use cruise control because the car is still just a joy to drive.
I did pretty much what you did on my stock 2008 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi with mds, keeping it at 55-60 mph and got 27 mpg, which amazed me since normally I am lucky to get 20 mpg driving at 75mph. I attributed this to the lower speed, flat terrain, overdrive and the mds system which likely ran on 4 cylinders for the test period. Until your video I never mentioned it to anyone since I figured no one would believe a hemi could get such good mileage.
Though we like to top off as much as possible when filling up, I would not recommend filling up to the point that you can actually see the fuel in the filler neck. Depending on the vehicles emissions control design, I can cause issues with the emissions charcoal canister from the fuel sloshing into the vapor fumes line. I cant count how many times I've had to replace these for people due to this. just food for thought.
My 2018 ram 5.7 same specs stock will get 26 @60 and 19@75 the only things that should effect mpg positively would be a good tune after a cold air intake and exhaust upgrade. I love my ram though.

And I always run 89 octane and every 4th fill I run 91 to 93 octane. I also clean my fuel injectors every other oil change
You didn't mention the green eco light which indicates that your engine is running on 4 cylinders instead of all 8 cylinders. Accelerate slowly so you can drive GREEN for the best mileage. On my Silverado: K & N cold air induction Flow master cat back exhaust Removed mechanical fan & replaced with flex-a-lite electric fans Not only quicker but increased my MPG
I hypermiled my 2022 5.7 eTorque 4x4 with 3.21 gears a few weeks ago and saw just over 30 MPG. I drove as slow as I could in 8th gear and hold it in high gear on level ground.

I need to do this kind of test on my ecodiesel . Best i got so far was 31mpg on 120mile run driving 75mph. Usually i average 27 on a tank mostly freeway 78mph. My truck configuration 2016 4x4 on 20s with air suspention. Never tough hemi will get this kind mpgs. Our current gas prices $3.50 for reg. $4.00 for diesel.
Thats awesome! I'm glad to hear the ecodiesel is getting the mileage that it should! I was between the HEMI and ecodiesel at first but all the emission systems that are required these days usually cause problems over an extended period of mileage. Plus with all the high hp stuff we are doing now none of this channel would have been possible 🤘
Over several years of doing it every tank but he was doing it once for test purposes, I don't think he needs to trade it in just yet. Topping off's biggest shortcoming is the amount of your time you have wasted doing it. Unless you run your car until its out of gas everytime. Then you might get 10, maybe 15 yards closet or further from the gas station so even that gets mixed results lol
Most every RAM 1500 V8 owner complains their fuel mileage compared to the EPA mileage. But almost every Ram 1500 sold with a V8 is equipped with 3.92 Axle Ratio, rather than the Standard 3.23 Axle which is how the truck is equipped for the EPA Fuel Milage Test. The 3.92 gives the truck a Higher Towing Rating and it can be equipped with a Electric Locker Rear Axle. It also makes for quicker acceleration. The 3.23 Cannot be equipped with the Electric Locker (No reason given) the Towing Rating is lower and it accelerates slower. The 3.23 axle compared to the 3.92 axle results in a Engine RPM Reduction of 22% which equates to lower fuel consumption at any given vehicle speed, less engine wear and less engine noise. So unless you are towing heavy loads, or drag racing, RAM sold you a axle ratio that hurts fuel efficiency, but the EPA Rating looks good for advertising. Personally, I find RAM ‘s method of Ignoring the Intent of EPA rules to be Unethical. No Where in RAM advertising is it mentioned that the Costly Optional 3.92 Axle Ratio WILL Increase Fuel Consumption, making it even more Costly to the Buyer and Harmful to the planet.
BoostedMotorsports it is awesome that you realized that, and went 2WD. So many people down South where I live have have boggers and 4wd on their rigs. They never go off-road, and we never have snow here either. So much better if you don’t need 4wd, to save the money on the initial purchase and fuel economy/maintenance later on.
