As a nurse from all school, and as a mom. I have a lot of questions. Your are a Blessing Parents with a Beautiful girl. Thank you for sharing your experience 🎉💝💐🍼🙏
I’m in Australia. My son had prenatal hydrocephalus, I was given the worst case scenario as well. An Absolutely devastating diagnosis. You couldn’t see his brain on the sonogram, his skull was full of Cerebral Spinal Fluid. He had his first shunt inserted at 7 days. His head was HUGE, he had sunset eyes just like your little girl. He is now 29, he was sick for quite a few years but he made it. He has Cervical Spina Bifida (he’s in a wheelchair) Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Hydrocephalus and is globally delayed but he is amazing! You can have a normal conversation with him, he has a job, friends and is living life! I’m so sorry they left your little girl without a shunt for so long. Her headaches must have been horrific!

This gives me hope for my mother who's battling cancer and my son who's battling drug addiction. I will continue to pray no matter what. God bless your family!!!
I love the way Fletcher looks at you. She looks at you and says, "thank you mommy and daddy, for fighting to help me get better and never giving up hope, so I can stay with you for however long God wants me to." With you as her parents, she'll always know love and security. Prayers for you all, your families and your community.
My little girl has hydrocephalus and many other serious diagnosis. Our story has a lot of similarities to yours and i wanted to tell you that my girl is 13 now and shes a feisty girl too!! I still cry sometimes when i look back at everything and she says "its ok mum, i dont remember it and im ok" Sending lots of love from our family to yours. Shes absolutely beautiful ❤
A lot of people died and it isn’t because they didn’t pray. Would God not have been wonderful if you died? I don’t understand why some people believe god answered their prayers but not for others. This family used prayer to make it through any outcome and they did.
@@Sue-hippielove who made God a “he”. It was doctor, a group of scientists, and access to modern healthcare that killed your cancer. Without it you’d be dead. Can you give some credit to the people who spent their entire lives in school to cure your cancer? The Republican Christians who disrespected Dr Fauci were disgusting and despicable. If it weren’t for the infectious disease doctors who spent their whole life’s studying, we would not have safe drinking water, antibiotics, vaccines, medical care, and safe food handling etc. we’d be dying in plagues and epidemics. Those who refused the vax were so self righteous and arrogant when the only reason they could do that is because the rest of us submitted to a solution. The God thing is personal and those preaching that “He” cured their cancer give no credit to science and the dedicated hardworking people who work for years and years to learn & serve you.

