after the match Sliwka and Kaczmarek (and prolly Janusz and Semeniuk) came to hug Shoji which is just beautiful to see as they are teammates in Zaksa. it was the interaction i was waiting for. congrats USA and hopefully Poland can bag the bronze

At last the US Men playing to their potential. Excellent serving & reception, free-flowing offense, and mostly playing together with a positive team spirit. Not getting down on each other when errors are made, picking each other up, coming together in the huddle…all the things that were missing in Tokyo they’ve worked on. Credit to the bench and all the guys in the previous rotations in this VNL cycle, too. Let’s keep it going!

DeFalco reminds me so much of Giba. He plays with so much passion, hits smoke and those aces tho... He and Aaron Russell seem as dominant as Giba + Dante were for Brazil back in the early 2000's (in this tournament). We will be hearing their names often as they continue to have great careers. Also, love seeing the rise of these two alongside the maturation of Jendryk, the steadiness of Smith and Shoji coming off their CEV Club Championship and finally the leadership of Bruddah Micah; da bugga so Akamai. Finally Ensing's play has been eye-opening. Congrats John Speraw and staff, you all must be so proud. Go get this!

I'm Thai, but I always follow vnl and watch it every day. I like to watch men's volleyball. The more good teams play against each other, I like it a lot. But I have favorite teams USA and France, but I think USA will be champion in 2022.

Team Poland is a weird phenomenon. Sometimes they are just too good for their opponents that they can win all the titles, and sometimes they just flop so bad, like in the 2021 CEV semifinals against Slovenia, etc. Arguably they have the strongest and deepest lineup, but somehow when things don't go their way, they melt down. I think they have to work on their mentality, especially in difficult moments. And the USA definitely deserved this win. They really held their ground in the crucial moments with several digs turning them to points. Then this momentum was brought in the third set through several aces. When the level gets higher, it's the nuances, the extra grit, and the endurance that win the game.

Exactly. That's what I keep on saying years on. Our mentality is our weak spot and all polish teams not just volleyball should address this issue somehow

I think we lack someone like Kubiak. And I do not mean his hot temper and arguments, but his strong mentality and his leadership, someone who even in the weakest moment is able to encourage the team to keep going. Not giving up like today.

Wow! Honestly, I’ve been a critic of how US Men’s VT has been playing on the recent years due to their inconsistency. In addition, I’m not really seeing they’ll win against Poland in this semis, though they may give tight match. But man, they’re slapping me with how they’re showing right now lol. TJ Defalco’s Italian league stint has contributed much, I believe, to his critical development and it exemplified in this game! They need to keep this up, as World Championships is up next which teams are much more preparing their players (POLAND - Leon/Kubiak; USA - Anderson/Holt, to name afew).