Nice no doubt these hemi can get great mpg. In my 09 hemi crew 4x4 the highest I've ever got was 24mpg but took a pic of it at 23 or so. That was all stock 20in wheels. But now with all terrains on the 20s dropped to 16 if I am very very gentle with it.
Can't you screw up your gas tanken stuff by overfilling it... I thought there were sensors in there that were supposed to help since oxygen and stuff in stuff and by overfilling the crap out of your gas tank you actually followed those sensors and can screw them up I could be wrong this is what someone told me I don't know if it's true or not
I've done this test and seen a few others kn youtube do it in a ram. I find the dash is almost spot on if all highway. Start mixing city driving, work commutes, etc it starts to lie. I pulled off in my 3.21 ram going 60 mph for 90 miles, 26 mpg from my family's land west of Weatherford all the way back to my home in frisco, tx area. Dash was spot on. Now my work commute and a whole bunch of other random trips to the grocery store, etc says I'm getting 17.5ish. Driving grandpa style this tank in reality got about 1.5-2 mpg less then what the dash was saying. Pretty crazy, I was in the high 15s-16mpg. All highway she's accurate most the time from my experience. I really want to do the fan mod, and the shorty's. I just hate to mess with the grill shutters and I dont want to spend all the money on a tuner to adjust the fan temps and all that. I just added a drop in k&n filter and I can tell that the truck does not feel as bogged down in mds mode as it used to, just from a drop in filter... also about 1-2mpg better on the highway.
Thats awesome Colton! Glad your truck is getting good mileage too it sounds like! I agree its hard to drive it like that but its cool knowing that you can get decent mileage if you need to! 😁
I had a muffler delete 2 weeks ago and my milage went from 18mpg to 12mpg any ideas how to improve milage and not put the muffler back on ? 2014 ram 5.7 hemi. I thought deleting would improve power and milage but it was the opposite. 😬
On my new 2022 Ram 1500 eTorque V6 4x4 - I took it on a back road outside Colorado Springs to Elizabeth Colorado, a hours drive of about 54 miles with speeds from 45 to 55 mph and my fuel consumption rate as per computer was 31 MPG and back in Town got 23 using pump 87 Octane at Valero. I'm sure the 31 MPG is just a fluke and more likelihood of 29+ MPG I am keeping an eye on it Truck has 16,000 miles on it.
This doesn’t seem to far fetched because you were going like 60 or less and were babying it. Wonder what you get on more combined trips. My crew cab, 3.92, 4wd with 34” tires averages 17 MPG unmodified. I gas it here and there and usually am something over the speed limit not wildly over though.
It's simply a tell tale that you are driving economically. If you accelerate really slowly, and use small throttle inputs it will come on. It tends to coincide with MDS kicking in, but it will also come on when you're not in MDS. I hope that makes sense lol
I have a 2017 with 3.21 4x4 with 8000 miles and I drive it easy and mostly highway miles and when I check it at the pump and I have multiple Times the best I have ever got is 21 mpg and I’m always 1 or 2 mpg less then what it shows on the dash
Oddly people with 3.21 gears seem to report worse mileage that the 3.92 trucks. It's supposed to be the other way around but maybe the truck has to work harder to maintain that speed at a lower RPM. My RPM is still relatively low on the highway though with the 3.92 gear
Hey Chad Brown, Your very lucky at 21mpg, I also have a 17 Ram 1500 4x4 with 3:21 gears w/6" lift and 37x20's. I dont even see 15mpg. It has almost 30,000 miles. These new trucks are a joke. I used to have a 94 chevy stepside 350 with a 4" lift and 3" body lift on 35's 3:73 gears and hardly ever had to put gas in. I had a stock 14 Ram with 3:21's and what a difference. Probably 17 to 19 locally and trips a bit over 20. So anyone be prepared for shit mileage if your gonna lift em. I will have to get some videos on here of mine. Lots of $$$ invested.
@@BoostedMotorsports my Brand new 2018 1500 always runs around 2000rpm with the 3.92 at highway speed. This equates to an average of 14l/100km Almost impossible to drive in eco mode compared to my 2014 which got excellent mileage in and around 10l/100km. Any clue what could be making my vehicle run at such high rpm?