I cried through this whole video. Praise God!!!!! I'm so proud of everyone involved, especially little Fletcher, and her parents, and her doctor, and Saint Jude and staff, and their family and neighbors, and everyone!!!! This is proof positive of God and His healing power, and the power of prayer. I'm sitting here in my room at 4 am, just bawling. Scared tears, happy tears, tears of faith and love! Kisses and healing love to Fletcher and her parents! And unending love and faith to God!🕊
This gave me the chills and brought tears to my eyes my 8 yr old was born with a rare tumor and it ended up containing malignancy I didn’t even know it was possible to have a child born with cancer and no one can understand the ptsd that occurs but God gives you the strength you need to push through we didn’t know if he’d survive or walk but he made it through an 8hr surgery and survived! He has life long complications but he made it! You have a beautiful family!
@jasiablessing what a dumb response. It's easier to understand diseases being passed from mother to child. Wrapping your head around a baby being born with cancer is shocking and crazy to fathom.
What an amazing family... I am touched by your story and your strength. My nephew was a premie. He aquired hydrocephalus due to a brain bleed caused by a ventilator. He is now 40, and had 3 shunts. All I can come up with is that the doctors initially felt as if they would lose her during surgery. It was always a very long surgery for my nephew. God is good. He truly carries us when we can't help ourselves.
🙏🙏❤ as a nurse I'm not sure how I feel about the doctors missing the tumor in first MRI and saying there's no healthy brain......BUT God does answer prayers!!!
I’m a retired nurse. I did home care for babies like this and ones on ventilators at home. I totally understand how you feel. They just looked at her and wrote her off. I had one little patient with trisomy 18. The parents were told they could take her home to die if that’s what they wanted. They added, you really don’t need to feed or do any other care, she will only last for a day or two at most. That little girl last I took care of her was 3yrs old and doing pretty good. The mother of course did not listen to the doctors and fed her baby. They also left the state within a couple of weeks to be closer to a decent children’s hospital, Riley in Indianapolis. Then I had a baby boy with HPE. Boys usually don’t make it to birth and if they do they usually only last for a day or two. When we brought this baby home, it had every ostomy there is, a trach, NG-tube then G-tube, colostomy, super pubic opening….. he had diabetes insipidus for sodium instead of Mellitus with glucose. But this child lived for 5yrs. The mother started HOPE for children with HPE. It has always amazed and angered me at just how cold some doctors can be. I do not understand how they didn’t see any issues during an ultrasound. Ultrasounds have become the norm with every pregnancy now. They should have seen the enlarged head at the usual 7month ultrasound. Plus they should have been able to see the baby’s brain too. I learned early on that if a doctor puts a time limit on a persons life, find another doctor. Every once in a while you will find a doctor/surgeon that doesn’t think they are God. A rare find, but they do exist.
If a loving god exists why would he be so cruel as to wait to answer prayers instead of preventing the problem in the first place? Put everyone through such torture, misery and heartache? Back when I still believed we prayed so hard for our son... and it did nothing, as for most of the pain and suffering in the world. People give praise to god when they perceive something positive, but ignore the negligence that allowed it to happen in the first place? If my earthly father acted like that I would have disowned him. It's all just random chance... we created god in our image to help make sense of the chaos and give us some sense of comfort, control and hope. It didn't help one iota in the end.
@@CharGC123 I'm sorry for the loss of your son. People often blame God and question why? How could he? While God is our heavenly father who sent his son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins so that we may have eternal life, he also gave mankind free will. God does answer prayers but the answer may not be what we were praying for. Everything going on in this world is because of mankind. Mankind's hate. Greed. Desires that are evil. And Satan reigns in them. It is easy to blame God, who is all powerful. Why? How could you? Etc. But God is returning one day. Sooner than we think. We need to be ready if we want to spend eternity in Heaven. Believe it? Isn't it better to believe in something that's full of hope, security, etc, than believing in nothing? I say I have nothing in life to loose by believing in God and accepting Jesus as personal Lord and Savior. I loose nothing if at the end of my life I were to find out He doesn't exist. But if I don't believe, and at the end of my life I learn He does exists, I loose everything. You have to believe in something or you will fall for anything.
What do you mean, you’re not sure how you feel? You can’t possibly think any way except that to recognize that the doc(s) at John’s Hopkins did not give her optimal care. They didn’t get on the phone, to see what studies were underway that she could benefit from, and as another person here wrote, they just wrote her off. We’ve got two doctors and a nurse practitioner in our family but too many times I’ve seen situations where doctors just phone it in. The patient finds themselves having to push for new treatments as they deal with chronic cases with few or no treatments, or they to remind their doctor why the doc’s proposed treatment won’t work for them, based on prior experience. I don’t know how we got to this place but I find it unacceptable.
I saw that you were at LeBonheur Children's Hospital for surgery, which partners with St. Jude. LeBonheur has a nationally recognized neurosurgical program. I am a nurse at LeBonheur and I am so glad that everything worked out so well for you and your beautiful baby girl! I will keep you in my prayers for continued progress. St. Jude and LeBonheur work well as a team and have some of the best physicians and nurses in the country.
So relieved this baby survived so thankful God gave her life and he knew her when she was in moms womb He had a promise and a plan 4 her life!! Love this story !! So happy the parents r relying on God!!
As a long time donor of St. Jude, this brought me such joy to know how you were helped by them. May Fletcher continue to grow and thrive. Thank you so much for sharing!
The pink bows throughout your community are so beautiful. Not just the color but how incredibly loving everyone is. Your little sweetheart is such a doll. What a beautiful blessing for amazing parents. I hope and pray that she is happy and content for her entire life. Your strength and faith is so inspiring.🎀
A young man that I grew up around was born with hydrocephalus doctors gave him only a few years to live. He is in his early 30s. He has never walked but he is healthy. Happy and lived his life To the fullest. He has been a true miracle.
I truly believe in St Jude and I am happy to donate on a monthly basis hoping to see miracles like Fletcher Layne. Thank you sharing. God bless you and your child. Keep believing!
