After going from dirt bike to street bikes I always forgot to put the kickstand up. I Never wrecked from hitting it but it gives you a little scar when it pops you up.

Superbly and tastefully done my friend. Very impressive. I'd be interested in the micro-switch setup for the side stand. Would you mind posting a video.

Hi Michael, I no longer have this bike to make a video, but I did detail the setup and install of this switch here: goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=63

What bar is that you got behind the rear tire? The one below the fender, I need that.

Someone had put a hitch on the bike at some time, and they had cut out the rear of the frame to do it. When the hitch was removed, they replaced it with a piece of bar welded into two right angles and bolted into the frame. So not something you could buy anywhere - something someone made with bars and a welder.

That’s some amazing electrics. How did you figure all that out! Really cool

Hello, Glad to find you. I just got a really super clean 82 gl1100 aspencade. Carb issues and the owner for 20 years gave up.
I bought a single carb intale and a new solex 34-pict-3 carb. Have done these in the past and works great, better power and better mpg. Now my question I will have to re jet mine for I now live at 6000ft elevation. I will drop from 127 main to a 120 and from a 55 idle to a 50 idle jet. I really need to find a way to advance the timing on this bike. Can I shorten the the vacuum advance rod or is there any other way to increase the total timing to at least 36% to run at 6000 ft and higher. Thanks again and I like your videos. Never stop learning. Are you aware of any aftermarket replacements or OEM replacement for the vinyl cubby cover thats snaps on on the left side of the GL1100 fairing? Thanks Scott.

A leather shop should be able to make you a nice one.