I'm with ya.. I'm on here cause I just grabbed one too, with prices going in the direction I'm trying to do everything I can to get every drop out of it 😅
Fact is, drag increases with the square of speed, and drag is what a vehicle as large as the Ram is going to be mostly overcoming. Its very likely you'd get better fuel economy at 40mph. The one thing that's for certain is that all vehicles will do better at 55mph than 65mph.
Damn! My Subaru 4 banger only averaged 26 combined. I could get 31 mpg on the highway if I kept my foot out of it. That's damn good for a truck of any type.
With my 2015 forester I could get almost 40 mpg at 60 mph. With my 2021 ram 1500 5.7 Etorque at the same speed I get about 24. At freeway speeds 75-80 my forester drops down to 22-24 mpg. The ram drops down to 18-20. If you have all the time in the world the forester saves a ton of money on gas. If you are in a hurry the difference isn't so significant.
Awesome. I just picked up an Ecodiesel. Kept going back and forth between that and the 5.7. Excited to see what I get. Its used and has 20" rims and 37" tires. Hoping to get between 23-25mpg with the lift. :)
Get the GDE Green Diesel Engineering ECM programming done, His programming makes it run stronger, cleaner, and more efficient, it is well worth the money, it is no issues like a tuner has.
Which model of k&n cold air is it? I keep seeing conflicting info on a CAI giving better milage, buy I drive enough that it's worth a shot. Im torn between the 77 series and the 63 series. Also thinking a tuner might be a better choice for a first mod.
I'd really like to do the electric fan mod on my 2018 but I want to make sure it doesn't harm the truck in any way. Is it cooling correctly or does the computer need to be tuned for the change in fans? Great channel btw. Keep it up! I'm sure you don't always overfill your tank but I figured it would be a good idea to mention that overfilling your fuel tank can damage your fuel system. You should only fill your tank until the fuel pump clicks off.
Thanks Natalie! I responded to your question on the fan video but you can run the fan without a tuner it will just run slightly hotter in traffic if you don't have the a/c turned on. It won't overheat though
I get about 23-24MPG through west virginia, Ohio/Indiana im around 26-27MPG with MDS on and staying under 70MPH. totally stock other than 185 thermostat
Noticed your tire air pressure was low, at least I believe that is what the trouble light was. Doesn’t that affect mileage as well? Seems like low pressure would result in lower mileage. Idk 🤷♂️
I squeeze 20-22 mpg here in eastern canada and thats usually running 62 mph..I dont tow or nothing with mine ,its an a-b kinda deal and a lil fun now and then..No custom tune but i am useing 91 oct with a trinity can tune...A throttle body upgrade and a muffler thats it for mods..Ill pull the fan off for now and see..
I was getting about 21 MPG in the summer but now that it's -16 f I'm getting around 17. I put in one of those fancy k&n filters also that has less restriction but doesn't seem to help in the winter.
Truck Hemi has had cylinder deactivation since 2004 and was recalibrated in 2006. I believe 2003 was only year without MDS and the HD trucks might have got it later I am not sure about HD.
@wnypaisan27 my 06 5.7 4x4 at the very best got 19mpg over a full tank (when I was babying the crap out of it trying to get the most possible) Usually 17 highway and 11-12 city. Mine also had MDS. My mpg according to the truck was 3 miles per gallon off too...and not to my benefit. Soo, 27mpg, nope.
Wait..you put on smaller tires also? If that's the case, that's why it says you are getting great milage! Your computer is calculating for the bigger tires so the calculations are way off. I knew that something was screwed up. No gas V8 truck has ever gotten that kind of mileage..ever!
When I had my 14 Sport was lucky to get 20 MPG and that was with a 91 octane tune and CAI and Spintech exhaust also drove it like an old man lol. My 17 High Country 6.2L is getting 23 MPG and it's stock other than a ported Katech throttle body and once got 26 MPG crazy.