Beautiful story thank you for sharing. My daughter passed away from cancer and my life, my heart, my soul misses her everyday. My angel is still teaching me lessons about love and letting go. Her dad and I have gotten closer to God and stronger in our marriage too. He is my rock during my darkest days. May you both share wonderful times and God does answer prayers.
I think its just awful that the doctors did not put a shunt in right away to remove the fluid from this poor baby's head. The baby had unneeded suffering. Even if the baby has cancer, you can still limit the suffering. Poor angel. Bless this baby.
If this is not seen as a miracle, there are none! 💜 Prayers for God to continue healing your precious little Fletcher! 🙏 What a beautiful, strong warrior she is. 💖 And what amazing, faithful parents she has! ❤
I don’t know how I came across this video but it is exactly what I needed to see! You’re family is so beautiful! It’s so nice to see Fletcher thriving. I am 37 years old, and a first time single mom of a 7 month old. I bawled my eyes out while watching your story and holding my baby and thanking god. God definitely works miracles! Never lose faith. Fletcher is so lucky to have you both as her parents! 🫶🏼
The story emphasizes the Truth that you really can’t put all your trust in the “professional’s”. Never underestimate a mother and father’s intuition and the POWER of God to heal, be sovereign and use ALL things for GOOD! May the Lord bless and keep this little lamb of His!
Hello. I am 46 and born with Hydrocephalus and had brain surgery at 3 days old. At that time my parents were told that the oldest person in Canada was 12. So yes miracles do happen. I’m not going to go through my whole experience. Had 3 revisions of my shunt but was diagnosed with epilepsy at 5. Now I am married (no kids) by choice. Thanks to early therapy. I can walk and talk. Slight balance issues. Now that ct scans are so advanced the we discovered the cause for my hydro was. Auqaductle stenosis 6 years ago Life is good. Feel free to reach out.
God has certainly Blessed you with this little beautiful miracle!! I was so happy to hear that St Jude’s came into her journey. They are amazing and so is Fletcher!!
To think two hospitals and doctors just gave up on this precious gift from God. I am so glad your trust was in God and thank God for St. Jude’s. I have supported them even when I was a young mother that had little money. Thank God and thank St. Judes
I agree with another person’s comment. She needed a shunt. That would have made her more comfortable and possibly help with her future. It’s just nuts they didn’t do the shunt in uteri or immediately afterwards. She’s a beautiful baby and I am so glad you have such a wonderful support system. Your faithfulness is what helps with your up and downs. St Jude’s is a blessing to so many children and their families and I’m so glad they were able to help.
I agree. I'm extremely thankful for St Jude and all that they've done for this baby but I also agree that she could have had a shunt right away and probably saved a lot of Heartache later on. I can't imagine that they didn't pick up on that during the ultrasound.
Continued blessings for Fletcher Layne and for you, Stevee and Billy. May your faith, family, and friends support you as you give witness of God's love through the miracle of this beautiful child.
I haven’t even gotten through the entire video and just burst into tears. God is so good!!! Praise His name!! Bless baby Fletcher, her amazing parents and supporters, God heard your prayers and made miracles happen. Baby Fletcher I have you on my heart beautiful girl, that you will do amazing things in this life!! God bless this family, truly wonderful story. ❤️🙏🥹
Thank you for sharing your family’s story about how your precious little Fletcher Layne is triumphing over all of the odds that were first given to her. Hers is a story of hope, love, patience, and perseverance. She is an AMAZING baby girl and God has done miracles that were not thought possible, by human hands. I will continue to pray for this sweet baby girl, and her family. God bless all of you! Keep gaining your strength from HIM…He IS able!
Your story just popped up on my channel, I sat and cried, as my nephew who's 17 has just been diagnosed with a tumor in between his heart and lung. As a Christian the first thing I did was pray as there is so much power in prayer. Your little girl is absolutely beautiful and I hope she's doing well. I know it was God's way of telling me my nephew is going to be okay and he's got him. I pray God continues to keep his healing hands on Fletcher. God bless you and your family.🙏🩷🙏
What a beautiful little doll baby! Such a miracle in progress! Thank you, Lord, for Your mercy & grace on this precious family! Continued prayers as God leads you on this journey. Blessings!❤️🕊❤️🕊
So happy too hear your story was a great answer to prayer. My grandson had the same but didnt have the same outcome. He past away on march 17, 2023 he was 18months. its very hard to deal with but i know he will see him oneday.
Children are the greatest gift, and when they come into the world with heartbreaking conditions they teach us to value life and to love so much more deeply. What a beautiful blessing and little miracle Fletcher is! May each little smile and milestone bring you strength and joy!
I'm curious as to why this wasn't discovered in ultasound. With my babies, their heads were always measured during ultrasounds. Sweet baby Fletcher...she IS a miracle.
@@JessicaDaBestica the thing is, it’s VERY obvious from the ultrasound picture that was shared, that something wasn’t right. I was utterly shocked seeing that, and then hearing her mother say they were completely shocked when Fletcher was born.
God is so good! He’s such a good good father! Praise His previous name I’m believing with you for this precious life Fletcher is a name very dear to my heart ❤️
Glory hallelujah to the precious lamb of God !! Bless him with all my heart for sweet healing mercies , he's still on hos thrown and working miracles everyday ! I am so thankful he he is healing your beautiful baby girl !! 🙌🙌 please keep us updated
Awww... Little Fletcher is so stinking CUTE!!! You both are such strong parents. I wish the best for your beautiful little family ♥️ ❤️❤️ And I truly love St. Jude !!! So happy that they are helping you!
Sadly you can't catch everything during a ultrasound, my son was born sick 26 years ago and they found things not right after birth Bless Fletcher beautiful little girl❤
@@EIREBABE one of my twins was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 6 mos of age. What was interesting was I went for an amnio to check for lung maturity so I could get induced. His results came back questionable. When they retested the sample they said his lungs weren't mature. At 37 weeks my water broke and when I delivered him he came out screaming. Fast forward 6 mos and it was a nephrologist that brought in a pediatric pulmonologist and I explained what was going on with him. Having been in nursing school I had read about cf but thought well we're black we don't have to worry about that. Boy was I wrong 🤦🏽♀️
This is why it's so important to advocate for your kid's and if you feel something isn't right, get a second opinion. Get a third if you have to. I can't believe the first doctor's didn't even try a shunt. Thank goodness for St.Jude. Fletcher is so lucky she has you 2 as her parents ❤.
Yes ! She is the light and she has shown people the lord is mighty just like her ! God bless you guys ! I have a son with microcephaly and was told he wouldn’t walk or talk.. BUT he is walking and talking. She is a beautiful miracle and I will be praying ❤❤❤❤❤

