  • In this video I review my 2013 Porsche Panamera GTS which I had owned for over 2 years. The car has a fabspeed midpipe and is lowered with lowering links.

    If you own a GTS you know how special of a car it is.

    Finally, a video with no blaring music, ridiculously long intros and unnecessary blather; straight to what people want to hear. I'm looking to get a 2013 GTS myself with extended warranty.

      Thanks! Yes, smart an extended warranty as this is a complex car and the engine bay is super tight. The valve covers and air suspension will require replacing/repairs at some point.

    Thanks for your content. I'm currently doing my research on panameras. I've never owned 1. I keep hearing go for 2015 or better. Less issues on those years.

    I noticed you have the pdcc. Rare option as people usually don’t order it with their build. Makes that baby handle like a much smaller car.

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed! PDCC essentially eliminates body roll which is really neat for such a large car.

    It would be interesting to get your thoughts on the 970.2 S E-Hybrid. It straddles that line between EV and sportscar with 420ps NA engine.

      Thanks for the feedback! I haven't driven the 970 Panamera Turbo. I was strictly looking at NA engines at the time as I was looking for NA power delivery and sound.

    Yo bro let's help build this channel, you should go talk to local car dealerships see if you can show their cars off, cuz every car dealership has one special car that they have maybe you can start doing interviews and stuff like that you know basically just follow the guidelines that others are doing and I think you'll do really well, maybe put a little bit of music in the background and have it somewhat scripted bro just a little bit, I would like to see your channel grow bro that would be amazing for you, I just like to see people shine my bro

    Looking into buying a GTS but also was considering a Giulia quadrifoglio. Can you give me some pros and cons specifically on each? Thank you!

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jose, both cars are great in their own ways. If you are considering a used Giulia Quadrifoglio, I would make sure that it has a warranty as I know of several cars that had engine bore scoring issues that required new engines to remedy.
      I no longer have the Giulia Quadrifoglio to make a video of, but here are my pros and cons after having owned and driven one for over 30k miles.
      Pros:
      1) Unique Engine with power delivery that builds all the way to redline
      2) Nice exhaust tone (with valves open)
      3) Nice features that you are usually found on more expensive cars: Carbon fiber hood, large rear diffuser, available carbon seats
      Cons:
      1) Shift speed seems slow compared to other ZF applications (e.g., MK5 supra) and Dual clutches. It took away from the overall driving experience.
      2) Dependent on spotty dealer network. I didn't feel comfortable using the car for road trips. Also, my local dealer (which was a Fiat - Alfa dealer) didn't offer loaner cars - I found that to be inconvenient as my car was in the shop pretty often.
      3) It threw error codes all the time. Most were resolved by restarting the car but regardless, it was annoying.

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pros and cons of the 970 Panamera GTS as it relates to the Giulia Quadrifoglio are provided below.
      Panamera GTS pros: the exhaust is louder and sounds better, the car overall is higher quality (consistent with the difference in MSRPs), and the transmission shift speed is noticeably faster.
      Panamera GTS cons: it will cost more to fix and maintain at the dealership and is more complex (e.g., air suspension), it is not as nimble and sporty as the Giulia, the infotainment system is ancient compared to the one in the Giulia.

      @@TheLifeofJoeLee I actually had a QV before my GTS that I have now. The QV is a great car, but for me, the Panamera is just better. They are both driver's cars for sure. I also prefer the heavier steering in the GTS vs the very light QV steering. Pros and cons to both thoigh. The biggest problem with the QV is really the dealer network - it's terrible and nonexistent -- unless you are lucky enough to be near a good one.

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seanhannan6026 Thanks for sharing about your experience! There are a few things that I miss about the QV to include the quick steering ratio but the cons outweigh the pros for me. Every now and then, I look at 4Cs but the then I remind myself of the dealer network and talk myself out of going forward with one.

    I’ve purchased a 2015 Panamera GTS have you had any suspension / air ride suspension issues ?

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great to hear that you have a 2015 Panamera GTS! I haven't had any issues with the air suspension. In the winter time, when it is really cold outside, I'd hear some creaking sounds from the suspension when I first start driving the car - my understanding is that the noise comes from bushings on the control arms that are under lubricated.

    Do you advice me to buy one i found 2015 gts with 110 miles

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2015 and 2016 model years are the most sorted out. The engine is well proven as a variation of the engine is also in the same era Cayenne which there are a lot o. Confirm that the idle is smooth (a rough idle could just be caused by a dirty throttle plate, but there could be other reasons). I would check the valve cover for leaks as that is a pricey / time consuming repair. Also, I would take a close look at the air suspension to ensure that it is functioning properly and is not overly stiff or bouncy. In my opinion, none of these are deal breakers, but they should be factored into the price if they need to be addressed.

    looking at a 2013 Panamera GTS with 80k-100k miles Would this still be a good buy?

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  ปีที่แล้ว

      The engine in the car is solid - I wouldn't be concerned with the engine at that mileage. I would pay close attention to the transmission (confirm that it isn't shifting rough or responding slowly), the air suspension (check for unusual noises or roughness, and the A/C (ensure that it is blowing cold).

    To be honest, as an owner of Turbo version sounds better than GTS because when you are neutral mode sound of Turbo ıs constant but in GTS model when you press gas pedal rev ıs decreasıng much shorter than Turbo model and this cause very instant loud but of course it's really special car also. Drive safe :)