Nice!!! Yeah its hard to drive like this but its nice to know these trucks can be relatively efficient if they need to be! Thats awesome mileage on that big Chevy engine too! 👍👍👍
BoostedMotorsports Do you know where I could look for a used tuner for my truck? Seen a past video of yours saying you bought used. I feel the same especially with canned tunes not wanting to pay $700 for Livewire
Best method is to fill until pump clicks off and wait 30 seconds and pump until it clicks again and stop. This is the most consistent method of hand calculating your mpg
I used to test a product for MPG on several different brands and models of vehicles. You need more than 50 miles for an accurate calculation. do a full tank before doing the math. You'll also see how the difference in distance effects the calculations. We used a Lab in Ontario California to get official numbers for our product using a dynometer along with high tech equipment using EPA Standards for exhaust and MPG. (What the manufacturers use for their official MPG numbers) But they didn't go as I am saying using a full tank for their numbers (Real Life) but MPG does change using at greater distances compared to short runs because of topographical differences. That's why people rarely get the official MPG numbers put out by the manufacturer. its all LAB controlled test results It might not be that significant but you are a detail oriented person and did notice a difference topping it off across the street so I thought I'd point that out. I don 't even get half of what you showed here but mine is an 07. the biggest fail on that besides the exhaust is the slider window leaking filling up the two bowls under the seat meant for storage. I've been stuck on TH-cam for like 3 hours watching your videos, I agree with everyone else, your very talented in "how to" video production. Thank you
I get about 15 city, 30 highway. All stock except the cold air intake. I'm going to follow your experiment with octane grade. Good idea. Also, I have noticed your tire light is on ... all the time. Can you help me understand what mods caused this? I have been thinking of doing a lift with larger tires but I don't want to do anything that messes with the sensors.
Made a trip from Sacramento to San Francisco and back with my HEMI and got 25.1MPG, it's a 2008 Durango 4X4 with a 5.7L HEMI. Only aftermarket I had installed was a K&N CAI. There wasn't much traffic to SF though lots on the way back. I manually controlled the throttle the whole way and kept it around 60MPH the whole time. One thing that seems to help is Lucas fuel treatment and Upper Cylinder Lubricant.
ben how do you like 08 durango? looking to pick one up? they really can get that good if fuel mileage? that's the only draw back that's keeping me from buying one!
I have a 2019 5.7 hemi 3.92 axle ratio and currently have 295, 70r18 rugged terrain toyos... how much do you think switching to a 275 or 265 highway tire will make an mpg difference. Do you think it's worth it?
Ummmm dont think so. Fill up at same pump, same way you (IE: stop on second pump cut off) drive at least 100 mile loop, go back to the same pump and repeat fill up. Will get an accurate hand calc that way. Unfortunately most tuners screw up the onboard mpg gauge. I think they do it deliberately as if no one hand calcs and would believe the now inaccurate mpg gauge. Superchips may be one of the few that doesnt do this. Its good to see someone doing mpg videos , I always thought MDS was a good idea despite many people disabling it. EFAN and exhaust will definitely improve mpg.
What are your thoughts on a tune? Extra power would be nice, though I'm mainly concerned about MPG's for daily driving. I run Shell 91 V-Power Nitro+ exclusively, I used to use 89 but switched to 91 since Shell advertises their 91 as having better cleaners and additives. Any advantage to a 91 Tune over the stock 89?
I don't think you would see your investment back on a tune for fuel savings to be honest. The difference would be marginal and take a ton of trips to rack up the $400 or so in savings to offset the tuner. Thats just my honest opinion 😎
I have been looking at the E Fans. What type did you install and where did you get it from? I have a 2017 Dodge 2500 with the 5.7, 4” lift with 35” tires so I am trying to improve where I can
You need the V6 fan from a 09-12 model for it to be plug and play on our trucks. I bought a used OEM fan but a lot of people are running aftermarket replica versions for much less money
Really enjoyed the video brother as always I love to see what kind of gas mileage I can get on Long Highway trips my dad kills it in his 6-speed he drives like you did in this video one thing I do is I'll get behind an 18-wheeler and draft it always really helps for some reason or another the tanker trucks help the most
I can get 27mpg in my 2005 Ram 1500, but I have to do like 45 to 50 mph in high gear with MDS on. At 60mph I average 24 mpg. My overall average is usually 19 mpg. Unless I am aggressively driving then I get between 14 and 15 mpg average.