Praise Jesus for the healing thus far. Thank you as parents for your faith. Thank you for believing. Fletcher is precious, and precious in His site. St.Jude is wonderful. My daughter works in the NICU at Rainbows Babies &Children here in Cleveland Ohio. May our Lord continue to shine down on you!!
My first born daughter and I spent 3 months at Rainbow in 1999 and it was an amazing place. I went home for 1/2 a day during the whole time and they were totally accommodating of a new Mama not wanting to be away from her sick baby.
AMAZING story!! What a beautiful baby, and awesome parents! It's just a shame she was initially sent home on hospice without more research being done by the original hospital to be 100% sure this was terminal. Bless you guys ❤❤
Oh praise God, He’s the ultimate Doctor, and Healer!! What man deems impossible, God shows His power, and ALL things are possible with Him!! Thank you Jesus, for Your victory in this precious baby. She belongs to You, Lord, rain Your glory upon her ♥️🙏🏼♥️. Thank you for sharing her story, she’s beautiful!
Lord please Continue working ur miracles on this sweet girl. Please bring these parents continued faith and strength. We believe for complete miraculous healing. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Fletcher is one lucky little girl! She has great parents, great community, great hospital & great doctors & nurses. Thanks for sharing your story - I look forward to following her progress - I am so very happy for Fletcher & her whole world!
God's power is so amazing in our weaknesses! Fletcher is a precious jewel. My son had a terrible illness and was in hospital for a few months a few years ago. He had to learn to do everything again and it was so challenging not know if he would survive. God was so faithful and powerful in that time. You all are an amazing family! God bless
God Bless Fletcher and the two of you, for being outstanding parents who never gave up hope. When she looked at you for what felt like first time, I couldn’t contain my tears. I am so thankful to God that he has been keeping Fletcher safe and making sure she gets the help she needs. I will pray for her, and your family. Fletcher deserves the world, and she has the best parents/family/community to provide that to her. Thank you for sharing your story- it’s been emotional for me to watch but yet so heartwarming. All of my love to you ❤❤❤❤❤
Being a resident of Memphis it's truly amazing how much the local ppl do to help St Jude! We did a motorcycle ride to raise funds for St Jude and Ronald McDonald House! We started at a location and ended at the Ronald McDonald house where we were brought in with a police escort and the children/families were all outside as we pulled in. Once everyone was there and off their bikes we were able to be scanned over by a nurse and temperatures taken we were able to go in to play with the children and just hang out spending time with them! The experience was amazing and just heartbreaking all at the same time especially being a genetic colon cancer patient! The little time we spent with them with all focus on them, it was a time frame for them to focus less on being sick and more focus on being a innocent child! Some were even allowed to come out and sit on our bikes! I've never seen so many grown men bawling their eyes out! I definitely recommend participating in it if you are a "biker" and close to the area!

