    I think you nailed it on the head. the alignment thing does piss me off, i paid 2k almost for the whole kit and it looks like the front was put on by a blindfolded engineer. but i can live with it. I've done a couple of pizza nights, steak and a whole spatchcock chicken on it and its an amazing bit of kit. keep the vids up

    Recently got my dual fuel model here in England. One of the rims above the oven mouth to the right isn’t quite aligned right but it doesn’t bother me too much, but I agree it just shouldn’t be that way. That said, this thing cooks amazingly and I wouldn’t want to be without it now!

    Great video. I've been waiting since 2020 and I finally got the email saying I had a "chance" to order a dual fuel model in Canada come Monday. I had given up hope of ever getting one and have been enjoying a Morso Forno wood oven in the meantime, but now I have to decide if I want to shell out $2K for an amazing if imperfect Gozney Dome.
    I don't see myself using the propane option very much, and I am wondering if curing the dome (and then heating it regularly) with a fire in the centre might not do the trick, since the heat source will be evenly spread throughout the dome, unlike the propane flame which is always and only off to the far side. Thoughts?

      Thanks very much for watching.
      I would actually say the dual fuel is a must as well as using the propane to warm it first. Over here in uk I can’t find the wood only version and I personally think because they know it’s an issue with stone cracking. I won’t use propane for cooking at all or very rarely. I only use it to get everything warmed up. I hope if you do get one the imperfections have been fixed but let me know what happens if you do get one. 👍👍

    Hi mate liked your videos and considered the points before buying have you noticed and enlargement of the gaps. My was around 2mm and went to around 4mm. Also having to return mine as the built in thermometer stopped working and noticed that the gas flame had been returning into the base of the oven and melted the internal gas components of the oven. Really loved using the dome but had to return for that reason as gozney explained you canot use the gas with any wind present as the flame returns down into the oven. Was told it was my fault for having the air flow grate in the wood side. Luckily I had not even used the wood side of the fuel so the grate was still in the box otherwise I fear they were going to try and put it on user error. Really gutted I can't have a dome but fear the problem will reoccur. Just thought I'd let you know to keep an eye on it.

    Sorry late to the party but as an engineer that misalignment is shocking - shows the engineering (maybe not the design) is very poor - if you can't get the bits that show correct the bits you can't see will be even worse - would you buy a 2k bike and have the wheels misaligned ? Expect the whole thing to fail within 24 months.

    I had the same issues. Dome misaligned and stone cracked on first bake. Returned it the same week. Decided to invest in a imported gas oven from Italy. Expensive but is an actual pizza oven designed for pizzas. Heavy and well built, and stays hot. Just over 2300 quid.

    Now that I have that same crack, I assume I can keep cooking on it? Doesn’t seem like it’s worth seeking out a replacement. I don’t think I want to have to use the gas every time I want to cook with wood 🤷‍♂️

    • @skinnyboybbquk
      @skinnyboybbquk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you will be fine cooking on it. I personally wanted the replacement. Using the gas to warm up stone is the method I am doing to prevent the crack. As mentioned on a video about the cooler spots at the front and why the crack appears (my opinion) it’s worth doing to prevent it. It’s a pain and a waste of fuel but I want to keep it crack free for as long as poss.

      They have now released a fuel tray that raises the wood off the stone so I will be trying at some point a wood start straight off soon.

    I got my dome in July 2022 and after 1st use, i got the exact crack on the right, like yours, reported to Gozney they said it was nothing to be concerned about. i hope that the crack doesn't get bigger. Also I have the mis alignment also having a closer look at it. any advise?

    • @skinnyboybbquk
      @skinnyboybbquk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi Suraj.
      I have a couple of other videos on my channel about this subject the dome misalignment is not going to change for awhile I don’t think it really bugged me to start off with and in truth it’s still gripes me now when I see it because it’s a reminder but ultimately it has no effect on the performance whatsoever And everyone who has been round to my house and had a look at the time has not mentioned it so it clearly isn’t as obvious to Sam.
      The stone issue goes new will say it’s because it has a small crack in it from manufacturing I don’t buy it because people stones crack in pretty much exactly the same place it is literally due to the fact that when cooking on just wood you are making the stone hotter through the centre and almost at the back when you push it over to the right and the front of the dome is 3040° cooler.
      So my advice would be contact Gosney and tell them you want it replacing it’s so new and if yours is a dual fuel then follow my Tips where I say hit it with the gas first and then light up with wood.
      When you finish cooking and you throw a couple of chunks of wood on to clean it make sure you pull the coal towards the front so it cools down evenly
      I have used mine so much now and touchwood Everything has been fine.
      I hope this helps

      @Suri_P ปีที่แล้ว

      @@skinnyboybbquk thanks for reply. I will keep an eye on the crack and see how it's goes. I usually fire up on gas for 30min or so then add wood also, As a hybrid dual fuel. Seems to work a treat.
      I will try the cooling method as mentioned and see how it goes.
      Do you usually hear the expansion of metal or clunk sounds when you fire up??

    I think your stone was already cracked, that's why there was no heatransfere from the rest of the stone. I bet the crack wasn't even wisible. Maybe something that happened at the production or shipping.

      @@redline927 unfortunately it did crack again however I spoke to customer services and they resent me another one. On one hand it was very frustrating but on the other I’m still really pleased with the service.
      I do believe they have made some adjustments to help prevent this like a little bit of spacing around the edges and in the middle, so hopefully the issues will start to resolve itself. Still recommend these because they are a great piece of kit despite a few annoyances that I’ve personally had.