Hmm. I have a 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 Etorque. Did a 1500 mile trip 65-75 mph with some passing and got about 21 avg.
If I slow down to 55-60 I'm getting closer to 24.
I see guys with the 3.21 gear ratio get an extra 3-4 mpg.
On my Silverado:
K & N cold air induction
Flow master cat back exhaust
Removed mechanical fan & replaced with flex-a-lite electric fans
Not only quicker but increased my MPG
Nice!!! Glad to see you had similar results too with the mechanical fan delete! 👍👍👍
how many more mpg are you getting from those mods?
Jack Smith .are you putting high octane fuel (93
I hypermiled my 2022 5.7 eTorque 4x4 with 3.21 gears a few weeks ago and saw just over 30 MPG. I drove as slow as I could in 8th gear and hold it in high gear on level ground.
I Own a 2012 F-150 Lariet FX4 6.2 Ford Powered V8!
6.5 bed!
3:73 gear ratio!

3 inch Exhaust system!
Super 44 flowmaster!
resonator delete!
5 inch exhaust tip!
Max towing 11,300 pounds! I get 12 city. Love my engine
Have a 2017 RT getting 18.5 City driving with 392 gears 285 / 50/ 20s on regular gas. Sweet Thunder Exhaust K&N cold air intake catch can only modifications. 9000 miles on truck with synthetic oil. Drive with a heavy foot love the sound and performance. 😁
Its hard not to mash the skinny pedal! 😎
Ditching that belt driven fan most likely netted you the biggest gain.
Not to rain on your parade but leaving gas in the neck is damaging the fuel system 🤷♂️
37 MPG!! Haha. 27 is great. I’m lucky to get 20.
Yeah I wasn't going to try and claim I got 37 but that was weird with the tank burping lol
4:14 ... PERFECT song syncing there with the speedometer lol
Dude you were right down the road from me in Ennis 😄😄 I thought it looked like Texas 😎😎
🤣I'm everywhere! 110k miles and counting!
speeding ticket central lol
2 wheel drive makes a big difference I need my 4x4 ram in mud where I live in the country town
Yeah I don't blame ya! When I was living up north 4x4 was a MUST! No use for it where I live currently though
Yeah tires make a huge difference for sure!!!
I average a solid 17.5 or so. Mines still being broken in though... And it's 4x4 with a higher factory ride height (according to the build sheet).
I averaged 23.4 MPG driving 1100 miles with my 2014 1500 6 speed. I could’ve done better but I got tired of driving like a grandpa 😁
Hell yeah! 😎
So funny. I don't have that problem
What fuel type do you use? I drive the 8 speed and avg around 9 to 11. Foura days out of the week I drive like a grandpa to get the mpg back up.
I had a muffler delete 2 weeks ago and my milage went from 18mpg to 12mpg any ideas how to improve milage and not put the muffler back on ? 2014 ram 5.7 hemi. I thought deleting would improve power and milage but it was the opposite. 😬
I've been able to get around 19-20 MPG on the highway going 60-65 and not pushing the truck at all. It's when you go 80MPH where your MPG decrease.
I'm sure the 31 MPG is just a fluke and more likelihood of 29+ MPG
I am keeping an eye on it
Truck has 16,000 miles on it.
I see “Eco” down there. Is that the same thing as MDS on our motors?
I have a S&B cold air intake, A race muffler with resonator deletes to with an 8spd.
Any clue what could be making my vehicle run at such high rpm?
just bought a 1500. This is gonna be great for $7/gal coming up :D Gonna try and see what i can do to get 27 too
I'm with ya.. I'm on here cause I just grabbed one too, with prices going in the direction I'm trying to do everything I can to get every drop out of it 😅
All vehicles are designed to get best gas mileage at 55 mph.