Children are born with aids and diabetes, what made you believe cancer wasn’t a option? It’s a shock. It’s isn’t typical for sure.
@@ceenotsighwhy be so rude smh
@jasiablessing what a dumb response. It's easier to understand diseases being passed from mother to child. Wrapping your head around a baby being born with cancer is shocking and crazy to fathom.
God bless both of you and your amazing daughter! You are incredible parents with a truly beautiful daughter! Prayers for all of you!
These parents are incredibly so strong and faithful 🙏🏻🙏🏻I think we just have to weather the storm and trust in Him no matter what!

I am happy she is ok because she is apart of my family Stevee and billy are grate parents and Fletcher actually has a new sister, Heidey
Praying for you family and baby hv faith GOD CAN DO MIRACLE. WILL KEEP PRAYING. HUGS TO YOU BOTH
If a loving god exists why would he be so cruel as to wait to answer prayers instead of preventing the problem in the first place?

A young man that I grew up around was born with hydrocephalus doctors gave him only a few years to live. He is in his early 30s. He has never walked but he is healthy. Happy and lived his life To the fullest. He has been a true miracle.
What a beautiful name. She looks Like her mommy. She's so cute. She's so happy and loved.

I think its just awful that the doctors did not put a shunt in right away to remove the fluid from this poor baby's head. The baby had unneeded suffering. Even if the baby has cancer, you can still limit the suffering. Poor angel. Bless this baby.

I don’t know how I came across this video but it is exactly what I needed to see! You’re family is so beautiful! It’s so nice to see Fletcher thriving. So glad that these parents got a second opinion from St. Judes . Such an amazing story and beautiful baby 💜💜💜
The story emphasizes the Truth that you really can’t put all your trust in the “professional’s”. Never underestimate a mother and father’s intuition and the POWER of God to heal, be sovereign and use ALL things for GOOD! May the Lord bless and keep this little lamb of His!
Thank you for sharing this video, Fletcher Layne's Story. It is one of hope and love, triumph over despair, and a healing beyond comprehension.
Her little smile melts me!!! ☺️💕
Auqaductle stenosis 6 years ago
Life is good.

I'm curious as to why this wasn't discovered in ultasound. With my babies, their heads were always measured during ultrasounds. Sweet baby Fletcher...she IS a miracle.
I immediately thought the same thing
Some people don’t have late ultrasounds and my daughter didn’t show issues with IUGR till 25 weeks
wondered this too
@@JessicaDaBestica the thing is, it’s VERY obvious from the ultrasound picture that was shared, that something wasn’t right. I was utterly shocked seeing that, and then hearing her mother say they were completely shocked when Fletcher was born.

I would have thought the ultrasounds would have caught it.
How would that have made a difference?

His results came back questionable. When they retested the sample they said his lungs weren't mature. At 37 weeks my water broke and when I delivered him he came out screaming. Fast forward 6 mos and it was a nephrologist that brought in a pediatric pulmonologist and I explained what was going on with him.
