i start following voleyball since vnl 2021, france is the reason, love seeing how they play.. then so happy they got the olypics gold medal, and now VNL title, congrats team france 🥇🥇
France is just so hard to go against because they are very good in digging, serving and superb in receiving with these 3 man Jenia, Ngapeth and Clevenot.. as u can see in USA's previous match against poland they manage to make 9aces but with france they only have 1.. that's what team france separates from the rest of the team
France is indeed on their peak momentum right now but it was a tight game. Aces dont justify the whole team power. Moreover, USA is still adjusting with some newbies. Nonetheless, France is a very solid team currently and they deserved it.
Also the fact that their coach is ITALIAn and many of the play in ITALY.
So again, like with Napoleone Buonaparte (that was italian too) france would'nt go anywhere without our contribution: thanks to us^^!

While I'm disappointed the USA lost, im very proud of how well this team played throughout the whole tournament. We were the underdogs against Poland in the semifinals and won 3-0, and made a great comeback effort against France in the final. This team is a very different one from the one that bowed out in the group stage of the Olympics, great work guys

What a final was that! USA gave really good fight and show that they are strong and solid team, but that was not enough to beat Les Bleus tonight. Vive La France! 🇫🇷🥇

USA and France proving they deserve to be in the finals.
The starting 6(7) for France is dream team on its own. Brizard is so clutch. He took victory for his team in the 5th set of both the Olympics and VNL gold medal match. MVP of the match for sure. Patry is the foundation of team, so consistent in both attack and serve. Ngapeth is GOATed, he takes points for his team that they otherwise wouldn't get and could add up being set losing but he always pulls them out of trouble. Grebennikov GOATed there is no need to say more, he's the best period. Clevenot when he is on there is no stopping him. Le Goff worldclass at the top level for years, its hard to maintain such a high level of play and he contributed a lot this match. Chinenyeze is a player everyone should be afraid of. So young but already at a level most don't reach. If he keeps progressing he'll be an absolute beast by next year. Plus we have witnessed improvements in his serve since the beginning of the VNL tournament.
I would love to hear the crazy-pathetic excuses from the doubters and haters now (why Im glad it went to 5 sets as well, less excuses to be made). That's like a self report about not knowing volleyball if you still can't see the skills of this team. They have been one of the top teams for many years now and still get treated like an underdog, despite multiple world titles in their pocket. These same guys have been together playing their vollleyball for almost 10 years (Chinenyeze being the youngest/newest starter) and now they are seeing the product of that in a blooming golden era. This didn't just happen overnight. I love their chemistry and I can't wait for Paris 2024. Keep it up boys!
I do agree with your analysis , adding that Brizard has become a booster for the team. The serve errors of N'Gapeth are probably due to fatigue as he get older (31?)
@@gillesgenete9598 His serve is the same it has been for the past few years IMO. High risk high reward tough jump serving. Sometimes it pays off in service runs (like yesterday) sometimes he just nets. He definitely doesnt move like how he did in his 20s but we can't expect that of anyone. What he has done that many aging athletes fail to do, is that he has adjusted his playstyle and has become more efficient in attack, once again just my opinion.

A lot of imprecisions in his sets.
He had to be subbed out in the third set for that.
@@huquui8789 He made a lot of bad decisions of who he was setting in the 3rd set and yes it wasn't his best match of the VNL. But clutching the 5th set for your team far out shadows that.

USA, and Italy are the best rising star teams in the tournament. i was so amazed by the new players in both sides specially in the us side. they performed really well. i thought head coach john sperrow was gambling with these new players in the 1st week of vnl. i expected he might bring players like holt, anderson and sanders when they got to quarter finals but he didn't he stick to his players and they surprised everyone. well played usa well played in deed.
@@jimmystewart1974 Thank you 🙏 After the horrible 2020 Olympics we had I was surprised Speraw still had a job, but I like the way he approached this VNL and how he used our younger players with the veterans. Yes Italy is definitely rising. Giannelli is such a star and Michieletto especially has such potential.
@@laurenw.8009 I’m astounded also how US came back to win the 3rd and 4th sets. Remember, they’ve beaten France come-from-behind also in the prelims in 5 sets in the third leg of this tournament in Osaka, Japan. It’s such an opportune time for France to avenge that loss in this most important match, Gold Medal game.
Honestly, I’m pretty expecting France will sweep them in straight sets lol, since I’ve been criticizing in recent tournaments about US’ inconsistency. Lo and behold, it seems they’re getting rid of such state among players themselves. Meanwhile, France has been consistent in the recent years and capping that one off with an Olympic Gold medal in Tokyo 2020.
Teams will definitely be all-out in the upcoming World Championships this Aug-Sept 2022. For certain, this would be really exciting.
P.S. Kinda missed Tay Sander, as he has been to the Beach Volley. Their chem with Micah is impeccable.

