HIGH STAKES | How The U.S. Accidentally Legalized Weed

- The 2018 Farm Bill was promoted as a patriotic way to help the American farmer. What it actually did was nationally legalize dangerous synthetic marijuana. You may not know it, but highly intoxicating pot is available everywhere, especially in the reddest of red states. Worst of all, there are almost no safeguards in place to keep it out of the hands of minors.
In High Stakes, documentarian Rob Rosen shines a light on this under reported crisis. You’ll also see how the politicians who made this possible, are the very same ones who constantly rail against drugs. How could this happen? Take 40-minutes to watch High Stakes.
It will make you angry. It will open your eyes. And it might even help you save a life.
wow! why how we don't talk about alcohol this way really makes you think... ;)
@@coooccat8196 what really makes me think where the alcohol thing is concerned, is that, the price of basic necessities for everyday life such as food, clothing, and medicines, have gone through the roof, while alcohol and cigarettes, things known to end lives have remained low, and have stayed stable. What a world, we now live in. This is both an incredibly exciting, and also difficult, and at times frightening era to be alive in. We're living things now, that were considered incredible, and futuristic. Only 40 years ago, when I was a kid. Even with all the turmoil of the current era, I'm excited to see what the remaining portion of my life will bring...

Thank you!! Let's discuss alcohol! I'm tired of tripping over piles of beer in the grocery store, stacked on the floor, at eye level of kids walking around!
Do your personal research on said topic. Astonishing how CBD strain helped a wisely mother's disadvantage with knowledge about THC vs. CBD! 3 yr old Charlotte was name. Then came the CBD strain called Charlotte's Web, 95% relief from chronic epileptic seizures. Riveting study. This s well. 😊
25:40 - what they're describing here, sounds like SPIC3 to me to a TEE... SPICE, is also " REFER "ed to as " synthetic cannabinoids ". I'm smoking a delta 8 pen right now, and it's nothing like what these parents are saying happened to their kid. I've smoked spice. I used to purposely not repeat and avoid any varieties that made me feel near to what they're describing. I had a few panicky episodes, but never a hospital trip. I have, however, known a few people that ended up in a coma behind smoking spice. Particularly the really high potency ones. 35x scarface was one that I recall, definitely brought on hallucinations and had dissociative effects, and in several cases, was responsible for put people in a coma. I knew one guy who ended up in a coma for like three weeks, and it was touch and go, the whole time. They couldn't be sure he was going ever wake up again, till he finally did. I wouldn't say delta-8 is in the same category, in my opinion...
They make DMT and mushroom, Vapes now sounded more like a bad trip from one of those
@JamesHeater-en3qd could be. I don't know. Though i wouldn't think either of those would leave permanent after effects. I don't know if you caught that part. They said their son has been permanently affected, or at least is still dealing with after effects. Mushies and dmt don't leave you permanently messed up, as far as I know of. Spice and bath salts, are both heap'em bad juju. You never really know what's in that shit.... causing comas and a host of other problem
isomerization, One can simply take battery acid , baking soda & convert CBD to THC just like Roger Adams did in the 30's , hence THC Today is still rated on the Adams scale
Excellent coverage. Thank you.
Just legalize the shit and leave people alone
@@ianhall622 I’m unutterably confused by this calamity. Legalization came, unfortunately, hindsight is always 20/20! Redacted attendees circumvented their constitutional duty explicitly expressed expeditionary rights. Did they really know that HEMP, accompanied by a mad scientist lol and there you have yourself delta 9 quality’s ( pharmacologically speaking) rights as CANNABIS. They have set boundaries evermore daunting, CONFORMITY at its finest!
I think you misspelled; DECRIMINALIZATION
Qui vult decipi decipiatur
I'm glad I live in Canada we can grow 4 plants at home dealing with man-made chemicals it's just asking for trouble
True ❤
That's very good information. Thank you for caring to tell the truth.
The cannabinoids are not truly synthetic. ALMOST every cannabinoid on the market occurs naturally in a marijuana plant, albeit at tiny amounts, the exception to this was Thc-O, which was synthetic.
While it is true they convert cbd to these other compounds, this does not make them "synthetic ", it makes them semi-synthetic since it already occurs in the plant, we are just taking an extra step to get there.
Maybe the 16-year-old should spend more time paying attention in like English class. 😂😂😂😂😂
loved this! 🎉💚🚀
Me too
2:53 "Could be really really harmful"... vs
IS TOXIC TO FAMILIES AND SOCIETY
-Alcohol
Total Wine and ABC are selling D8 seltzers now too. 😹
The main problem is newbies should not be vaping anything, your more likely to get waaaay too high, smoke actual weed.
Secondly you dont know wtf is in a vape pen, or if the secondary ingredients are causing problems..
People are trying to be too health cautious and think vapes and edibles are safer, at least with weed you can inspect it and smell it.
Vapes and dabs are like giving a first time drinker a big drink of high proof moonshine
And everyone has a different body chemistry. Some people have reactions to different things in different ways.
No matter what it is they consume, they can have the same reactions as they are talking about with cannabis and hemp
@@TimothyjTripp yeah. All except the whole coma part.
@@TimothyjTripp never heard of any WEED smokers ending up in a coma from use, where i have personally known people who've been in a coma from " synthetic cannabis "...
Lol I've been smoking cannabis for 31 years n 😅😂my health is 100% its a pain reliever
Nice one! Beware of overparenting
The presentation of state-regulated cannabis as safe is misleading. People have also died from pot bought at state-regulated stores (two people died from THC vapes bought in Oregon stores, and a guy with cancer died from getting a fungus on medical marijuana from California), and as well as illegal stores in states that legalized pot but can't stop illegal sellers.
Delta-8 THC is most like Delta-9 THC. Cannabis can't be regulated the same way alcohol is regulated because cannabis is so unstable and so different from alcohol. Delta-9 THC sellers also have a lot problems with mold, banned pesticides, fungus and states have a hard time with regulation. The answer is NOT to legalize nationally.
1:28 they combined Illinois with Indiana lmao and Indiana is a huge "no" state for weed haha
saying dangerous synthetic marijuana is really misleading. the stuff is semi-synthetic, not fully synthetic which is a huge difference, and very weak in comparison to regular cannabis thc products. it's really not a big deal, the worst that can happen with a delta 8 vaporizer, is the manufacturer could be careless about how clean their product is and it have harmful chemicals not having anything to do with the actual semi-synthetic thc effects. there are countless of reliable delta 8 brands that do a good job of delivering a product that is virtually benign, i only say virtually because who knows how stoned someone can get and it be similiar to them being intoxicated off alcohol. In general this stuff is way safer than alcohol use.
It is safer than alcohol but that shouldnt mean it isnt subject to quality control, testing or regs .
And its ridiculous that the industry and state funded projects are handicapped because any revenue is deligitamised. It almost as bad as having black market economics.
@@bobjary9382 yeah, i'm not saying the situation is perfect or anything close, all i am stating is that delta 8 itself doesn't deserve to be demonized. just like anything that gets commercialized there can be problems regarding integrity and transparency.
True
8:23 a bunch of ignorance!!! describe how they were creating ^9THC please... if you wanna sound smart.
BTW Mitch McConnell is of the same class of ignorance, and I appreciate him!
Wow
If it’s made in a lab it IS NOT the same thing that guy is seriously what’s wrong in this world