Fact is, drag increases with the square of speed, and drag is what a vehicle as large as the Ram is going to be mostly overcoming. Its very likely you'd get better fuel economy at 40mph. The one thing that's for certain is that all vehicles will do better at 55mph than 65mph.
My completely stock 2016 hemi gets 13 on highway going 65 with cruise. I can never get good mileage out of it. Thinking about selling
Damn! My Subaru 4 banger only averaged 26 combined. I could get 31 mpg on the highway if I kept my foot out of it. That's damn good for a truck of any type.
Yeah I'm not complaining! Supercharger is going on now though so gas mileage will be history lol
Awesome let us know how it goes Glenn!
I get 40mpg on my eco diesel 2021 with 4.88 gears on 38x14.50R26x14 8inch lift tune
How are you liking that truck far? I’m thinking of getting one just want to see if the prices drop with all this nonsense going on
You guys are lucky as hell to even get 20. Hell, I'm lucky to get 14-15. Bad idea lifting these girls.
I hear ya brother! I did the same thing to my 09 and it was brutal on gas! 8" lift and 35s
lol same here =[
I'd really like to do the electric fan mod on my 2018 but I want to make sure it doesn't harm the truck in any way.
Good too knw!
I get about 23-24MPG through west virginia, Ohio/Indiana im around 26-27MPG with MDS on and staying under 70MPH. totally stock other than 185 thermostat
That engine temp is hot!!
My 2015 ram avg 13mpg no matter what, driven it four years now. Noone has a solution. 80k miles on it. I'm looking for help
Yo Buddy - what state are you in again? Crushing it with this channel, keep it up
Thanks brother! I'm all over but currently in CA 😁
I get 10.4. in my 05 1500. I envy this so much..
Noticed your tire air pressure was low, at least I believe that is what the trouble light was. Doesn’t that affect mileage as well? Seems like low pressure would result in lower mileage. Idk 🤷♂️
Use to drove semis and
Some had this type of thing on them and I could get 90 mpg going down hill
Anyone know if that gauge cluster is compatible with a 2014 Express?
I get 7.5 in town and 11 highway, 97 chevy silverado 5.7 V8 true dual catless exhaust strait pipe
Nice truck! BTW 👍👍
Can't complain with that mileage at all! 👍👍👍👍
I was getting about 21 MPG in the summer but now that it's -16 f I'm getting around 17. I put in one of those fancy k&n filters also that has less restriction but doesn't seem to help in the winter.
Can you comment a list of things that are installed?
Layer tell me how many miles you can run with a full tank and drive like normal people no like old man because my truck with full tank make 320 miles
Wait, don't those new Hemis go down to 4 cylinders on the highway? You will never see that kind of mileage on the older Hemi's.
Yes sir! They do!
Multi displacement and a 8 speed. That's why I bought one.
Good work!
BoostedMotorsports Do you know anything about Livewire tuners? There pricey
BoostedMotorsports Do you know where I could look for a used tuner for my truck? Seen a past video of yours saying you bought used. I feel the same especially with canned tunes not wanting to pay $700 for Livewire
DiabloSport is an inexpensive option that most people use. I had some issues using it but a lot of people are running that tuner
Find that hard to believe about the 6.2 believe your fudgeing that a little had 6.0 lucky to get 10
Goes to show ya, how you drive has a huge impact on mileage.
Got a '16 1500 4x4 with 5.7 a year ago and can easily get 20+ daily if not idling to warm in W. NY winter.
Please don't overfill your tank, folks, it messes with the emissions equipment, which is expensive to fix.
Just go til it clicks.
Thank you! I can't believe he was saying "I'll just try to squeeze another dollar in there!" -_-
Best method is to fill until pump clicks off and wait 30 seconds and pump until it clicks again and stop.
That's why people rarely get the official MPG numbers put out by the manufacturer. its all LAB controlled test results
It might not be that significant but you are a detail oriented person and did notice a difference topping it off across the street so I thought I'd point that out.
