But any checkout is difficult under pressure, especially against the world number 1. Devon played well but missed quite a few opportunities. He hasn’t had as much experience as many of those around him. But hopefully he’ll get more experience and get better at that.

It has nothing to do with the averages or the format, he‘s correct about the low level. When did you see van den bergh missing two singles which were so important? Petersen and van gerwen missing so much doubles? That‘s not what we are used to see nowadays. Especially petersen and van den bergh were playing such a high quality last tournaments...

One thing that I dislike about MvG; his over-the-top "Boom!! Boooom!!" celebrations...especially at 16:05... Even the commentator laughed at him at one point (16:11) . Michael wasn't exactly doing anything wrong, I know that, but why can't he just retrieve his darts and carry on or go for the break...?
Obviously he has been criticized a lot the past months some even saying he is not favourite in this tournament. It is on his mind at all times, watch interviews! So when stuff does go his way on important moments he is very happy

Mvg isn't what if devon had taken his chances mvg would be out simple as that but write mvg off at your peril I cant see him winning it if he doesn't hit his doubles first go at them

I genuinely think he is pumped when he does something good, but he worked out it can get under people's skins. MvG is going overboard with it as he's just so bloody relieved, he's clearly putting huge amounts of pressure on himself
He's not doing it to intimidate people or put people off, most of the time it's relief/because of nerves. Look at how he reacted to the D2 he hit at the end of the 2nd set, he was a bag of nerves then when he hit it, it all came out

Worst standard of darts I've ever seen. Idk what's happened, they were all fine (except for mb mvg) in all the other events since the restart. But the doubling is woefully poor and everyone seems to be struggling with finding their rhythm. Bloody weird. What have the pdc done with our pro darts players? Have they sent them home and replaced them with lookalikes
