Wow, another great video. My brother once said to me, life is what happens when your plans don’t work out. I always try to remember that, when looking up and saying REALLY. I loved your friend Tam and your sharing the friendship. I had several women in my life for 50 plus years. They have all passed but one. She is not doing well. I do keep saying, you can’t go anywhere….who is going to tell my story. You know when kids start saying something and you can say that’s not true..lol It is so hard to find those people again at my age (71). My mom told me when I was 13, you can count on one hand your true friends and the rest is just acquaintances. This has turned out so true. You ladies are so fortunate to have each other. Happy belated bday and a start of another year.
Your mom was so right! A true friend is such a gift! Tam and I fill in the memory gaps for each other! I hope your friend is with you for a good, long time!!

Enjoyed seeing all your stitching Holly. Like you I do think counting is hard sometimes. I honestly do not think I have ever had a truly perfect stitch in all my 40something years of stitching. Hope you and your husband can celebrate your birthdays soon. I met Tammiie last summer at the Huntsville AL retreat and yes, I got some ZOTS...One of my favorite candies as a teenager and I had forgotten all about them. Tammie is a delight. Happy Stitching.

Thank you, we really did have such a fun time on our trip! Believe it or not, husband has rebound covid and is feeling icky again! I’ve managed to stay covid free and we are trying to keep it that way!

Glad that you had a great retreat with your friends. It is so nice to have a stitching friends group. I am with you in the mistake week. I have had to frog a cross stitch piece each day for the past three days. I hope that my luck will change tomorrow. I have already had the boo boo for today. Love watching your floss tube. You are so comfortable in from of the camera and so what if you forget to say something. You come right back in a insert what you missed. I love holly hobby too! Our family moved into a new house when I was 8 or 9 years old & my mom sewed holly hobby bedspreads for my bedroom I shared with my sister.

I am also a girl from the 70s and loved Holly Hobby. Those project bags are so cute. Thanks for sharing your WIPs, etc. I lived in Dayton, OH (now in NC) and remember a wonderful cross stitch/fabric shop in Fairborn…Daisy Barrel.

I lived in Dayton 1992-2002 (moved to NC). I stopped stitching in 1996 when my daughter was born. Recently came back to it a year and a half ago. How things have changed.

Hi Holly! This is my first time watching your videos, and I wanted to make a couple of comments because we have a few things in common😊. I'm 61, married for 42 years, and have 3 grandchildren that also call me GiGi!
I was big into stitching in the 80s and 90s. In the 90s I stitched a bunch of samplers and many of them had hardanger elements. Then, around 1999-2000 I put all my cross stitch away and got into other crafts like knitting and painting. I started stitching again in 2019 and now am back at it hard again, but it's funny I have no real interest in samplers anymore, I think I burnt myself out on those 30 years ago.
I have a 1994 edition of The Proper Stitch, and it does have a spiral binding, but there's no blue on the cover at all. The spine of it is burgundy and the face of the cover is taken up by the Proper Stitch Sampler, of which the chart for this sampler is in the back of the book. I completed about half that sampler back then, and I have all the floss and perle cotton in the bag with it and everything. I do plan to get it out and finish it relatively soon, maybe it will draw me back into loving samplers again. Anyway, I just wanted to say that yes, the spiral bound edition is the way to go, but that's not the original edition. I think they stopped publishing it for awhile and when it came back had that blue cover. Heck, mine was expensive even in 1994, it was $39.95 at my local needle shop, back when we rarely paid more than $6-7 dollars for a pattern, and it was one of those purchases that got hidden away from the husband!😂 I got mine out this morning and showed him and we had a good laugh about it.