Thank you
That truck is a unicorn, if fiat realizes that truck was sold to the public they’ll come knocking. ✌️
I get about 15 city, 30 highway. All stock except the cold air intake. I'm going to follow your experiment with octane grade. Good idea. Also, I have noticed your tire light is on ... all the time. Can you help me understand what mods caused this? I have been thinking of doing a lift with larger tires but I don't want to do anything that messes with the sensors.
that’s MDS for ya. engine still runnin good?
Made a trip from Sacramento to San Francisco and back with my HEMI and got 25.1MPG, it's a 2008 Durango 4X4 with a 5.7L HEMI. Only aftermarket I had installed was a K&N CAI. There wasn't much traffic to SF though lots on the way back. I manually controlled the throttle the whole way and kept it around 60MPH the whole time.
One thing that seems to help is Lucas fuel treatment and Upper Cylinder Lubricant.
Thats some awesome mileage on that 08!!!! 👍👍👍
ben how do you like 08 durango? looking to pick one up? they really can get that good if fuel mileage? that's the only draw back that's keeping me from buying one!
Not terrible on gas i haven't done the calculation on my 08 aspen. They're basically identical motor wise.
I have a 2019 5.7 hemi 3.92 axle ratio and currently have 295, 70r18 rugged terrain toyos... how much do you think switching to a 275 or 265 highway tire will make an mpg difference. Do you think it's worth it?
I’ve got a 2014 ram 1500 5.7l 4x4 with a 4 inch lift and on 35’s plus loaded with tools and I get 12-13mpg
Very impressive. :)
Over fills can damage your fuel filters! Don't do it!
I'm at 10.5 mpg right now. Seeing this is crazy. 2010 Ram 2500. Is there anything I can do to improve it?
I have been looking at the E Fans. What type did you install and where did you get it from? I have a 2017 Dodge 2500 with the 5.7, 4” lift with 35” tires so I am trying to improve where I can
You need the V6 fan from a 09-12 model for it to be plug and play on our trucks. I bought a used OEM fan but a lot of people are running aftermarket replica versions for much less money
BoostedMotorsports Is that something I have to get from a pull apart or can order that on amazon? If so why brand are you thinking?
Really enjoyed the video brother as always I love to see what kind of gas mileage I can get on Long Highway trips my dad kills it in his 6-speed he drives like you did in this video one thing I do is I'll get behind an 18-wheeler and draft it always really helps for some reason or another the tanker trucks help the most
Yeah it was pretty boring and difficult to drive like this but this proves it can be done! LOL 😎
Look out for blow outs from semis or gators on the road when you're following them
I’m getting 30-32mpg@65 cruise with a ‘18 ram 1500 reg cab sb. 2wd, 5.7, 6 speed .3.92.....
Did you reset the average going down hill? I get 99mpg gallon going down hill.
I got the same mods and only get 14.2 miles to the gallon on a 15 bighorn quad cab. How ya get so much more?
I can get 27mpg in my 2005 Ram 1500, but I have to do like 45 to 50 mph in high gear with MDS on. At 60mph I average 24 mpg. My overall average is usually 19 mpg. Unless I am aggressively driving then I get between 14 and 15 mpg average.
Is your truck leveled or lifted. I have a 2” level kit in the 2012 and I have dropped 3 mpg. I’m thinking about doing headers to increase my mpg.
my little frontier gets 18 for a full sized truck 25mpg average is amazing !
27mpg highway should be the title
I put new exhaust system eliminated muffler. I got 27.1 doing average 60 - 65. Was on flat terrian for most part with a tail wind. Getting 18.3 in town
Which exhaust?
I get 13 mpg right now the cold air intake alone will make that 20?
I'm getting around 16mpg daily commute, half of the trip is at freeway speeds. I took a 2400 mile trip and got around 21 mpg (all freeway).
It was interesting to see.
Curious what you were getting before all the changes in such a flat area. Did you really improve that much?
This engine has cylinder deactivation tech.. whenever you see the green "ECO" in the lower left corner, it running in 4cyl mode .. won't see this on pre 2009 Hemi's