Except from VNL 2021 (without the best players) and Olympics (terrible performance sadly), they are always among the top 3 - 4 teams in each global competition. Us French often lose against USA. Congrats to team USA, they had an amazing VNL!
@@fish3706 i meant about their new players as rising stars not their rankings. I know that last 2 years usa even surpassed the Brazilian team with their performance and constantly played in semis and finals in major events.

my favorite volleyball team france. i had my doubts 1st week of vnl about france when Ngapeth, Le roux, le geoff and Toniutti were not in the starting line up. having seen the semi final game against rising italy team my doubts went away i knew the champions are back with some new stars. it's so weird seeing french team without Laurent Tillie. He did an amazing job with these players toward great success. i still remember their 1st major title FIVB World league final where they beat serbia to become champs in 2015. after that everything is history. i will always love french volleyball team. ❤

Never thought USA could reach this far after the struggles in 2021, playing without the veterans like Matt, Holt, and Sander left the indoors. It was a tight game and considered a very good result with the team adjusting with some newbies. However, team france is very solid and more composed. Congrats to both of the team.

France has been dominating the last couple of years. They're strong on offense, their blocking game is good, their passing game is spot on, their setter is serving aces and spreading out the offense, that speaks to how well-rounded this team really is. And they're very consistent, they don't get thrown off course too easily and when they do, they recover well.
And they have the best warrior....NGAPETH

I thought it will be done in 3 sets based on how the US performed on the first 2 sets but man! That was an incredible comeback on the 3rd and 4th set! Still proud of USA for giving it their all! Much much better performance than last year’s and coming back with a podium finish!

Man this final seemed insane. I only got to watch from 2-0 for France and didn't get what happened all of a sudden tgat they looked as if without solutions in set 3 and somewhat over srt 4.
Many things have been said about France, but if I had to pick the one thing that impresses me most, it has to be Brizard's style. Time and time again i saw him bring up the heat on serve in crucial moments and he's super ballsy with the setting in high pressure moments too.
Loved how Patry was also so reliable even when they had a hard time, and ofc Ngapeth finding solutions when it really mattered in the end

@@kumpadrejuan Russell is definitely one of the smartest and most stable OH out there even some of the commentators said it as well. I do think he’s just out of dim bcs he he has been struggling with injuries before.
Brizard deserved to be MVP of this tounament! Setting, defending, serving, of him was much better than any other setter from any team.

I was happy when USA take the 4th and 5th set, they gave us a good fight but in the end it's the heart of France that really showed composure and determination.
I'm a fan of USA, Japan and Italy, win or lose I will still support the teams.
I love Micah Christenson IQ when it comes to settings and Shoji in receiving and digging.

For the setter, it's tight between MC and Antoine Brizard for me. Based on what is displayed at 0:30 (replayed at 0:37), I will pick MC. But when seeing at 8:14-15, I cannot ignore Brizard : he is very smart, have ability to see chances for scoring by himself; he has done it a lot of times. I know both can set, spike, serve and block. Still, in terms of pure setting ability, I will pick the USA main setter over the French setter, while Simone Gianelli at 3rd place.

As a Pole i want congratualte both teams. It was great game worth of finals. For me one thing is also nice - I could meet 11 players form our polish volleyball league (and i'm talking about this match).
FRA delivering on high expectations being olympic champs.. USA putting up a good fight.. and VNL fans got a 5-setter finals! FRA for the most part was a solid team, while USA was still figuring out their Opp all throughout this match. but it was a good run, this team has exceeded expectations so far. Didn't think they would reach finals but they did!

In the hardest time France always prove that they are how strong strong and consistent. USA is also strong, but they are lack of little what to become a champion. USA is team in the future. That's one of the reasons volley is such a beautifully strategical, and why not mental, sport. It's a game of sets! France massacred the first two, but USA managed to still engage in they're usual brilliant performance and lead to the tie break. Such a great match, a true final battle. Props to France, but most of all, to Ngapeh's fury...you could see in his eyes the lust for victory. Great team, great tournament!

I love again the experiment that coach speraw made he used in Set 3. He was also wise when he asked
Defalco to sat down because he lost focus and got emotional. But I am happy that they finished this match at 5 setter. That was one of the greatest comebacks in a gold match. I know they will become stronger. They are inching closer to gold next time. What really hurts me is that, neither Russell nor Defalco got an individual award. Especially Russell who's been playing enormously and consistently since week 1😭😭😭😭 Anyway, France and USA are my top 2 teams. Not much pain when France won. They also deserved it especially PATRY! He's unstoppable. I don't know why I really wanted USA to win gold. For now I should be contented as a fan. Because the pain remains double for them as players. But Speraw is spectacular. He can make experiments in clutchtime or crucial ones. Still Congratulations to USA!!!!

@@jaimesantos1170 If Anderson is playing it shouldn't be necessary to put DeFalco as the opposite. He can step into serve receive if DeFalco is struggling.
That’s been TJ’s waterloo - his emotional stability which may affect his teammates. I’ve seen this multiple times, especially that VNL 2021, where they performed egregiously.
Finally, Coach John Speraw has ‘trusted’ more the other players - Kyle Russell, Jeff Jendryk. Why was I so blind he’s not doing the mixing of veteran and ‘newbies’ to the court?! Lol.

Ensing just isn’t a good enough opposite, if Anderson doesn’t come back having defalco play opposite could help the team.
