    Nice XJ, I wanted green when I was shopping but I ended up with silver. love the progress and can’t wait to see future mods. Subbed as well!

      Thanks!!!! I sort of stumbled across this xj I was looking for a 5spd but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I too like the color combo. Its a very solid unit and I enjoy it more and more everyday. I do plan on doing a complete walk around video on it soon. Thanks for the Sub!!! Have a great day!!

    Very nice video. That is a great idea. Thanks for not putting those stupid tinker bell dj club music by the way. Nice choices that goes along with the content.

    dang pretty cool to see someone had the same idea as me. my buddy cut his but had nothing to fold because of rust so i came up with the same thing you just did but instead we used self tappers but still came out very nice and protective

    I was hoping to see a side shot of the whole thing. I have been planning a simlar project abd have the same rear bumper. But not sure if i will be good with the cut line being so much higher than the rear bumper line

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So it is and isn't noticeable. Yes the bumper is designed to line up with factory body lines. Does it look weird with the body gone?? A little bit but it's not terrible. Also previous xj I had I smashed down off a log on that part and rippled the panel up to window. So with it gone it wont damage body panel and the bumper is strong enough because of great mounting design that it will handle abuse if it gets hit. I will post a few side pics on my facebook page @ next week's adventure. Feel free to head over and check them out. Thanks for coming to the channel be sure to Subscribe if you haven't and share the page! Have a great weekend!!

    • @frankdehne1949
      @frankdehne1949 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going to do that first body line the one that's just up a couple inches you know and we'll make it like even with like a shorter bumper. Because I don't like the looks of them cut up that high either

    I have the same exact setup as you. front bumper, winch and rear bumper..lol..i thought about a tire carrier table and now that i'm gonna get a titan trekker II for an extended gas solution i can put a table on there. is that a frontrunner table? can you still put a jerry can in there with those brackets welded in? from what i see with the zip ties, you have your license plate on like i do..i've got min zip tied on in that same spot..lol

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is a front runner table. I haven't checked to see if a jerry can will still fit. I use that spot to haul my cast iron skillet and wet boots. I have been looking at other options for extra fuel. Sorry for the slow response. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I never really thought these would be so popular. My brother and I just made them up and unfortunately didn't make any notes on it. It started with a piece of cardboard as a template and some spare metal that was honestly overkill on the thickness. We only used the big sheet metal bender because I broke the handle on our little one and we had to stop by his work for something else. I really wish I had taken the time to do that video right to help others that need them. I've learned my lesson and the roof rack video will be very informative so stay tuned if your looking for ideas. Thanks for watching and the comment! Sorry I couldn't help more.

    Hi there again thanks for getting back to my last question, this was a very ingenious way to fix that quarter panel. I was wondering about folding table on your tire rack what brand is it?

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey ask away!! I document my projects to help people with ideas and show whats involved so if any questions come up I'm here to answer. As for the table its a Front Runner folding tailgate table. I did have to modify my swingout arm to get it to work but it was very easy to do. 1 thing I would upgrade on it is get the white poly style slide out board if you can. The wood is starting to show issues due to constant outdoor exposure. Cost for the table is around 270.00 but I use it all the time for everything and would definitely recommend!!

    16 gauge steel?

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I did use a thicker steel only because it's what I had laying around. It's overkill for sure but free.

  • @evan_alexanderr
    @evan_alexanderr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another question. Did you have to remove your fuel hoses in the cutting stage or welding stage? I wouldn’t want to cut my hoses, but I feel like if they were taken off and sparks start flying that’s just an accident waiting to happen with the gas fumes that would be coming out

    • @nextweeksadventure
      @nextweeksadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just took a old welding jacket and wrapped it around the fill hoses just so sparks didnt burn holes in it.the fill hose guard was completely rusted away and I still haven't replaced it yet. As far as actually welding I didnt run full long beads just a series of tacks to keep heat and sparks to a minimum rotating around the plates to lesson panel warping also.
